Zan Fu was releasing heavy breaths. He could barely feel his fingers due to the paralyzing effect of the lightning. His body was trembling from pain and his usually straight, flat, and black hair was standing straight up, giving him a shamate appearance.

The longsword in his hand had several cracks inside of it. This was the damage done after two more lightning bolts. Zan Fu wasn't sure how long the sword would last, but he predicted only one or two more strike would destroy it.

And he would only be half finished with the tribulation at that point. Zan Fu was running out of options, his energy was almost depleted and his weapon was breaking apart.

As the next lighting formed, he raised up his weapon and prepared himself for the next attack. It struck down with blinding speed, this one was faster than all of the other bolts he had dealt with.

It streaked around and encircled him, suddenly it charged forward and Zan Fu barely reacted quick enough to pull the sword back and thrust it at the chain of lightning.

The two collided and sparks flew everywhere. Zan Fu's noticed that the blade was becoming red hot and its tip was melting. He gave off one last push and pierced through the lightning.

The weapon in his hand liquified into a puddle of molten metal right by his feet. The strike was destroyed but it removed the only thing Zan Fu could use defend himself.

He took a step back and looked to the sky with a blank expression, "Welp, this is how my life ends. Being struck down by lightning like a kite in the middle of a storm." Zan Fu wasn't even that worried, he knew that the path of cultivation was a heartless one.

Every step was one constantly on the brink of death, so it wasn't like he wasn't prepared to die. To tread on this path, he needed a strong heart and death wasn't something that would faze him.

Or so he would think to himself if he wasn't inwardly cursing at how bullsh*t this was! Zan Fu did not want to die. Although he didn't want to, Zan Fu had no idea what he could do to get through this tribulations.

Drodon flew over and floated by his head, "Zan Fu, if you want to survive you need to destroy your cultivation. If you do this, there is a 49.37% chance of the tribulation cloud dissipating." When Drodon said this, fireworks were exploding in Zan Fu's brain.

"Drodon, What are the chances of you surviving through this tribulation?"

Drodon paused for a second before responding, "It's a little over 75%, why are you ask-?... No"

Zan Cu gave off a wide, toothy grin, "Yes."

"No!"

"Yes!"

Within the next ten seconds he was holding Drodon up in the air in the direction of the lightning bolt. "I do NOT approve of this!" Zan Fu just gave off a small chuckle, "Don't worry, your survival chance is over 75%."

Drodon screamed out in a uncharacteristically panicked voice, "If you don't release me right now, then our friendship is over!"

"Hi, nice to meet you! What is your name?" Zan Fu saw the lightning flow down, slower than the others but it was twice as large.

"Don't act like we don't know each oth- AHHH!" Score Drodon could finish, the bolt got closer so Zan Fu swung Drodon around and smacked the plasma based attack.

They were both literally shocked by the fierceness of the strike and Zan Fu was even pushed back three meters. He took some damage from the attack, it wasn't very significant damage. In fact, he was able to heal most of the wounds he obtained after allowing his cultivation to flow throughout his body.

The next four strikes were extremely simple for him to deal with. Thanks to Drodon's incredibly durable body, he basically had the ultimate shield.

The fourteenth strike finally formed but Zan Fu noticed that it was a bit different from the others. The lightning was golden like the sun and it didn't give off any strong for or pressure the other bolts had. It felt very comfortable, like a soft blanket. But when Drodon saw this form, he excitedly called out to Zan Fu.

"Wait! Don't use me for this one. Use this thing instead!" A strange phantom-like object formed next to them and Zan Fu grabbed it. It was a sort of scaly claw that was two meters tall and half a meter wide.

The strange claw was blue, it felt warm in his grasp and he swore that he felt some life force from it. The claw had only four fingers and they were half bent. There were gigantic nails covering the tip of the fingers. The nails were as sharp as the blade of a sword, and felt incredibly durable.

Drodon later explained that it wasn't actually very strong, but it had a unique ability to grow along with its user. Its powers would also be greatly boosted once he reached the sixth realm, but that was something that will be discovered in the future.

Zan Fu listened to Drodon's pleads and decided to use the claw instead of Drodon himself. The lightning snakes down slowly like a man calmly walking to work.

As he lifted it up, the bolt actually enveloped the the claw and Zan Fu instead of harming them. He felt a strange power enter into his heart and soul. Zan Fu also noticed a stream of energy connecting his heart to the claw.

The longer the energy enveloped them, the thicker the stream became. He felt a connection with the claw and he could even feel thought coming from it. "Is this...?"

Drodon excitedly exclaimed, "I honestly wasn't sure if that would work. There was actually a 87.19% chance that the claw would disintegrate within your grasp!"

He flew over and rubbed himself against the claw, "But now that you succeeded, you have just gained something incredible. Zan Fu, say hello to your new bonded weapon!"

Zan Fu's smiling face was short lived however. The next bolt formed and struck down at him, hitting him squarely in the back. He keeled over and screamed while reaching out to check the condition of his back. His screams quieted down when he noticed that there was almost no pain.

He carefully traced the air on his spine where he was stricken. It felt unharmed and the area of the attack even felt very comfortable. Drodon explained that the last four strikes had barely any power, they were used to strengthen his body and cultivation instead.

The last chain of lightning formed and Zan Fu didn't even try paying attention to it, "Its almost finished." Drodon stayed silent as he calmly watched the bolt form, at the last second Drodon voice called out in a panicky fashion, "Zan Fu! Don't drop your guard, this last one is strange!"

Before Zan Fu could react to his words, all of the light surrounding them disappeared and darkness devoured their sights. Without even knowing what was happening, a powerful force blew through Zan Fu and he felt as if his insides had been deep fried in hot sauce.

In other words, he felt like he was on fire. He arched his back in pain. Zan Fu didn't understand what just happened. He acted on instinct and immediately revolved his cultivation inside of his body.

As he felt the pain fade away, his power suddenly went wild. His Bodley was no longer being healed, it was being damaged instead. He coughed out some blood and clutched at his chest. His heart was beating rapidly and his blood was boiling hot. Zan Fu scratched at his collar and ripped off his shirt.

He scratched at his own skin and formed several bloody claw marks. His blood flowed down his body and Zan Fu noticed that instead of being red, his blood was blue. The blue blood left behind stains on his body and the trail started to sizzle and steam. He felt as if he was being grilled into a delicious meal.

All of a sudden he couldn't breathe. His body wouldn't listen to us directions.

As the marks on his body increased, so did the aura surrounding him. Zan Fu didn't know this due to being the distracted by the burning sensation, but Drodon noticed. He silently watched as Zan Fu's strength gained a massive increase.

If Drodon had a face, he would have a large smile on it right now.

Meanwhile at Zan Fu's home. An unexpected visitor had arrived.

"Have you been here before master?"

"No, but this body has, I'm just following it's muscle memory." The entity walked toward the gates in front of Zan Fu's home. The guards there noticed Braedon walk toward them and they froze confusion.

"Braedon?" They were well aware of their young master's friend and classmate, Braedon. They also remembered how the master and mistress had stated that if they were to see him anywhere, they were to attack on sight.

This order confused them and in that moment of confusion, the entity waved his hand over them and they froze in place.

"Don't mind me, I'm just here for a quick visit."
