A beastmen man, Leo hadn't seen since his capture was standing on top of the gas station. The silver fur man-beast was staring a hole right through Leo. "Joe leave now. I will slow him down."
Tears formed into Joe's eyes. Joe treated Leo as his own son, and if he left him right now, it would be last time he ever saw him. Joe looked at Samantha and knew that he wasn't allowed to give up both their lives. He nodded at Leo because he was too choked up to talk.
As Leo watched him speed away, Leo faced the furry canine and took up a fighting stance.
"Sir if the beastman goes all out you have 0% of survival."
"I know Sprite." Leo already exhausted from his last battle picked up a scrap piece of metal and threw it at Unit 737. The beastman dodged it and watched the boy take off to the west.
Leo had only one plan, and that was to use his own army to fight the beastman. Leo was running for his life. He was using every bit of willpower to push himself forward. "If I can make it. I might live." Once he got to the edge of the settlement, rain hit his face. The spaceship didn't extend out this far.

The beastman was about to pursue Leo when he heard a familiar voice. "Unit 737 your fight is with me."
The beastman turned and looked at the person speaking. It was Lycan. "Unit 786, this is where you were hiding." He picked up his communicator and said, "Unit 1203 head west in pursuit of a human boy. Units 6783 and 6745 head south in find two humans in a hovercraft." Unit 737 put the device down and started gathering mana.
"Shadow, I know you can hear me. Gather any of our men and rescue Leo as soon as possible." A dark figure close to Lycan disappeared.
"Unit 786, I am higher and that means I am stronger. Give up now."
"My name is Lycan now. Brother, you will pay for killing those I protect."
"Beastman Art: Steel Reaper."
"Beastman Art: Iron Reaper."
Both beastman leaped into the air and began to fight. Every time the Beastmen's claws clashed, sparks would fly. Lycans was only a Mid-Stage Core Building, and 737 was late. This disparity in strength and claw techniques put Lycan in the losing position. In every exchange, Lycan was receiving twice the damage 737 was.
The silver-furred demon jumped into the air and dived at Lycan. Lycan counted with his own Iron Reaper, but then flipped and executed a Descending Moon onto 737 head forcing him into the ground. The month Leo was training with Shadow, he taught Shadow and Lycan Descending Moon. Apparently, beastmen are much attuned with the moon and yin mana.
Unit 737 picked himself off the ground and stared at Lycan. "Beastman Art: Mana Claw." A silver energy air blast came from one swipe of 737 claw. The energy slammed into Lycan blasting him into the building he was in front of.
The silver fur beastman gave Lycan no time to recover and launched 2 more Mana Claws at him. The blast landed on the Lycan and created a dust cloud from the dispersing mana. 737 jumped over into the darkness to finish his fellow beastman off. Walking towards Lycan, the dust started to disperse. Looking at Lycan laying on the ground, Unit 737 said to him, "time to die Unit 786. Steel Reaper." The claw was plunged into Lycan's chest.
Lycan smiled and with his left arm grabbed 737, locking him in place. "Lunar Reaper." Using the same theory of using yin mana in the foot. Lycan applied that to his Iron Reaper and created a new move himself. Lycan thrust his right claw forward aiming for Unit 737 head.
"You will not get the best of me, brother. Steel Reaper." Using a second Steel Reaper aimed at Lycan's right arm, slicing off his arm. The arm wasn't sliced off fast enough, and Lycan destroyed 737's right eye.
"Arghh." Screamed 737. He ripped out Lycan's heart and stood over him crushing it. Laying there dead, Lycan fought proudly. Even with a missing arm and hole in his chest, Lycan fought to the bitter end.
Bleeding from his face and having used up most of his mana, Unit 737 called down a hovercraft to get him. In the corner of his left eye, he saw something smash into the spaceship.

Heading west, Leo finally realized he wasn't being followed. He caught he breathe when he saw the herd of bison and no beastman in pursuit.
"Sir, two life forms at the early Core Building are coming towards us."
Leo ran over to the herd. This was the first time he was so close to them. Looking at the human near them they felt no threat. Even a young calf came over and nudged him. It was like they accepted him. Something about his mana made the beast trust him.
"Human. I can smell you. Come out." A canine beastman was standing on the building Joe and Leo watched bison from. Looking around he spotted the human walking to the middle of the bison's herd. "Oh don't think those stinky beasts can protect you."
Unit 1203 jumped off the building and ran towards the herd. Sensing the threat coming the group of beast launched a wave of earth at the beastman. The sheer amount of rock shards coming his scared him. He activated two Iron Reapers to defend himself.
"Mmrrrr." A male bison stepped forward and conjured a large earth spear. The beast stomped the ground and sent it flying to Unit 1203.
"Steel Reaper." A new beastman showed up and destroyed the piece of earth hurdling towards Unit 1203. "Unit 1203, how can you let these beast slow you down?"
"Unit 1245. All of these beasts are at the Mana Fighter realm." Getting up, 1203 stared at the bison and the human. "Help me defend so I can attack."
"Fine. Steel Reaper." The second beastman charged at the herd with 1203 following him. The bison launched another wave of rocks at the beastmen, but 1245 defended and 1203 jumped over him and launched a Mana Claw wounding the male bison.
Feeling sorry for using the bison as his personal shield, Leo ran at the two beastmen. Almost in synchronization with Leo, the bison launched two spears at the beastmen. They blocked the spear with their claws, but Unit 1245 was clobbered with a Rock Shot to the face. Flying backward, the beastman landed hard on the ground.
Seeing his partner sent flying, 1203 uses a movement technique to get behind Leo and launches an Iron Reaper at his back. Before he can hit him a bison drives a horn through his back. "Sir, behind you...never mind."
Looking back, he sees the bison stopping the beastman to death. Leo turns around to see 1245 getting up. "You will pay with your life human."
Noticing something behind the beastman, "I would worry more about yourself."
"Shadow Strike." Looking down Unit 1245 saw feline variant's claw plunged through his chest. Shadow then pulled out her fist and kicked the beastman down.
Realizing he can finally relax, Leo breathe a sigh of relief and falls to the ground. Shadow starts to walk over, and the bison slowly move away. The rain still pouring down cools off Leo as he lays there trying to recover his mana.
"Sir watch out." A large chunk of concrete comes flying out of nowhere and lands where Leo just was. Luckily he rolled out of the way. Sitting up he looks over and sees a dark funnel on the edge of town smash into the spaceship.
"Sprite, that is a tornado, isn't it?"
