Chapter 10
Manager Moon It’s all your fault!
The hour long jazz show was over and the lights in the room gradually got brighter and the soft jazz music began to come from the speakers.
Shi Won looked at the ceiling lights and lowered her head and turned her eyes.
It was quieter than before and the awkward atmosphere returned.
“How was it?”
Manager Moon asked quietly.
“It’s been a while since I’ve come to a place like this so I really enjoyed it.”
“That’s a relief.”
The silence invaded them once again and Shi Won lifted her wine glass in front of her and gave it a little sip.
Shi Won, once again began to have stray thoughts, such as ‘Why am I here with this man? How did I get here?’
It’s hard for her to enjoy this situation with this awkward silence.
“Do you come here often?”
“Sometimes, when I have to work or when I’m in a bad mood. I don’t know much about jazz but it’s comforting to listen to when I feel down.”
“Ah…”
She thought he chose this place because it was a good place for a date but she realized he came here for himself.
Anyway, the reason doesn’t matter. Today, she was finally able to get rid of all of the depression from the wedding today and the pent-up emotions from her break up that happened two months ago.
She locked eyes with Manager Moon and he looked at her also.
One hour ago, she thought that he was a swindler or a playboy.
Shi Won looked at Manager Moon and drank the wine that he chose. She wiped the left over wine on her lips with her tongue and softly bit her lips.
“Why are you looking at me like that? Do you have something to say to me?”
Manager Moon asked Shi Won who had a serious expression on her face and eyes. After his question Shi Won’s replied with a serious and quiet voice.
“Can I ask you something?”
“Yes.”
“Manager Moon, what do you do?”
“Yes?”
Oh no… she phrased that question wrongly and asked him without thinking. And she felt right away that she asked him the wrong question.
“What do you mean, what do I do?”
He raised his eyebrows slightly at her question and she asked him again.
“I’m sorry. I meant… you’re identity?… No… Why do you wear those clothes in the office… umm…”
It became the same like an hour ago. Shi Won’s head once again became unorganized and confused on what to say.
“What’s wrong with my appearance?”
Manager Moon pointed out a question that she meant to ask.
“Mm… It’s strange…?”
“…”
“Ah! I’m sorry. I was too straightforward. I speak without thinking.”
Shi Won slapped her lips and apologized right away because Manager Moon gave a tense expression.
“You know what your flaws are. Your loose mouth is your problem.”
Without a doubt. He’s the type to hold a grudge. I even apologized…
“I already apologized to you about what happened at the office dinner! You don’t have to go that far in saying that!”
“That happened in the past. I’m talking about what you said earlier.” (He’s talking about when she confessed)
“What?”
She looked at him with a confused expression.
Manager Moon began drinking from the wine glass. Whenever he swallowed the wine, you could see his adam’s apple moving up and down and each time it moved, Shi Won gradually became more and more nervous.
‘Something I said? Did I make a mistake again?’
No matter how much she tried to recall it. She couldn’t remember anything.

Upon hearing the sound of the wine glass hitting the table, Shi Won’s eyes that were slightly lowered came back up.
Manager Moon’s brown eyes, underneath his eyelashes looked like they were emitting a deep, dark light and he made eye contact with her eyes.
Shi Won knew that her previous behavior at work made him angry before so now she thought that what she said just now made him angry. She clenched her fists tightly in anxiousness.
After a while Manager Moon slowly opened his mouth.
“What were you thinking when you said that you liked me?”
“…”
That was a question that she couldn’t figure out the answer to while staying up all night and judging by his expression, he wanted an answer immediately, so she gave out a panicked expression.
Shi Won gave a more panicked expression than he expected so he crossed his arms and gave out a sigh.
‘Wait a minute… this man… did he know all along?…’
Manager Moon said yes to dating her but why is he asking me why I confessed to him? So she gave him a strange look.
“Then why did you, Manager Moon say ‘absolutely’ to my confession?”
“Absolutely?”
He made eye contact with Shi Won.
“You said that you liked me without any reason, so I accepted your confession for no reason.”
“What?!”
“So you’re saying that even if a person that you don’t like confesses to you and asks you out, you will go out with them?”
“…!…”
Manager Moon gave an expression as if what she said was really absurd.
Then, who’s the person that asked to date first to the person that they don’t even like?…
Shi Won thought that this was going in a bad direction, so she closed her mouth and raised her eyes.
“Hooo…”
Shi Won heard Manager Moon sighing.
“It’s not like that. I accepted your confession because I have a reason.”
Shi Won turned back to Manager Moon and he avoided her gaze.
‘What in the world is he talking about… what reason…’
Shi Won had no idea what Manager Moon was talking about and kept staring at him who was refusing to meet her eyes so she stared at the side of his face.
‘His forehead sticks out a bit, his nose is high, and he has perfectly shaped lips. Why in the world does he hide that good-looking face with that horrible hairstyle and ugly glasses?’
For a moment, she thought that Manager Moon’s jawline looked incredibly sexy and she wrote down a mental note in her head of his good points.
He suddenly turned his head back towards her and they met each others’ eyes.
Like the day when she confessed, strangely, her heart started beating faster again. She couldn’t help but be sucked into his soft eyes that were looking at her and she felt like she was going to melt from his gaze. She had a faint feeling of bewilderment.
He clearly, a different figure from yesterday. But he is definitely the same person she talked to yesterday.
He’s dangerous.
I felt like I was being dragged into the same situation as yesterday by him and lose control of her emotions.
She tried to recover her senses and so she furiously shook her head.
“What.. what are you doing?”
Manager Moon was surprised by her sudden action of shaking her head and looked at her nervously.
She clapped her cheeks with her hands and stopped shaking her head and glared at Manager Moon as if she was angry.
“Wait… why… are you looking at me with those… eyes….”
“This is all your fault!”
“..?..”
Shi Won’s voice was filled with resentment and Manager Moon’s eyes were filled with embarrassment because of her loud voice.
“This is all Manager’s fault!”
“What?”
“Ah! Whatever!”
Now, Shi Won crossed her arms and leaned back on the chair and turned her head away from him.
‘I was such a fool for falling for his mesmerizing gaze.’
No matter how much she thought about it, there was only one possible reason why. It was obvious that she had lost her mind for a moment. This man has a great talent for seducing people.
Shi Won pouted her lips and began muttering to herself.
“What are you talking about?”
In Manager Moon’s eyes, Shi Won just randomly got angry for no reason and began yelling for no reason, so he began looking at her body up and down in confusion.
Today, Manager Moon was embarrassed because of her several times today and he thought it was absurd the way she was acting right now.
“I’m done. Let’s break up.”
“What did you say?”
He was probably the man who was dumped in the shortest time ever.
“No. That’s a little strange. Just act like this never happened.”
He was also probably the man who was told that their relationship every happened.
“Hur… This is so ridiculous.”
“Exactly, this is ridiculous, so let’s stop now.”
“No!”
“Wh- why?”
“It’s unfair.”
Shi Won grit her teeth and knitted her brows.
“Am I someone who you can just confess to when you want to and break up with whenever you want? I refuse to break up with you because this situation is unfair!”
“What are you talking about? Then are you saying that you really want to date me?”
She couldn’t see the slightest sign of lying in his eyes and Manager Moon tucked in his chin and stared at Shi Won.
“Yes! That’s what I plan to do. You said that because of me. Now I’ll take responsibility.”
