Chapter 151: hased and Detained

Klautz and Verona's eyes were stuck on the duo, following them as they left. Their line of sight soon switched to each other instead of them. There was an awkward silence.
*Cough*
"Brace up, we are going to practice your puppeteer skills!" Klautz tried to sound as formal as possible.
"Oh!" Verona squeaked but looked away the next moment, "but the puppet you gave me last time was already destroyed by the marble golem… sorry"
Klautz smirked. He had many more on him so much so that he had lost count. These were crudely made puppets anyway and weren't what the puppeteer class could do at its best. Verona had no idea what kind of nuke she was walking around with.
But soon enough his smirk turned back to a frown. There was something that had been weighing on his mind since dawn.
'Shizu might have left but 'she' must be still around.'
Klautz was pretty sure that whoever had attacked him last night was keeping a watch on him to learn of his weaknesses. And true to that Klautz was spot on except for the fact that the one following him wasn't a 'she'.
'As long as she is around I cannot grind with all of my strength. I have to get her eyes off me.'
Klautz wasn't sure from where he was being watched. And he was even less confident that he would be able to win a fight against her considering her strength. 'She' was a resident after all. The best thing Klautz can do now is to make her lose sight of them.
Klautz turned around and sat on his knee. His back facing Verona.
"Alright hop on!" Klautz ordered.
Verona tilted her head in confusion.
"What do you mean?"
Klautz clear instructions were unable to reach her thanks to their 'unusualness'.
"Get on my back and I will carry you."
If Klautz even hoped for their stalker to lose sight of them he cannot rely on Verona's so-so agility. With his strength carrying her would be a breeze.
"Eh??" She continued as her ears turned red, "NO, I can't. I can walk by myself! Why do you need to carry me?"
Verona shook her head with everything she got.
The air around Klautz turned dark. His eyes glared at Verona, making her gulp.
"It's an order,"
His voice was horse making Verona gulp. For some reason, she could no longer refuse. But she was still reluctant. But alas Klautz had no time to explain the situation to her.
'This is so embarrassing,' She walked towards Klautz.
She didn't want to do this but she didn't dare to refuse either. She felt like her dam would almost burst any moment. While at the same time her cheeks were turning red.
'Why always me?'
Saying so she lowered herself on his back.

Picking her up he stormed away. Klautz had no intention to waste any more time. Verona's agility was fairly less than himself and it was faster this way since he aimed to raid on a different hot spot altogether all the while losing the spy behind him.
But such an action caused the man spying on him to frown.
'Where is he going?' The man knitted his brows.
He had no idea that he was getting more and more into Klautz's ploy.
'Let's follow,' the man followed behind Klautz.
With his agility stat, it was like a walk in the park for him. He had no idea that Klautz was hiding his actual speed. Klautz had no plans on giving it away, at least not until he was sure that he had lost the stalker.
The forest was covered by thick canopies with dangling roots making it impossible for sunlight to seep through, Klautz and Verona only appeared as a shadow running through the forest.
They made a quick turning out of nowhere and disappeared behind a thick tree.
The man knitted his brows, having them out of his line of sight. But how far could Klatz have gone? At most he was just behind that tree.
And true to that, he came out from the left side having Verona on top of him. Or at least that was what the man thought.
The man too ran behind him not noticing that the real Klautz had his eyes on him hidden behind the bushes. There was barely any light in the forest making the man appear just another shadow. The environment was a double-edged sword.
Yet he had to thank the darkness because of which he was able to fool the man's eyes. Klautz could only thank his luck that the man had no night vision skills or at least he was not currently using it being tricked easily.
"With this, it is confirmed that someone is following me," Klautz frowned. "But a man? Why a man? I was sure that the attacker was a woman!"
"Umm! Umm!" Verona squeaked. Her mouth was covered by Klautz's hand. Klautz had detained her making her unable to move or talk!
Klautz had done it for a reason. But Verona not being initiated was panicking hard!
The situation wasn't pleasing to her. A man detaining a woman like her behind the bushes not even allowing her to scream? Her brain was ringing with the words 'Rape'. She was trying hard to break free.
"Shh!" Klautz made a shushing sound while keeping a finger on his lips.
