She had seen that investor once before. When Wen Wenyao wasn’t signed yet, it seemed like she had a good relationship with this boss. Now, they were even living together.

If it had been a male boss, the manager would have thought differently, but Song Nanqiao was also a girl, and their ages were not too different. The manager hadn’t initially guessed the nature of their relationship.

In the end, she could only categorize Song Nanqiao as a second-generation rich lady.

She decided to keep a little suspense.

On Wen Wenyao’s side, after they had breakfast, Song Nanqiao continued to urge her to study the script for tomorrow. After they finished lunch, Song Nanqiao finally took her out.

Wen Wenyao put on a hat and a mask. There weren’t many people around, so they probably wouldn’t be recognized easily.

She had initially thought they were coming to enjoy some of the park’s attractions, but as they walked, Song Nanqiao observed Wen Wenyao buying all sorts of snacks from street vendors. Sweet, spicy, you name it, she ate it all.

Wen Wenyao bought them, and Song Nanqiao carried the bags.

“Eat less sweet and spicy things; they might cause breakouts,” Song Nanqiao frowned. Developing acne was a major taboo for celebrities.

“I never get acne,” Wen Wenyao said confidently as she took a bite of a strawberry covered in syrup, making a crisp sound. The fruit, soaked in syrup, passed her red lips, and she savored it slowly.

“You should have some too.”

Wen Wenyao offered the snacks to Song Nanqiao.

“You always make me eat your leftovers. This time you’re even offering me strawberry butt.”

Song Nanqiao didn’t buy into it.

“Then I’ll eat what you’ve eaten.” Wen Wenyao bought another skewer, let Song Nanqiao take the first bite, and then ate the rest herself.

“There’s a scenic area over there.” Wen Wenyao pointed at a signboard.

She took out her camera from her bag, wanting Song Nanqiao to take photos for her.

Song Nanqiao understood her intentions and took the camera. She started taking pictures of Wen Wenyao.

“Stand on the steps; it will look better.”

“Okay.”

Wen Wenyao stood on the steps, tilted her head slightly, and lifted the corners of her mouth with a subtle and almost imperceptible smile.

The winter sun cast a warm glow on her, and with a click, a beautiful photo was taken.

Wen Wenyao looked at Song Nanqiao below her. Song Nanqiao was bathed in sunlight.

There was no one around.

Wen Wenyao took a few steps closer to Song Nanqiao.

“What’s wrong? Done with photos?” Song Nanqiao asked patiently.

“No, I just remembered the first time we met.”

Wen Wenyao stood in front of her, her gaze becoming softer as she spoke, and Song Nanqiao looked into her eyes, completely captivated.

“Time really flies. It feels like we’ve been together for a long time.”

Song Nanqiao touched her face, showing a hint of indulgence.

“Because I’ve done everything with you,” Wen Wenyao bit her thin lips, and then, taking advantage of herself stepping on the steps, she leaned down and kissed Song Nanqiao.

A girl’s lips were very soft, like two pieces of candy, always leaving Song Nanqiao with a lingering taste.

“Don’t say such things during the day.”

“Then I’ll say them at night.”

After a kiss, Wen Wenyao hugged Song Nanqiao, relaxing her body. Song Nanqiao was slightly taller, and with Wen Wenyao’s lighter body, Song Nanqiao could easily lift her.

“Carry me,” Wen Wenyao embraced Song Nanqiao’s neck.

“Alright.”

With that said, Song Nanqiao squatted down, and then, the girl’s soft body pressed down on her.

Wen Wenyao was very light, and Song Nanqiao could easily carry her without much effort.

“Nanqiao.”

“Yes?”

“Carry me into your heart.”

“Is Miss Wen being romantic?”

“Only for you because I love you.”

“Are you saying sweet nothings?”

“Of course, no matter how long, I will never tire of saying those three words in your ear.”

Wen Wenyao exerted some force with her hands, hugging even tighter, and the two soft areas behind her became even more prominent.

“Can you feel it?” Wen Wenyao blushed and whispered softly in Song Nanqiao’s ear.

“I can feel it… just don’t hug me so tightly…”

This woman…really…

……

In the evening, both of them returned to the hotel exhausted. Song Nanqiao brought all the items they had purchased today back to the room.

Later, they went downstairs to the restaurant for a simple dinner.

“You have a shooting tomorrow, so let’s get some rest tonight,” Song Nanqiao said as she cut the steak for Wen Wenyao, gently reminding her.

“Mm.”

Wen Wenyao was very obedient in such matters, prioritizing her work.

When it was time for them to sleep, Song Nanqiao turned off the lights directly to make sure they slept quickly.

Perhaps they were tired from the day’s activities, but after giving Wen Wenyao a goodnight kiss, the girl lay down next to Song Nanqiao, breathing steadily, indicating she was sleeping well.

Seeing this, Song Nanqiao didn’t dare to make a sound, covered herself with the blanket, and eventually fell asleep in a drowsy state.

Late at night,

The girl beside her frowned slightly, perspiring.

“Song Nanqiao!”

Wen Wenyao woke up suddenly, her breathing trembling in the dark. Her pupils were moist, and her eyes were still red as if she had been frightened.

In a hurry, Wen Wenyao hugged the still-sleeping Song Nanqiao, sobbing silently, unwilling to let go.

“What’s wrong…” Song Nanqiao was naturally awakened and, when she opened her eyes, saw the girl’s eyes were bright red even in the darkness.

“Are you okay?!”

Now Song Nanqiao was completely awake and sat up, holding Wen Wenyao in her arms, soothing her with words like “It’s okay” and “I’m here,” repeatedly comforting her.

“Song Nanqiao…”

“Yes?”

“I’m scared.”

“What are you afraid of? Can you tell me?” Song Nanqiao rested her chin on Wen Wenyao’s forehead, hugging her even tighter.

“I dreamt… I dreamt that you were shot, and I dreamt that you… were left with half a face in a big fire… after that, I never saw you again. I kept looking, but there was no news.” When she got to this part, the girl’s tears had already started to fall.

Wen Wenyao couldn’t go on, so she could only hug Song Nanqiao and suppress her sobs.

“It’s just a dream, maybe it means my luck will turn around soon. Don’t think too much about it.” Hearing that it was just a dream, Song Nanqiao felt a little relieved. She didn’t believe in dreams.

“It felt too real, like it was a firsthand experience…”

Wen Wenyao had a reason to be afraid. This dream was different from others; it brought her genuine fear, oppression, and the pain of watching her loved one die while being powerless, as if her heart had been torn to shreds. She didn’t want to experience it a second time.

“Don’t be afraid, I’m fine now, right?”

“Then promise me that you won’t go out randomly at night and stay away from dangerous places in the future.” Wen Wenyao still couldn’t rest easy and hugged Song Nanqiao, feeling that she needed to hide Song Nanqiao somewhere safe.

“Alright, I promise.”

Song Nanqiao grabbed her hand and they pinky swore.

“You have to keep your promise,” Wen Wenyao wiped away her tears with a tissue, then held Song Nanqiao’s hand after making the pinky swear.

“Mm.”

“If anything happens to you, I won’t be able to live either…”

“Don’t say such things.”

Song Nanqiao covered Wen Wenyao’s mouth.

Then she said, “I will be fine. Don’t worry.”

With that, Wen Wenyao finally calmed down and fell asleep peacefully in Song Nanqiao’s embrace.
