'He is strong for a newbie. Is it because of his strength that he seems so calm and fearless?' An unknown voice whispered, "How far does this confidence go? Has it transgressed to arrogance yet?'

Gozoto wasn't the only one who was fooled, another pair of unknown eyes too had been fooled by Klautz.

It was the same unknown man that was keeping a watch at the theatre on the newbies. He had trailed off from his friend and was on his own. And was keeping a watch on Klautz ever since his ravenous show of lust back at Ronald's speech.

But alas even he was fooled by Klautz's trick.

Klautz unaware of the unknown eyes on him got onto the platform for the second test.

*swish* *swish*

Wooden rods were launched at him by the cannons. Levelling through the Satan's system grants one inhuman ability and reflexes.

Klautz who had [Level 7] equivalent of agility felt that the first batch of shots was indeed slow. He dodged all of them as he made sure that his movements weren't too fast.

The tracker below his feet tracked his movements and his score.

'That!' The man behind shadow gasped.

Even though Klautz had made sure that his speed was properly masked there was something else that had caught the eyes of the unknown man.

Unaware of all of this Klautz faced the second batch of shots and then the third. Finally, in the third batch, he let himself purposely be hit by a shooting stick.

[Level 3]

The message popped out.

"Do you have any skills or abilities?" Gozoto asked as he scribbled on his notepad.

Name: Klautz

Age: 22

Strength: 30-40 Agility: 30-40

Klautz age wasn't '22'. Klautz had spent decades in Hell working as a ninja. After such a long period of solitude, he had lost recollection of what his actual age was at the time of his summon. He had just given away a number that was most likely believable considering his current appearance.

Klautz shook his head.

"No, I don't have any."

Gozoto nodded.

"You can go now. Don't forget to collect your tokens at the hall."

Klautz was tested only for his [Strength] and [Agility] stat. As there were no Magus among the newbies the trainers never bothered to find out the [Intelligence] stat even though it was among the fundamental ones.

It grew in value only when certain conditions were met.

"Your boyfriend is strong I must say…" Shizu whispered somehow pausing in between.

"But not as strong as me," Her voice gained force stressing on the 'Me'.

Her chin wriggled as she gave off a knowing shrug. Selena could only give off a woozy smile.

But the man in the shadows had a different opinion burning through his mind.

"Those steps. Don't tell me…"

The old man soon realized that there was something unusual about Klautz. Gozoto had failed to notice but Klautz's footwork wasn't simple.

Klautz could easily hold back and control his strength. All the while looking like he had given it his all.

But changing his unconscious footwork? Of course, he had done it. But to completely get rid of his previous ways? That was a different story.

Klautz had poured his blood and sweat into them and practised them for half a century to perfection! Every fibre of his muscle. Every cell of his bones breathed of that footwork. How could he change his old habits on the brink of an eye?

Furthermore, Klautz had not expected that someone of such a high calibre would be observing him. He genuinely felt that the changes he had done would have been enough.

It would take years of experience to figure out something like that. Someone at Gozoto's experience level couldn't have possibly figured it out.

"Next!" Gozoto roared.

Selena stepped in as Klautz stepped behind waiting for others to finish up.

"What is your name?" a lightly dressed man sitting at a counter in the hall asked Klautz. He was the only 'Resident' present who wasn't wearing any armour.

"Klautz"

The man nodded. He was the one giving out coins to the newbies depending on the level. For [Level 1] it was 25 gold coins. For [level 2], it was 50, and 100 for [Level 3].

"I see. Klautz [Level 3] huh? Here"

The man passed onto a ring to Klautz. It was a storage ring with a five by five feet space and had 100 gold coin inside it. It was because of these coins that Klautz had even bothered to pose as a [Level 3] otherwise he would have settled with [Level 1] or [Level 2]. For buying potions and other ingredients alike coins were a necessity.

Humans when arrived in Hell had thought of paper notes as a currency. But due to the abundant amount of counterfeit due to not having the proper equipment to create advanced paper notes they had settled with gold coins.

It went well since gold in Hell was abundant with every Trial site offering some to the one who cleared it. Using gold as a currency made the gold received on trial have a direct monetary value.

Hunters no longer had to rely on gold investors to liquidate their gold making their life much easier and easing out transactions. All in all, it benefited everyone.

"Wow is this real gold!" Selena squeaked receiving her share.

The man at the counter could only smile wryly.

'Don't hold your hopes high. Gold is much more abundant here than Earth and doesn't hold as much value,' Klautz whispered.

But he didn't voice out for fear that it would give away his secrets.

This was one of the reasons why the 'newbies' were so easily tricked by the 'Residents'. The newbies compare it with earthly value as the greed gets better of them.
