"My will is not strong enough," Steve whispered as swept dripped from his sweaty hair falling onto the black floor.

Klautz was a way for him to gauge his strength. To deduce if he was prepared enough to face the world… the Hell that he would be thrown into. And the answer was 'No', he wasn't.

"I need to get stronger."

*Bam*

With one last thundering punch, the flames on his body died down.

[Time remaining: 00:00]

*Thud*

His body collapsed flat on the dark floor. The black flames were the only thing that kept him going. With the flame's demise, all of the strength left his body. In the darkness, he laid with no more flames to illuminate him.

A series of messages popped up on Steve's status screen. But, Steve was already unconscious and couldn't read any.

"If I had my ninja powers, probably the outcome of the match would have been different…" Klautz said as he still couldn't brush off the battle from his mind. For some reason, it had touched his very soul.

The Sun was dipping itself at the horizon probably marking the end of the battle.

None of Klautz classes and powers was ninja based. Isn't that the reason why his attack against Steve had failed? The ninjas were relied on for assassination for a good enough reason… it was because they had obtained certain powers that could aid them in assassination opponents much stronger than themselves. by deceit... it allowed them to bypass the laws of this world!

Steve had higher stats than Klautz, but if Klautz had access to those ninja 'skills' wouldn't it have been a different story? But alas those skills were monopolized by the ninja villages and only accessible to the ninjas let alone to newbies like Klautz who had not even stepped a single foot on hell yet. They were still on the tutorial zone.

"Well, I am not going to the village any time soon." Klautz said as he shook his head.

"Grr," A manticore walked with sturdy steps towards Klautz as its body was bleeding through several orifices. Its skin was slashed so many times that one could now see its bone.

Klautz could have killed it with ease but he kept it alive so that the second wave doesn't end so easily. He was just playing around with the manticore.

Recovering had become Klautz's priority. And he hadn't been in the mood to fight another horde of monsters in the third wave.

'This is probably the last one,' Klautz thought.

Ever since Steve left Klautz hadn't seen a soul on the island which again fortified his belief that he was indeed the last man. The sun disappeared into the horizon as Klautz was fighting the last manticore.

It was a battle between the last of their respective races.

*Slash*

*Thud*

The manticore fell to the ground as it had sustained too much damage.

[Congratulations]

[You have survived the second wave]

[The Third Wave has begun]

The third wave was a mystery for Klautz. In his lifetime no one had survived to see this wave or so was what he had thought. At least from his ninja intel, he did not know what kind of monster would be popping up now.

The sky was dark without any illumination. Somehow the moon had disappeared today leaving the world in the dark with stars shimmering in the night sky.

But out of nowhere, the island began to get lit up by mysterious blue illuminations.

"Specters," Klaurtz whispered.

The blue light was their heads that were covered with a black hood like skin. Their hands were slick like bones and they had a black miasma covering them as they floated in the air.

These spectres were weaker than the manticores from before. But what it loses in strength it makes up for with an outrageous ability. Thanks to their ability to neglect all sorts of physical damage they can't be harmed with the attacks of a newbie.

After all, both magic based skills and ninja based skills were non-existent in the newbie zone. They could only be found in Hell itself.

Spectres were not immortal, but they can not be hurt with normal weapons either. While a silver weapon could do the thing but a cheap enchantment could do the trick as well.

Enchantments weren't available in these stages so silver swords looted from trials  would be the only bet for a newbie.

*Slash*

Klautz slashed apart a floating Specter as it disappeared into a puff of miasma.

The only exception to the 'silver sword' rule was an anomaly like Klautz. Klautz's Tossias's Demonic Spirit was itself a spirit weapon so of course, it could harm spirits type beasts like spectres as good as a silver sword.

But there was something stranger happening...

Klautz knitted his brows as his nose huffed upwards.

"Wait, this is strange. Could it be…"

The Specter's that had spawned within the island weren't charging at or attacking Klautz at all. In fact, it seemed like they were dancing around him in utter joy!

Klautz had ideas as to what might have caused this. But he needed to test out his theory first.

In his mind, he tried to imagine ordering them just like he does with his [No-name] spirit. The surrounding Specter's came closer to his call.

'Follow my command.'
