Faustina had been fidgeting as she got out of her room. What was making her nervous? That—she doesn't know. First thing she knew was that she was feeling anxious because she was having dinner with the schoolmistress' son. But that does not have any corresponding meaning other than that certain fact and Sheila's words.

Faustina walked to the castle of her dormitory, and naturally, they would give her glances. Curious and prying glances. She was, after all, dressed and looks like she was ready to go somewhere else.

She passed by the halls and the stairs until she finally reached the lobby. And then, sauntering towards the student clerk who was the prefect of Ianua VI, she was greeted with a welcoming smile.

"Oh, if it isn't Faustina, the girl with the irregular mana."

Faustina shifted uncomfortably.

"Don't mind her," a guy with glasses and a prefect badge over his arm. Probably another prefect—and it looks like he was their senior as well. "Now then, what can we do for you?"

Prefects. They are senior officers that are tasked to enforce discipline to both their underclassmen and the Ianua they belong. Prefects are graduating students who are selected by either popularity poll or their grades. The selected prefects then perform their own duties, and also earns a badge upon their graduation which certifies them as top outstanding students of their classes.

"I'm going at the town," Faustina exclaimed. The bespectacled young man nodded, and then written down Faustina's name. The students usually log their names whenever they would go outside and inside the dormitory.

"Dinner?" The guy asked with a smile.

Faustina stares at the young man. "Don't get past the curfew. Take care," he said.

"A date~?" The other prefect asked.

Faustina only smiled.

Sauntering towards the main door was a braided girl wearing a pastel-pink dress. Her look was different tonight, and of course, it did not escape Leviticus' eyes.

"Faustina?" Michelle said as she ambled her way towards Faustina, who beamed in a pleasant surprise upon seeing the two. Leviticus and Michelle just came back to the dorm after they have studied into the main library of the school. Supposedly they opted to visit Faustina, but when they went to the infirmary, she was already gone.

"Where are you going, don't you feel sick earlier?" Michelle asked; worry could be traced all over her face.

"I'm going to town," Faustina answered with a small smile. "Don't worry about me, Michelle. I'm alright."

"Are you sure? But well… you look better now compared this morning. In fact, you look radiant!" Michelle praised.

She was getting more casual and comfortable around Faustina, who received her well despite being the duke's daughter. Leviticus heard that noble standards in Feuersturm are taken quite to high levels.

The social circle, after all, holds quite the influence over the country. Those who belong to higher class are the leading entrepreneurs, land owners, and the like. They are the driving force of a country's economy. Angering an important person would result in your house's downfall, if you are several steps lower from them. This is why—in any country—nobles are bred to know when to act petty and when to act dignified. The Feuerlons are famous for being the branching family of royalty, so they hold quite the highest authority next to the monarchs. Leviticus figured that Faustina may only be able to tolerate things at a certain scale.

"Thank you," Faustina gave Michelle a genuine smile.

She looked different today. Although her outfit was simple, she still emanated a different air.

"It's almost time for dinner," Leviticus asked, tilting his head. "Are you sure you won't wait for the dinner before going to town?"

Faustina blinked, and then fidgeted for a bit.

"W-well, I'm in a bit of a hurry."

"Kya!"

"Oh god, is that who I thought it is?!"

"No way! What is he doing here?"

Leviticus slowly turned towards the source of the commotion.

The prefects glanced to the unexpected visitor—

"Ezekiel Johann Unsterblich…" Michelle murmured as she stares at Ezekiel, who looked equally radiant.

"This is the first time I've seen him wearing casual clothes!"

"He looks so noble!"

"As expected of a young man from Ianua I… the next schoolmaster!"

Girls and boys alike admired Ezekiel from a distance. His amethyst eyes and silver hair complemented his gentle and handsome features. Even Leviticus found him to be enthralling to look at.

Ezekiel's amethyst eyes then drifted to them. Michelle blinked, realizing he was looking at their direction.

Ezekiel sauntered towards them, which harbored a concealed squeal to those who those who are near. Many students were now coming to the lobby as they look at this unexpected guest.

Leviticus turned to Ezekiel, who now stood in front of them.

In front of Faustina.

**

Faustina doesn't exactly know what else to do. People were looking at them—or more specifically, him.

Ezekiel.

He came towards the dorm itself—inside the lobby.

"You're beautiful," Ezekiel smiles as he sees Faustina. He was looking at her with amethyst eyes dreamy and beautiful. Faustina couldn't help but blush. It wasn't that she had any attachment to Ezekiel or what not. It was that he looked too pretty, and he came inside the dormitory himself.

"Th-thank you," Faustina murmured. "You look good, too…"

Ezekiel smiled gently as he leans to Faustina, lending out his hand. "May I?"

Faustina, out from instinct as per Lovellia's teachings, dr.a.p.ed her fingers gently to Ezekiel's palm. Ezekiel smiled as he kissed the back of Faustin's hand.

He smiled.

"Should we get going?" He asked. Miss Feuerlon."

**

"What was that? Are they dating?"

"This soon?"

"But she's the duke of Feuersturm's daughter… so maybe they knew each other before this?"

"It isn't fair. I'm a noblewoman too."

After Faustina left, the students chattered about her and Ezekiel. The moment Michelle and Leviticus came to the great hall, they were bombarded with talks about Faustina being 'fancied' by the schoolmistress' son, Ezekiel.

"She's probably doing it in secret. What a cunning and secretive girl. She's like a snake!"

"I bet she's been flirting with him while putting on an innocent façade," one of the girls murmured.

"Don't," Leviticus exclaimed, stopping Michelle who now stood up from her seat in rage.

"Why not? They're badmouthing Faustina!" Michelle argued.

Leviticus only sighed. "What else would that bring? They can talk among themselves but in the end they would only die out of curiosity. We can ask Faustina about it when she arrives, so right now let's just let this pass so we wouldn't be bringing trouble to her."

Michelle sighed, sitting down.

"You're right." Michelle then blinked as she looks around.

"What's wrong?" Leviticus asked.

"That reminds me…" said Michelle, with her eyes still glued somewhere else, trying to find a certain person. "He's not here."

"Who?" Leviticus asked, looking around as well. He stopped with a sideway glanced at Michelle.

"Anakin."

**

Anakin and Lilianne didn't search far and wide for a good restaurant to appear, in fact, after surveying few of the people around the city, they were given the same response.

"The Firefly Feast."

"The firefly feast?" Lilianne repeated.

"Yes, young lady. That's the usual place where nobles such as yourselves get into. It's by far the most expensive restaurant in here, and it is owned by the Unsterblichs themselves."

"Oh!" Lilianne clapped her hands, turning to her brother. "Does that mean there's a possibility I'll see Ezekiel there?"

"Oho. The young master, huh?"

"Yes!" Lilianne smiled at the old man. "Is he coming to the restaurant often? I would love to see him."

"Hm… unfortunately, Young Lady, the young master doesn't frequent in restaurants. Whenever he comes in town he basically just investigates things and the like,"

"Huh," Lilianne crossed her arms. "Alright then."

The old man watched Lilianne walking away proudly.

"Is she your sister?" The old man asked.

"Yes," Anakin answered.

"I see." The old man smiled. "It's my first time seeing you here without the other three,"

Anakin tilted his head. "The other three?"

May it be Magierstadt's custom or what, but it seems like the old man doesn't know how nobles fare in talking to commoners. Nonetheless, Anakin listened to the old man, waiting for what he is to say.

"The short-haired girl, the boy, and the grey-haired girl." The old man said.

"Ah." Anakin stares at the old man, unsure of what else to say.

This old man probably have seen them four together strolling around the town. They have, after all, done it almost every week at their free time. It wouldn't be a surprise if some merchant actually remembered them.

The old man only smiled at Anakin as he finished observing his expression.

"Are they your friends?"

Anakin's expression softened.

"Yes,"

"Bring them next time here to my stall. I think you and your friends will like my wares."

"Sure," Anakin exclaimed. "I'll do that next time."

The old man smiled. "You should get going, your sister is already far head."

Anakin gave the old man a slight nod before trotting away from him.

"Now then," the old man's expression sharpened as his wrinkled face began to change, his hair color shifting from dirty brown to paper-white. Suddenly, he was a different person.

He pulled the hood of his robe down.

"Now then," he licked his lips. "I wonder which string I'm going to pull in order to do to satisfy Lady L.u.s.t?"
