Alex leaned against the wall and looked down at his phone. His wallpaper was a picture of her smiling at him. Alex unlocked the phone and dialed Zhang's number.
"Hello Mr. Zi," Zhang picked up after two rings.
"Zhang do you need any of the documents I have for tomorrow? I haven't been able to work. If you do I can look over them now."
"Ah, not until Monday sir. How is Mrs. Zi, any news?" Zhang replied
"She's going to be alright. If this is all, then I will see you tomorrow. Good job today." Alex ended the call.
He walked back into the room and saw Eyan gazing in the direction of the night sky.
Alex wanted to tell him about the memory loss, but he did not know where to start. Eyan, he seemed to be lost in his thoughts.
"Are you alright?"
"Bro, I'll be okay."
"That's good because there's more info from the doctor. I wanted to tell you when we were alone. He said she may lose her memory. But don't worry if that happens, we all will support her and help her remember."
Eyan Bai nodded and continued gazing up at the night sky. After a few minutes of not saying a word, he spoke.
"You too, stay strong bro, I know you really love my sis; we all do. So, don't stress too much she is going to need you more when she's awake. I'll be going now to see dad and will be back tomorrow. Good night bro."
Alex continued watching the dark sky for a long time before he went to shower and crawled into the bed next to her. He hugged her gently and told her he loved her. He made sure to speak to her as usual, then fell asleep cuddling her feeble body.
"Darling, wake up you're going to be late for work." Her soft voice was whispering in his dream.
He nibbled her ear then sleepily replied seductively into it;
"Just a little longer honey. I just want to hold you. Can I not hold onto to my wife a little longer?" He answered her and continued nibbling on her ear.
"Alexander Zi, I'm going to be late for work, cut it out. You will also be late for work. Even if you're the boss you have to lead by example." She scolded him but he refused to let go.
Alex was going to ignore her a second time but stopped when he felt a spot on his arm stinging.
"Darling open your eyes." He heard a frail voice say.
His eyelid flew open shocked that this dream was too real. He nervously looked down and found her deep blue eyes glaring at him.
"Why weren't you waking up?" She frowned faintly.
"Did you go to bed late again? Honey my body hurts. What did you do while I was sleeping?" She continued speaking in a soft and raspy voice.
Alex was left dazed and did not know how to reply. He blinked a few times to be sure that this wasn't a dream, then kissed her hungrily.
"Honey, you're awake. I've missed you so much!" He kissed her all over her face.
"ah, you're hurting me. Why am I so sore darling? What's going on? Where are we? What's that noise? What do you mean, I'm awake? Of course, I'm awake silly!" She frowned then let her eyes slowly scan the room.
"We're at the hospital and you've just woken up from a three-month coma. God, everyone will be so happy. Honey thank you for waking up." He continued kissed her cheek.
"Coma? But, I just heard Eyan tell me to wake up I'm going to be late for work. How come I'm here? Where is he? Is this a joke or was it just a dream?" She continued looking around the room for Eyan.
"Honey, relax. Look over here." He cupped her face and turned her head to stare into her eyes.
Alex was so overjoyed that she had remembered him that he couldn't contain his excitement. He completely forgot he had to press the call button to alert the nurses. He was so happy but when he finally calmed down her deep blue eyes were no longer glaring at him. They were shut.
"Honey, are you still awake? He checked her pulse it was faint.
He pressed the button for the nurse and they came rushing in.
"She woke up and started talking about being late for work and now her eyes are closed. What's going on? Why isn't she responding?" Alex began panicking the moment the nurses walked in.
The checked her pulse and vitals and noticed everything was fine.
"Mr. Zi please relax, she's only sleeping. Did she say anything?" The nurse checking her vitals said confidently.
"Yeah, she spoke a lot for someone waking up from a coma. I was shocked and forgot to call you. Will she be okay?"
"Yes sir, she's awake now but she's still weak so be careful. Next time she wakes up remember to push the call button."
"Mhm…sorry I forgot earlier." He said apologetically.
After reassuring him for the fifth time that she was only sleeping because she was still weak, the nurses left the room.
Alex picked up his phone and called Eyan to tell them the good news.
