Chapter 143: heeky Girl

"Big Sis! You must be lucky to have someone you love at times like this, don't you?"
Selena was shaken back to reality by the girl's comment. She couldn't help but eye the girl from top to bottom.
The green yukata had pink floral patterns and it flew smoothly from her shoulders. The waist belt was loosely tied making her curves a complete mystery. But her mysteriousness coupled with her cute smile gave her a glorious while at the same time cute look.
"Well, yeah I am really lucky," Selena said as she eyed Klautz from the corner of his eyes.
Klautz had said no word but he was following the conversation.
"Tsk, I hope I was as lucky as sis is."
"So did you have a boyfriend? Do you have someone you like?" Selena asked.
But the girl shook her head with a pinched expression on her face.
"Never got the chance to even talk. My old man is protective of me."
Selena tilted her head as she caressed her drooping shoulder.
"Aww, that sounds bad. I hope that things get better for you."
Selena chose to console her but Klautz had a completely different reaction. He raised his brows in suspicion. Somehow in that usual flow of conversation, the girl gave away something astonishing!
'Old man? Does she mean her father? Could it be they got summoned together or could it be…"
It could mean a lot of things. It could mean something as simple as her father back on earth was strict. But somehow Klautz didn't consider that much of a possibility. Decades of years lived in Hell had made him mute to the traditions and ways of hell.
What's more? The Yukata girl was talking at a strange place.
'It is as if…'
Instead, Klautz had some other thoughts but he chose to follow for now.
"Thanks, Big Sis!"
Selena started laughing.
"Do you call every girl older than yourself as 'BIg Sis'?"
But the girl shook her head denying Selena's claim.
Selena wasn't much older than the girl. They almost looked to be the same age. But the girl called her Big sister anyway.
"Nope. It's just you. The other people here are so gloomy!" The girl puffed her cheeks complaining.
"Pfft!"
The girl wasn't wrong. Most people on the queue had their guards on high alert.
While others who were not so strong of their heart had their hearts palpitating as their fears were getting the better of themselves. No one was in a mood to have a casual chat like those two.
While the confidence in the girl's voice was a mystery, Selena seemed to be better off thanks to being part of a team.
"My name is Shizo, by the way."
Selena clasped her hands.
"Oh, nice name! My name is Selena. And this here is Klautz. The one behind is Verona who is also with us."
Selena said pointing to the two. While Klautz could only give out a wry smile Verona gave off a vibrant one. In the gloomy atmosphere having a girl as cheeky as she was like a breath of fresh air. Verona couldn't help but smile.
Shizo too returned the gesture with a smile.
"So I can call you Big Sis, Right?"
Selena nodded.
"What is your ability, Big Sis?"
Selena froze at the sudden question. Her eyes stared at Shizo as she blinked several times.
Meanwhile, Klautz's ears twitched. He was growing more and more suspicious of the girl. But he chose to stay silent and watch how things progress.
'Klautz told me to keep it a secret. I must not fall for it!'
"Ability? I think I have none. What about yours?" Selena replied to the question with a question as well.
Klautz sighed in relief. He took a step back and whispered to Verona's ear as well, giving her the same instruction to which she nodded in compliance.
'Just in case she asks Verona the same question'
But contrary to everyone's expectations Shizo beamed in delight. Her lips arched into a crescent curve. It was as if she wanted to blurt it out and flex as much as possible but did her best to hold back.
"You have to wait for that. I will show mine during the checkup. It will be a big surprise! He He."
'She seems like a kid who is going to be boasting about her powers.'
This left Klautz wondering what kind of safepoint she had spawned to have an attitude so cheeky?
Klautz sighed. At least from her outer appearance, she seemed to be rather easy going.
'That being said. What happened to Evelyn? Did she make it?' Evelyn and Shizo seemed to be of the same age. So naturally, such a thought crossed his mind but he soon put it off.
Shizo and Selena continued with their gossip. Later Verona joined in too. Little by little the queue proceeded as people were having their checkups. Soon it was their turn.
A group of five were called out which included Klautz and co. along with Shizo as the first.
Gozoto was busy with his own calculations. But once he noticed Shizo presence he knitted his brows in suspicion.
"What are you doing here?" Gozoto glared at Shizo as he huffed his nose in the air.
"I just came a bit early. There shouldn't be any problem right?" Shizo smirked.
Gozoto rolled his eyes.
"Whatever, just do your thing. I don't want to mess with your business."
Gozoto noted down Shizo's perks as she went around partaking in all the tests. But he added something a little extra to her stats that most of the others in the queue didn't have.

Ability: Lightning Mage
"Now using your ability knockdown those stuffed puppets in the distance," Gozoto ordered
