Five years later.

At the International Oscars Awards Ceremony

A woman, surrounded by a crowd, stepped onto the red velvet carpet and slowly took her place in the front row.

The host cleverly shifted the camera’s focus to her.

On the clear and enormous screen, the woman’s graceful and elegant face was displayed. Compared to her previous innocent and youthful appearance, her features had become more refined, yet she retained the cleanliness in her eyes and brows.

As the men in the audience saw this face, they held their breath. They all wanted to scrutinize this perfect woman, but they had to pretend to look elsewhere due to the watchful eyes of the media, sneaking a few glances when they could.

Sitting in her designated spot, Wen Wenyao had already put on her refined social mask. She only responded politely with a nod and an official smile to the incoming gazes.

“You’re this year’s Best Actress,” 719 said.

“Yes,” Wen Wenyao replied in her mind, shifting her gaze to the big screen.

She had already completed her first task. Now, at the age of 22, the Wen family’s businesses had been doing well in recent years, and it seemed she would soon be able to see Song Nanqiao again.

Thinking about this, Wen Wenyao finally felt a bit of happiness.

These past few years have not been easy. After enduring the pressure of the college entrance exams, she devoted herself to the entertainment industry and the business world, concealing her deep-seated emotions. She had steadily progressed to where she was now.

Song Nanqiao had been her motivation throughout these years, and she had never given up because she wanted to see her. In these painful years, she had tasted the only sweetness in her life. Every birthday, Wen Wenyao made a wish, hoping to meet her soon.

Finally, she had come this far.

She felt closer to her…

Wen Wenyao couldn’t help but curve her lips into a smile, but this smile carried an endless desire and, upon closer inspection, even a hint of menace.

Song Nanqiao, her precious one, was still waiting for her.

“Wen Wenyao, mind your expression management,” noticing Wen Wenyao’s changing expression, 719 quickly reminded her.

As the seats in the venue filled up, the crowd grew quiet, eagerly anticipating this solemn and sacred moment.

The female host, dressed in an elegant gown, walked to the center of the stage, and the big screen began displaying the names and photos of five actresses nominated for Best Actress, including Wen Wenyao.

The host skillfully picked up a card and, amidst great anticipation, began her opening remarks, followed by the most exciting part.

The Oscar nominees for Best Actress…

“The Oscar for Best Actress goes to Miss Wen Wenyao from ROT Entertainment.” The host smiled as she invited Wen Wenyao to the stage.

The spotlight once again fell on Wen Wenyao. The newly crowned Best Actress confidently walked to the stage and graciously accepted the little golden statuette from the host.

“Thank you all, thank you to the directors and teachers, thank you to all the staff at ROT, thank you to my fans, and thanks to everyone present. I want to congratulate all the outstanding actors who delivered brilliant performances this year…”

Wen Wenyao, wearing a smile, stood gracefully at the center of the stage. She calmly delivered her acceptance speech, showcasing her charm under the media’s cameras.

“Thank you for bestowing upon me this extraordinary award tonight. Thank you again, everyone.”

After giving her acceptance speech, Wen Wenyao gently curtsied and calmly descended from the stage, returning to her seat.

A thunderous applause echoed in the surroundings.

Everyone admired and appreciated this year’s new Best Actress.

After the ceremony came the banquet and gathering, which Wen Wenyao, as a part of the Oscars, was obliged to attend.

“Remember to drink moderately; you have to fly back to your home country tonight, and your fans are waiting for you at the international airport,” 719 said, watching Wen Wenyao take a sip of champagne.

“Yes, I’m just doing it for appearances,” Wen Wenyao replied.

Wen Wenyao glanced at the alcohol swaying in front of her, sinking briefly into memories.

Ever since the day Song Nanqiao left, she had been forced to learn how to drink. Even though she knew Song Nanqiao wasn’t dead, she still couldn’t see her. Many, many nights, Wen Wenyao could only numb herself with alcohol.

Especially in the late hours, when she looked at the books Song Nanqiao had read, Wen Wenyao would drink herself to sleep.

Every late night, she would still dream of that gentle voice, holding her, whispering softly, and delicate kisses lingering on her lips.

Thinking of this, Wen Wenyao couldn’t help but shiver.

“Wen Wenyao, many people are watching you.”

“I know.”

Wen Wenyao refocused her attention on her surroundings.

With a faint glance, she saw that most people at the event were deliberately or unintentionally focusing their gaze on her. Most of them were men.

They all knew that Wen Wenyao still didn’t have a partner, and their hearts were restless.

They all wanted to try their luck with her, not just because of her stunning beauty but also because of her illustrious family background.
