A week passed and neither Alex nor Zunnie had woken up. The doctors and nurses at Victoria Hospital had been doing everything they could to ensure there were no tragedies. Also, having both Wan Bai and the Zi's, two of Una City's most prominent families constantly breathing down their necks left no room for error.

"Doctor, any changes in my son and daughter's recovery?" Wan Bai asked for the thousandth time the second week the couple had been at the hospital.

"I'm sorry Mr. Bai, nothing has changed. We're doing everything in our power. All we can do right now is wait." The doctor in charge of Zunnie and Alex reassured Wan Bai.

"Ah thank you, doctor." Wan Bai walked back into Zunnie's room looking dejected.

He had not been able to sleep well since the day of the accident. They had been waiting on Zunnie and Alex for an hour that night. When the hospital called him, he had almost fainted.

The doctor had said that her injuries were much serious than Alex's and they were not sure if she would survive. The doctor also mentioned that her head had been knocked repeatedly when the car flipped and since she was the passenger, she had suffered more than Alex did. They even said she might have memory loss and some permanent head injuries from the accident.

Wan Bai sighed as he walked over to were Eyan stood staring outside the window.

"Son, you should go home and rest. Come back later this evening." He uttered and patted Eyan's back, who furrowed his brow then turned to face him.

"Why don't you go home. You haven't been home for almost two weeks. I'll stay with sis, if she wakes up you'll know." Eyan said and began walking his dad to the door.

He had called the driver to bring their dad home because he was worried about his health. His father looked like he had aged these past few days and Eyan was scared that he would not be able to hang on longer.

"But I want to be with my pumpkin; w-wh…" Wan Bai voice cracked as if he were about to cry.

He quickly cleared his throat and nodded, not wanting to break down in front of his son. Maybe he did need the rest, he followed Eyan to the car and the driver took him back to the Bai manor.

The driver took the long drive home to be respectful. He did not want to take his boss through the route his daughter and son in law had their accident. Stirring up these emotions may be bad for his health.

The drive home was a quiet one. Wan Bai who was often chatty looked like his soul had left his body. He stared through the closed window not even blinking once.

After a few minutes of driving, they finally arrived.

"Sir, we're here," The driver opened the for Mr. Bai who had been deep in thought and had not heard.

"Sir…?" The driver tapped on the window of the opened door to bring his soul back to his body.

"Hm…?" Wan Bai turned to him a confused expression on his face.

"We're here."

"Ah, yes, yes; forgive me. Thank you, Cleo. Did you eat? You should join me for lunch."

Knowing that his boss wanted some company. Cleo agreed and followed him into the mansion.

"Was this place always this quiet. It feels so empty." Wan Bai mumbled then spoke to Cleo;

"Let me freshen up, have them prepare some food."

He walked to his bedroom shut the door behind him and walked toward the small table in his room. He picked up the picture of Zunnie and Eyan and stoked his daughters face.

She was smiling happily. Her head was resting on Eyan's arm as she tightly hugged him. Her bright deep blue Eyes were warm, and they were looking directly at him. He remembered the day he took that picture. It was her eighteenth birthday. It was warm, and he kept nagging her for a picture. He had only wanted her, but she pulled her brother's arms and said, "Papa take one with Eyan and me."

'Oh, how my pumpkin has grown. Will I see this smile again pumpkin?' he thought as he sobbed loudly. He cried until he fell asleep on the floor from tiredness.

When he woke up he was on his bed and it was eight in the evening. He showered got dressed and went to the dining room for dinner.

"Sir, you're finally awake. We have good news. Eyan called and said your son in law has woken up."

"What about my daughter." Wan Bai asked.

"He said nothing has changed."

Wan Bai didn't reply but was relieved that Alex had woken up. He walked back toward his room. Almost to the door, he turned around to speak;

"Pack lots of food for everyone, I will eat at the hospital. Also, prepare some clothes for Eyan."

He turned, took two large steps and disappeared into his closet for a change of clothes.
