The air was stifled inside a room in BlueBell where six people sitting around the table, one man standing close while holding a black laptop while they looking at each other. Flashing back to an hour ago, Sophie and Shawn finally arrived at the Rendezvous where Vincent and Sara awaits.
"You were late, Sophie," Sara said as the couple took their seat.
"We were stuck in heavy traffic."
"No traffic jams from Starlight to here." Vincent interlude.
"I wasn't from Starlight," Sophie replied in short.
She hasn't told Vincent nor anyone her plan to cohabit with Shawn at his place. She had a taste of the heavenly fruit, then asking her to be monk afterward? Definitely not willing! She needs her Adonis dose every day! Not one can be missed!
As Shawn was introduced briefly to Sara, the entrance door was opened from outside and instead of expecting a person to walk in, there were two. Sophie was startled and looked at her brother for an answer but the shocked in his eyes made her understood that he didn't expect the other guest.
John entered the room in delight, making his way towards Vincent for a greeting with Michael following him from behind silently. They shared a warm handshake and greeting before taking their seat at the empty space.
"I met Michael unexpectedly when I was on my way here. Since we are meeting for dinner at BlueBell, I invited him as well. Hope you all okay?" John explained.
"Since I'm intruding in, allow me to serve you all with BlueBell's best dishes.", Michael reply in polite.
Vincent and Sara looked at each other and they gave it a nod. They can always gather to discuss another time. The server comes in to serve dinner, close the door behind them afterward and they start to dine.
Afterward, servers return to clear the table and serve dessert and wines. Clinking wine glasses, they continue to make small talk with each other.
"So, Vincent. What is it that you wanted us to meet here tonight?"
"Nothing urgent, John."
"Ah, don't let my presence tonight ruin your plan, Vincent. If you want, I can swear secrecy." Michael chirped in when he heard Vincent and John conversation.
Sophie gave it a thought and look at her brother as a sign of support to let Michael heard their discussion as well. Well, she does have a slight bias towards good looking guy though. Since no objection coming from Sara or Sophie, Vincent conceded.
"We actually wanted to ask you about this." Vincent began while taking out a picture and handed it over to John. Shawn that was sitting next to him was shocked when he recognized the kissing couple in the photo. He quickly looks at Sophie as he wondered if she had seen the photo before. Little that he knows that not only Sophie saw the picture before, she even large print it and hung it in her apartment.
"A photo of kissing couple?" John asked in bewildered. He doesn't know who the couple is and what the relationship with him.
"Look at the image reflected at road concave mirror instead." Sara reply short. She was grinning at Shawn that was embarrassed with his ears slightly tint. Adorable.
The image wasn't that clear that made hard for either John or Shawn to identify, so Vincent handed over a much clearer photo. Michael that was peeking at the passed photo was dumbfounded. He knew the person on the photo.
Sophie accidentally saw his expression, but she remained quiet. Shawn and John that was looking at the photo still unable to recognize the person. Hence, Shawn asked in brief, "Who is he?"
Since Shawn was asking, Sophie replied to him instantly.
"His name is Cain. We suspected him had a relationship with deceased Sebastian from GE."
The name Sebastian familiar to Shawn and John - it was their father's friend. Looking at their expression, Sara took a file that contains the Paradox information. Shawn took the file and began to read its content first before sharing it to John and later Michael took it for a read.
"From our investigation, we found a link - 'Paradox'. However, this pointed us to another mystery, another puzzle. As you were aware, Paradox is linked to something called 'Pandora'. So, do you know anything about any of these?"
"Pandora?" Both Shawn and John mumbled softly. They do hear about Pandora before but unable to recall it. Michael again shows a shocked expression before disguised it soon afterward. Sophie who was observing him knew he had a knowledge on this matter as well. Perhaps Michael could be the key to solving this.
Sophie trying to push Shawn into remembering a file in his old laptop, faked a guilty face before speaking anxiously while looking at Shawn.
"I actually found this in your room."
Sophie handed over the card with the word 'Pandora' on top. This caused Shawn to remember this card was mailed to him anonymously before. He hasn't looked into it and totally forgot all about it later.
When Sophie noticed Shawn unchanging expression, she continued.
"I send this to check and I found traces of three individual fingerprint. Yours, late Sebastian and a person named Satoshi. Shawn, do you have anything that might be a clue on this 'Pandora'? Maybe a letter? Or file in your computer?"
Sophie went for a straight ball. But instead of Shawn, it was John that remembering it first.
"Shawn, I think I know where 'Pandora' is," John exclaimed in delight.
'Finally, something that I could contribute to!'
Shawn looked at his brother in confusion while. John looking back at Shawn and started to remind him about the file he downloaded from EDEM years ago, during their school years. He begins to recite about how he prevents server attack on EDEM at plum blossom groove in YZ Elite School. Shawn finally remembered.
"Where is it now?" Sara asked in anxious. She has been looking for Cain for months and Pandora might give her a clue to what might have happened between Cain and her mentor. If not, hopefully, would point her to Cain were about.
"In storeroom in my parents' house," Shawn answered lightly as he trying to remember something else. John volunteer to call his assistant to go and pick it up but was declined by Shawn. Instead, he asked for a laptop instead as he remembered he uploaded everything inside the hard disk into his private secured cloud.
"Let me made an arrangement for you," Michael said after contemplating for quite a while. He calls the server in waiting and left him with commands. After a short few minutes, the door was knocked from outside, asking for entry.
When the person entered, everyone was shocked and dumbfounded, except for Michael House. That brought them to the latest situation on hand.
