After two hours, when the door of the ICU opened, Sheng Ruming went inside after the doctor let him.
He glanced over the woman who was sleeping on the bed. When he got to her and touched her hands, unexpectedly she slowly opened her eyelids.
"You are awake?"
"Mmm…" Luo Lixi glanced at the hand that was holding her. As she tried to sit, Sheng Ruming supported her.
"It's okay. I can move by myself." Even then, the man insisted on helping her. He sat down beside her and asked, his voice was full of worry, "Has the doctor said anything? What happened to you?"
He put his hand on her cheek and rubbed the dry skin. Luo Lixi removed her oxygen mask and glanced at him. As both of them stared at each other, nobody talked anything.
Suddenly, she went ahead and hugged Sheng Ruming tightly. The man saw as she hid her face in his embrace and began to whin.
"Don't cry. I am here. It's all my fault…" He whispered and cautiously hugged her back.
"Why say sorry?! Did you do something wrong?" She raised her head and asked.
"... I don't know. If you are crying then it's definitely my fault." Sheng Ruming whispered with so much seriousness that she couldn't help but smile.
"You did nothing wrong. Just check whoever got into contact with my car. The air I breathed in had poisonous substances…" Luo Lixi murmured and whispered, "Don't tell other people about it. Not even grandfather. I have told the doctors to not leak it either."
Sheng Ruming had already turned stiff when he heard the word 'poisonous'. His heart began to beat with so much fear that he felt like he would have heart failure soon.
He looked down only to see her pale face. His two hands clutched her patients' clothes and his voice shook as the man asked in fear, "Are you okay?! Poisonous air… should I take you to a better hospital to take treatment?!"
Luo Lixi put her head in his nap and softly muttered, "No. I am alright. It didn't cause me much harm as it wasn't fatal enough. The doc said I am okay. Just need some rest to recover."
"All right then. You can rest. I will stay beside you." Even though she hummed, her body didn't move even an inch. Rather, she hugged him tightly and closed her eyes.
Sheng Ruming didn't push her away and let her do whatever she wanted. Soon, the room's door opened and a nurse came.
"Ah, why did she remove her oxygen mask?!" The nurse asked in displeasure. She went towards them and wanted to touch Luo Lixi but the man stopped her and pointed at himself.
"Lixi, you have to put on the mask. "
"... alright." Luo Lixi picked the mask and put it on her face. Then she went to hug Sheng Ruming and quietly dropped her head on his shoulder and became motionless like a dead person.
The nurse glanced at her for a second and then injected a drug in the saline she was given. After she left, Luo Lixi grabbed Sheng Ruming's collar and whispered, her face blank.
"Ruming, take me away. I don't want the company! Nor grandfather's property or anything from him! Just take me away! I can't live with threats like this!"
Her shaking voice explained everything she was feeling right then. The man dragged her into his arms and encircled her. He muttered, "I will go to the end of this matter. Also, you have become like this, there is no way I will let you go to your damn home."
His face became dark and gloomy. The man felt like chopping all those useless bodyguards of hers.
'Those damn trash! Did they buy their license?!' If Luo Lixi wasn't holding him back, he would have gone back to drag those men to his training ground back in Ming city and taught them how a proper bodyguard should act.

With the old man's wrinkled hands, he grabbed her hands but upon watching her terrible complexion, he lost his words.
"I am doing fine." Her face forced out a smile for the elderly. At the sight of it, Luo Qintian couldn't bring himself to ask anything more.
'Just that, I didn't expect people to come after you again…' The old man blamed himself for everything that happened to her, 'It's all my fault. If I didn't call Yichen, nothing would have happened…'
As Luo Lixi saw the man's dejected expression, she patted on his hands and said, "I am really fine. It was nothing."
Luo Qintian raised his eyes as if to ask 'Really?!'. In return, she showed just a sweet smile.
Zhao Yichen went before her and apologized while bowing, "It's all my fault. I failed in my responsibility…"
