Klautz and Colt indulge in a rare battle that had enough humor to be able to go down in history.
It was not a battle of life and death. Had the audience known about the motivations and true meaning of the actions of the two participants they would have surely burst out in laughter.
One was a spendthrift who was reflecting on his earlier actions of devaluing money, and now that it was actually happening he could only empty his pockets and lament.
While the other one was a gold digger who had come on stage just for the money.
For Colt, it was an immediate expense that he felt that he had to conduct to create a strong position among the newbies and second gen. It was because of such circumstances that he had to use such drastic measures.
While for Klautz it was just a rare lucky day that he was enjoying, hoping that things won't go south too soon... After all, hell was that kind of place.
Colt punched straight ahead with his fists landing on Klautz while at the same time Klautz moved away. At this point Colt was high enough to think that he could almost one punch Klautz and cease a victory.
But the results betrayed his expectations.
"What?!"
Colt was stupefied. To the audience it might have appeared that Klautz had barely managed to dodge Colt's attack and saved his sorry life but Colt knew better. His punch had surely connected. The tingling feeling on his fist couldn't have wronged him!
'How can this be possible?'
But there was not a single scratch on Klautz. It appeared as if he had just plainly dodged the attack.
'He should have been sent flying. What the fuck is happening?'
Colt had no idea. The audience didn't pay much attention to it either. Colt's attack had indeed connected. But Klautz's defence was high as well.
Not to mention that Colt's punch was a nerfed one with him holding back to draw out the battle. How could such a punch harm Klautz?
Klautz can fake his strength all he wants. His training had made his fists quite stable… Klautz can fake his agility too… but alas Klautz cannot fake his defence since it was a natural and intrinsic ability of the body directly associated with the stats. As long as you have enough defence certain things can never scratch your body.
If strength represents the maximum muscle power one can generate, then defence was the toughness of the whole body! Strength can thus be a variable but defence would always be a constant.
Colt stared at his tingling fist as his lips pursed.
Colt was a bit confused as to what was happening. But he could never suspect Klautz.
For better or worse, Klautz was a newbie and Gozoto himself was there to testify to it. He couldn't be wrong could he?
'That could mean only one thing. Someone is playing a bad joke on me.'
Colt turned towards the VIP seats housing all of the second gen. The newbies were but innocent tools. Only someone from their generation could have been behind this!
'Are they taking revenge on me for stealing the lime light?' Colt gritted his teeth.
He was indeed wrong about everything but one. Indeed, it was Shizu who had caused Klautz arrival but she wasn't even seated in the ViP seats!
Not to mention that the earlier event wasn't even Shizu's doing.
There were many high grade items that were present in hell that could defend the wielder in such a manner of higher grade attacks. Had there not been the existence of such items, the people of hell would have been completely helpless against the ninjas!
And who could Colt be kidding? His own blast enchanted armor had been one of these defensive mechanisms.
Colt had every reason to believe that the schemer had passed on one such an item to Klautz. But he couldn't be more wrong.
'If you think I will be fooled with this alone. Then you are wrong.' Colt squinted his eyes.
But what he heard next caused his eyes to shoot out wide instead!
"I surrender," Klautz claimed, raising his fist in the air.

The showdown between the two sides was just an exchange of pointers. Of course, it would end as soon as one side surrenders or falls unconscious. The 'death' of one side wasn't something that had happened here till date. Gozoto himself was there to make sure of that. And even if it did happen Gozoto would just have to cover it up.
But Klautz's situation was a bit different. He willfully gave up due to unforeseen circumstances. Had everyone known that it was because he wanted to run away with the money, they would have coughed out blood.
Colt felt that he was being scammed. Didn't he pay a good enough amount for him to fight the match till the end? But he couldn't do anything at such a stage either. The so called 'showdown' had its rules down already. Anyone can surrender anytime they wanted.
He gritted his teeth as he beared onto it.
'Just you wait. I will find you after this and kill you for good.'
Colt couldn't do anything to Klautz's at his current state but so what? He could take his revenge anytime he wants. All he would have to do was to cover up the matter as death at the hands of a beast.
At the other side of the stadium a similar cry of being betrayed resounded.
"I want a refund!" Shizu screamed. "Big Sis, you better scold him after this and tell him to return everything."
Selena smiled wryly.
'I wonder…'
She had a hunch that something like this was going to happen. What was the point of bribing Klautz? One would only find their own loss in it.
