Chapter 168

“Great job!”

After finishing the shooting for the day, Seo-jun greeted the staff and actors.

The people who were preparing for the next shoot smiled and said.

“Bye, Seo-jun!”

“Good luck with your entrance ceremony tomorrow!”

“Thank you!”

Seo-jun answered with a bright smile and headed to the parking lot with Anh Da Ho.

As soon as they got in the car, Anh Da Ho turned on the heater.

The warm and quiet car made Seo-jun’s expression soften.

“We should arrive by 3 o’clock if we go now.”

“Yes.”

“Are you ready for the entrance ceremony?”

Seo-jun’s car started moving. He leaned back on the seat and spoke in a drowsy voice.

“Yes. I have my uniform, my bag, and my stationery.”

“What about your textbooks?”

“They will give us the textbooks after the entrance ceremony.”

“You’re already a middle school student.”

Anh Da Ho felt both happy and nervous.

He had always thought that Seo-jun would stay young forever, but he was already a middle school student.

In three years, he would be a high school student, and in another three years, he would be an adult.

‘Seo-jun as an adult…’

Anh Da Ho glanced at Seo-jun through the rearview mirror, who had his eyes half-closed.

He smiled as he imagined Seo-jun as an adult.

He thought that Seo-jun would be an even more amazing adult than Anh Da Ho could imagine.

The car was warm and quiet.

The sound of a violin flowed from the speaker, like a lullaby.

Seo-jun listened to the violin sound with his eyes half-closed, and soon realized who was playing it.

“Anh Da Ho hyung. Is this violin piece by Jason?”

Anh Da Ho laughed at Seo-jun’s quick recognition.

“Yes. He hasn’t released it yet, but he sent it to me first after recording it. He said he wanted to hear your opinion secretly. But you figured it out right away.”

“I can’t miss Jason’s violin.”

He could hear the traces of the sparkling violin fairy.

Seo-jun closed his eyes and enjoyed the violin performance.

The calm violin sound seemed to soothe his heartbeat.

“What’s the title?”

“In A Dream. It was composed by Professor Benjamin and played by Jason Moore.”

“I see.”

[In A Dream].

It was a really good piece, as expected from the two musicians.

The fluffy violin performance was like a dream, just as the title suggested.

“It would be perfect as a lullaby.”

Seo-jun’s voice stretched slowly.

His eyelids that were half-closed became heavier.

Just as his eyes were about to close completely,

Bang!

Seo-jun’s phone rang.

He came to his senses and rubbed his eyes as he took out his phone.

It was his friends.

Ji-yoon: Tomorrow is the entrance ceremony!

Mi-na: I know, right? It feels weird to wear a uniform.

Ji-o: My mom told me to wear it properlyㅋ She said the uniform is expensive.

Ji-hoo: You should wear it properly. Do sports in your gym clothes.

Ji-o: Yes, sir.

Mi-na: Is Seo-jun still shooting?

Bang, bang, his phone kept ringing as he held it.

Seo-jun sent a message to his friends.

The sleepiness that had crept up on him was gone by now.

<No. I just finished and I’m on my way home.

Ji-hoo: It’s still daytime, you finished early?

Lately, there were more days when he finished earlier than planned.

Seo-jun and Lee Ji-seok practiced together whenever they had time, so they had good chemistry.

‘And Teacher Park Woon-yeol is good as always, and Uncle Ho-young has improved too.’

Seo-jun felt that the other actors were also getting more immersed in their roles.

‘I wonder why?’

Seo-jun tilted his head.

Seo-jun didn’t realize that his and Lee Ji-seok’s acting made the other actors immerse themselves in their roles as well.

They just acted fiercely like loyalists and traitors, and he thought they were good at acting and sparkled his eyes.

Ji-yoon: I’m looking forward to the movie.

Mi-na: Me too. There are articles coming out all the time.

Ji-hoo: There are many places talking about Danjong on TV too.

Ji-hoo’s message made Seo-jun laugh.

Unlike My Physician, which was a KBC drama, the movie was not limited to any broadcasting station, so there were broadcasts related to Danjong everywhere.

Mi-na: There was a travel program about Danjong’s exile place

Ji-yoon: I saw that too! It was so sadㅠㅠ Danjong died when he was 17. He was only 3 years older than usㅠㅠ

Ji-hoo: There was also a story about King Sejong. He gave work to his royal relatives, and their influence lasted until Danjong’s time.

Mi-na: There was also an opinion that King Sejong was sick and had no choice but to entrust work to his royal relatives.

<They said that King Munjong was not a weak king either. He was strong enough to resist Prince Suyang.

Ji-yoon: If King Sejong and King Munjong had stopped Prince Suyang properly, Danjong wouldn’t have diedㅠ

Ji-o: What? Am I the only one who didn’t watch it?

Ji-hoo: You went to soccer class then. You said it was boring and played games during the rerun.

Ji-o: Oh.

<ㅋㅋㅋ

The kids laughed. Seo-jun also smiled and continued to message his friends.

March 4th.

The day of the entrance ceremony for most middle schools.

There was one school that was especially excited.

Even though there was still time until the entrance ceremony, students and parents were gathering at Yeoul Arts Middle School.

A child who ran to see the class assignment shouted loudly.

His cheeks were flushed with excitement.

“Mom! Lee Seo-jun is in class 1! He’s in the same class as me!”

“Really!? That’s great!”

The child’s parents took him to the class with a happy face.

The family that seemed to fly to the classroom caught the eyes of other parents.

“I hope my son is in the same class as Lee Seo-jun too! There’s a class assignment list over there. I’ll go check it out.”

“I’ll go check it out. You stay here.”

“Class 1. Please, class 1!”

There were students who were in class 1 with Seo-jun, but there were also students who were in class 2 without him.

Half of the children who checked their classes came back with disappointed faces.

“Ah, I’m in class 2. I’m not in the same class as Lee Seo-jun.”

The parents comforted their children who came back disappointed.

“Yeoul Arts Middle School only has two classes, so you can still get along with him even if you’re in different classes.”

“But… We won’t be able to act together unless it’s a group lesson.”

“You can be in the same class with him in second or third grade, not just in first grade.”

The students who checked their classes headed to their classrooms with tense faces, but the parents who headed to the auditorium had very excited faces.

They were parents who had become friends after attending the same acting academy and passing the entrance exam together.

“They say that there aren’t many parents who go to middle school entrance ceremonies. We weren’t planning to go either… But when else would we see Lee Seo-jun?”

“I know, right? Our relatives wanted to come too… But they said only family members could come in the announcement.”

“It would be a mess if our relatives came too. They would bring cousins and uncles.”

The parents nodded as they recalled their relatives who asked if they could go to the entrance ceremony with them.

They were more interested in seeing Seo-jun than their own children’s entrance ceremony.

***

Yeoul Arts Middle School, first grade, class 1.

As the door opened, the eyes of the children sitting in the classroom turned to the door. But when they realized that the person who came in was not their target, they sighed with a mix of disappointment and nervousness.

Kim Ju-kyung, who flinched at the piercing eyes, sat down at her seat with her name on it.

She put down her bag and looked around the classroom.

There were more children than she expected.

‘I thought I came really early…’

Last night.

Ju-kyung couldn’t sleep well because of her nervousness about entering middle school.

Will I make friends? Will the teachers be nice? How will the school be? Will I be able to follow the lessons?

She tossed and turned with all kinds of worries until she gave up sleeping and just got up.

‘My mom and dad must have felt the same.’

They were so excited to see Seo-jun in person that they couldn’t sleep well either. They had gone to the public service video shooting with their acting academy teacher, so they always regretted not seeing him.

The whole family got up early, got ready early, and arrived at school early.

‘So I thought there would be only one or two people…’

But there were almost half of the 20 students in the classroom.

She was lost in thought when she noticed the stares pouring at her.

She realized that she was ‘that’ Kim Ju-kyung who appeared on One Step at once.

“Hi!”

The child sitting next to her greeted her. Ju-kyung also smiled and greeted back.

“Hi!”

“I’m Yang Ju-hee. You’re Kim Ju-kyung, right? The one who appeared on One Step?”

“Yes. That’s me.”

Yang Ju-hee looked at Ju-kyung with admiration.

Unlike Yang Ju-hee, who had appeared on print ads or short plays, Kim Ju-kyung was a really famous child actor.

And she had acted with Lee Seo-jun.

“I think I would be too nervous to act with Lee Seo-jun. You’re amazing.”

“To be honest, I was too. I was so nervous.”

“How is Lee Seo-jun’s acting in real life? Is it different?”

Ju-kyung was about to answer when the door opened again.

The children thought it wouldn’t be him this time either, but they couldn’t help turning their heads reflexively.

Their eyes widened as they saw the face of the child who came in.

“Seo-jun!”

It was really,

the Hollywood star, Lee Seo-jun.

Seo-jun also noticed Ju-kyung.

He smiled brightly.

“Hi, Ju-kyung! We’re in the same class?”

Wow…

The children who saw Seo-jun’s real face for the first time opened their mouths and stared at him blankly.

Seo-jun wanted to get along with his new friends, so his aura was bursting out of his body.

It was a warm and pleasant aura, like the sunlight, that created sparkling lights.

Someone whispered.

“…Do I see a halo?”

“Is that the celebrity aura?”

“Oh my… He’s really handsome.”

Seo-jun scratched his cheek at the children’s reactions.

He was used to his classmates since he had been with them since first grade in elementary school, but the children here looked at him more like a celebrity than a fellow first grader.

It felt a bit awkward.

‘Well, I’ll get used to it soon.’

He shrugged his shoulders and asked Ju-kyung.

“Did you come early?”

“I couldn’t sleep well yesterday. It’s my middle school entrance ceremony. And I’m in the same school as you. My mom and dad were so nervous that they got ready from the morning.”

“You came with your parents?”

“Yeah. They went with the teacher when we were shooting. They said they really wanted to see you, so they didn’t even open their store.”

“Their store?”

“Yeah. They bragged about it all day yesterday. That we’re in the same school as you. And that they might see you at the entrance ceremony. The customers were so jealous. They said they were more interested in seeing you than my entrance ceremony.”

Seo-jun laughed at Ju-kyung’s words.

The children looked at Seo-jun and Ju-kyung with sparkling eyes.

The superstar, Seo-jun, was amazing, but so was Kim Ju-kyung, who was chatting happily with him.
