Chapter 217: Ms. Mouse

On a cold and chilly night where the world seemed to be covered in snow, a couple had taken shelter inside a majestic cave with a fire burning at the core of it.
The man tossed timber into the fire from time to time as he allowed it to burn.
*Crackle* *Crackle*
The crackling sound of the fire was as if a lullaby to them but their worries hardly allowed them to sleep.
That was only till he wrapped his arm around his girl. The couple felt more warmth from each other than from the fire burning in their vicinity. But they let it burn anyway.
For in the night without a moon, it was only the burning of the fire that aided in the vision.
"Klautz, will she really be here?" Verona asked.
She was expectant and troubled all at the same time. It was clear that she was out of her comfort zone, but since when was hell a place of comfort?
Klautz had informed her that the culprit of the homicides would be making an appearance anytime soon. But Verona wasn't sure what to make of such a comment. Did she want to meet the person in question? Yes and no at the same time.
She wanted the culprit to be punished while at the same time staying as far away from her as possible.
But it seemed like she was the only one who was troubled here. Cause all her partner was doing was playing with her breasts and she couldn't even complain! She could only twitch her eyebrows at the late replies.
"Hmmm, yeah she should be coming in here anytime soon." Klautz claimed, "But you don't need to worry. I have made preparations."

'It's to keep the promise,' that's what he had told but Verona had her own doubts of his ulterior motives.
Verona could only squint her eyes as she watched Klautz plunging himself onto her chest.

Someone had arrived. Verona could sense it! It caused her to be on guard. She turned around to glance at the girl that had just been transported at the mouth of the cave as her eyes shot out wide.
The girl had a petite body and twin tails. Her emerald eyes and fair skin complemented with the glow of the burning fire making her appear ethereal. But what was even more shocking was that she stood in her birthday suit!
"Where am I?" Surprisingly enough the girl was equally shocked.
So much so that she froze in her place. The presence of the couple in front of her was even more troubling. What she was expecting was a dark room ready to be reaped.
Alas, she had not felt the faint glow and mana pulsations below her feet. As a newbie, she was unaware of the existence of magic!
The faint glow got brighter and brighter until it was strong enough to compensate for the entirety of her hiding her body in its glow.
The light illuminated the entirety of the cave causing the fire burning beside them to pale in comparison to its glory.
Klautz lips arched into a smile. He too had sensed the girl's presence.
Klautz had chosen a faraway place to summon her in order to avoid the gaze of the residents. Not only that, he had chosen one of the most remote hotspots for more than one reason. It was the same place where he used to fight [Ice Serpents].
Making a trip at the [Ice Post] was in itself scary for Verona. Not to mention that they were supposed to be waiting for a culprit of homicide. But she had grit her teeth knowing that she had to get used to it if ever she wanted to walk along Klautz's side.
But was that all? Klautz was worried that he wouldn't be able to entrap the girl with her peculiar ability. Killing her when she had her guard down was a different thing and capturing her was a different thing altogether.
That is why Klautz had to buy a trap. It was of similar nature to the traps used by ninjas to capture the [Giant serpent] with the only difference being that it nullifies all magic and abilities including spatial ones making the trapped unable to escape.
But there were many problems with it as well. One of them was…
'It was damn expensive.' Klautz thought as he glanced at the vibrant light that captured his target.
It was a one time use item and with this, all of his reserves of gold were exhausted. In fact, Klautz was now in debt with him owing a lot of money to Selena.
'That girl is loaded,' Klautz thought.
When Klautz asked her where she had got so much money, she could only laugh awkwardly claiming it to be from Shizu. That was when Klautz was once again reminded of the unfairness of the world. Shizu was much more doting on Selena than the others. Klautz believed that the reason he was getting money from her was because of Selena as well.
Klautz sighed as he basked upon the desperate look of the girl he had trapped.
It was costly, but watching his target trapped at his whim made Klautz lips arch into a devilish smile.
"Welcome, Ms. Mouse. I am sorry to inform you but you are trapped."
Finally, the girl's attention was drawn to Klautz. Her emerald eyes rippled as she gazed into the abysmal black pupils of his.
"You…" her voice shook.
She recognized the man that stood in front of her.
