Mila

“Well, I’m pretty sure I know his class now.” Nana Xara said, sounding excited as Mila threw herself back to the ground with Telekinesis and began running as fast as she could with Illusion Steps. “He should be a Rapid Spear Guardian, a Legendary class.

“Looks like you’ve found yourself another genius.”

“Actually useful information, please!” Mila shouted over the link as the man reached her and stabbed toward her back, not at all confused by the illusory effects of Illusion Steps.

One of her minds tried to grab him with Telekinesis, but, even though the man’s Aura stat was weaker than Roland’s, allowing her to initiate Telekinesis incredibly close to him, he just emitted a bit of his qi and Telekinesis failed.

Thankfully, she’d been worried that might happen, so, while running, she’d taken out the sword of the female Nightwalker general, enhanced it with Artifact Enhancement, and, when he got too close, she grabbed it with Telekinesis and tried to stab him.

Even empowered by her Law Larva of The Reaper, the weapon didn’t do any damage, but being hit with its momentum forced him to slow down, so Mila didn’t die.

She thought about using the needles of the Left Hand of the Runescribe, but, even though their shells were made of D rank materials, their insides and primal stones weren’t, so she was afraid the man would break them. Instead, she summoned the swords of the Flare Clan members she’d killed and the greatsword she’d taken from the Nightwalker Knight and used two of her main minds to attack her pursuer with the five weapons, enabling her to stay ahead of him.

“If I’m correct, his detection skill is Kinetic Senses, so he can sense moving objects. You’ll be able to hide if you can get out of his range and not move.

“As your illusions have no mass, his skill can’t see them even though his other senses can, and that process of elimination makes them useless in front of him.

“His movement skill looks like the Legendary version of Storm Steps, which will allow him to expend extra mana to run in the sky, but it is just as fast on land. And it looks like he has either abilities and or a bloodline, which boost his Agility as well, so you are never going to outrun him. This is even without the fact he’s using a speed path Law Larva.

“He should have another Legendary skill he hasn’t used yet, on top of the Power Attack he’s already shown, known as Guardian. But he doesn’t even need it to block most of your attacks, so you should give up trying to kill him. You won’t be able to damage him at all unless you get in close combat while wielding the Twin Dragons, but that would basically be suicide.

“The Rapid Spear Guardian class is a rare combat class that doesn’t require killing to meet its requirements. It instead requires a whole lot of training, so just the fact he has it shows you are outmatched in close combat skill.

“Finally, and probably most important to you, the Rapid Spear Guardian class boosts all physical stats by 25% when holding a spear, and it has to be a whole spear. So, if you can break his weapon, he’ll get weaker, though not to the point you’d be able to outrun or damage him.”

Mila immediately started aiming her telekinetically controlled swords at the spear, spending some extra psyforce to empower them with Artifact Enhancement. Aalam’s Advanced Multi-Mind skill didn’t just provide extra minds for her, but extra Mental Forges which supported those minds, and that meant extra psyforce. She had more than three times as much psyforce as any normal genius cultivator and psyforce was the only resource she could add to Artifact Enhancement when she wasn’t touching the weapons, so she didn’t see a reason not to.

“Do you think I could outlast him?” she sent to Nana Xara. “His qi and mana usage seems incredibly high.”

“No.” Nana Xara actually sounded worried, as if she’d just realized something. “I’m pretty sure he has a Colossal core container and at least two huge Mana Wells. You are outmatched in everything but psyforce.”

“Well, great.” Mila stopped talking with Nana Xara and focused on the fight. The two swords she’d stolen from the Nightwalker generals were both Epic grade and did quite a bit of damage whenever they hit the Pink Ursa’s spear, but the three other swords were Common grade and they didn’t do anything, so she was pretty sure the spear he was holding was Rare grade. It was just really old, so its durability wasn’t good.

He had been trying to redirect her weapons while chasing her instead of outright dodging so as to keep up his speed, but when she started targeting his weapon he quickly realized what she was doing. He started trying to fully dodge, which slowed him down more, and those attacks he couldn’t dodge he took with his body.

She couldn’t hurt him, but physics still existed and constantly changing direction and being hit by flying metal meant the man couldn’t keep up his max speed, which allowed her to hit him even more, so she could keep him about 20 meters away from her while they ran.

It would be further if Aalam had mastered Telekinesis more before he fell asleep, but the range of his Telekinesis was only so far, even with Mila’s high Aura stat, and she had to be able to continually retrieve the weapons to keep attacking.

Thankfully, she was able to hold him off for a little over 7 minutes, time enough for them to arrive at the Gale Clan’s camp.

The area was covered in tents, most a dull brown color, and it was dinner time on a nice day so almost everyone not on duty was eating outdoors around multiple campfires.

Being surrounded by thousands of enemies was utterly terrifying, but it would allow Mila to play to more of her skillset, and she was so exhausted she had no other choice. So she ran right at the camp, using Blur infused with her Law Egg of Obfuscation so no one but those with detection skills or particularly high Perception would be able to sense her.

Then she transformed the Twin Dragons into spear form, used Artifact Enhancement on it, and cut off the head of a guard on the outside of the camp as she passed. “Why is the Pink Ursa killing people?” she shouted, copying the Pink Ursa’s accent. Then she ran deeper into the camp, moving from shadow to shadow.

She stopped her Telekinetic control over the swords she’d stolen from the Flare Clan members, allowing them to drop to the ground, lowering her psyforce usage. Then she instead focused her two main minds not controlling her body fully on handling the weapons she’d stolen from the Nightwalkers, having them stab anyone who seemed to actually notice her while her main body killed everyone she passed.

“Help! Help! The Pink Ursa is going on a rampage! Why is he killing us?! Why is he killing us?!” When Mila had worked as a teacher, she’d mostly taught first and second graders, and that had often consisted of reading to them, so she’d developed the skills of a voice actor.

She’d always assumed it would be useful in her work as a spy, but she’d never thought it might help save her life.

Some brave heroes heard her shouting as multiple people and came to help, and they fell for Mila’s ploy.

From the little information she’d received, the Flare Clan, a rival clan to the Gale Clan, had detailed information about the Gale Clan’s leaders for this expedition, but they knew nothing about the Pink Ursa’s powers. Given their information likely came from spies, that meant the general clan members probably didn’t know much about the Pink Ursa’s powers either.

So, when he looked enraged and had two swords flying around him killing people, it was pretty easy for them to assume their wasn’t another person he was chasing, but that he himself was killing their people.

The only fact she’d learned about the Pink Ursa before she’d met him was that he was the the bastard child of the Gale Clan Leader’s first wife. This implied a few things. One, he likely wasn’t truly a member of the Gale Clan. According to Nana Xara, most powerful clans didn’t have marriages between clan members at the highest levels, instead bringing in women from other clans. Two, his status in the clan was likely not good.

He was obviously a genius, yet he had a Legendary class. That would make his future advancements harder and it was generally not something a clan would allow a genius to do, especially a weak D rank clan like the Gale Clan. Depending on his training environment, the Pink Ursa, who was probably around 30, was somewhere between a C and A rank talent.

The Gale Clan wanted something from the inheritance on Hira, but it was unlikely whatever was in the inheritance would allow a member to easily rise to C rank, let alone B rank. Inheritances generally only gave the possibility, while the Pink Ursa’s talent made C rank almost certain if he was supported.

This led Mila to believe he wasn’t trusted and that is what led her to trying the tactic of faking he was attacking, a tactic that worked. Three Gale Clan members attacked him and she stabbed two of them with the the Nightwalker’s blades. Then, as the Pink Ursa was forced to stop due to the third clan member, and other new arrivals, attacking him, she managed to get out of the range of his detection skill, allowing her to slip away, though she sadly had to abandon the two Epic artifacts from the Nightwalkers in the process.
