Cheers rang out from the crowds that were currently surrounding Shu Rong and Zan Rong in the courtyard of Zan Fu's house. He felt his eye twitching at how tournament-like the setting currently felt. Right at this moment, Shu Rong and Zan Rong were standing in opposite direction facing each other.
There was a hidden battle currently going on in Zan Fu's mind with one side supporting Shu Rong and the other side not wanting his father to lose this mock battle. He did not know whose side to support and in the end Zan Fu decided to just sit back and watch how things played out.
"*Sigh* Lets just see what will happen."
Shu Rong gave a small nod and smile towards Zan Rong and she reached into her outfit and pulled out two pitch black knives. These blades were something she had been working on for a while. Her bonded weapon was made out of a rare and unique material. The interesting feature of the material she used was that it grew stronger along with her.
Weapons that grew stronger along with their users were rare and almost impossible to find . An artifact that had that unique ability was something that even Divinities would desire with all of their hearts, and a growing pair of blades that had been raised up into a cultivator's bonded weapon was something even Zan Rong had never seen before.
Zan Rong gave off an I pressed whistle as he said, "I never expected you to have something like that, but why have I never seen you use it before?"
Shu Rong was taking a small gamble when she revealed her hand. The reason that she had never used these blades before was due to how they were meant to be used. The knives would slowly siphon energy from her body over time and reserve it in its own private storage only to be released in powerful strikes whenever they were used. The problem was that it took quite a while before the blades could be fully charged and they once they began charging it could not be stopped until one hundred percent was reached. Luckily, the weapons were completed a few days ago.
Shu Rong knew that using the blades in a worthless mock battle would be a waste of energy, but she still chose to do this for two reasons. One, it gave her a chance to test out the capabilities of the weapons. And two, she set it so that only 15% of the weapon's full power would be use. And as long as she didn't start to recharge it, the other 85% of power was still perfectly usable.
"There was just no need to use it. Besides, I haven't reveal all of my trump cards yet." Shu Rong said this while Zan Rong brought up his arm and clenched his hands into fists.
One of the butlers stepped up and raised a flag into the sky and waved it down after screaming, "3...2...1...Fight!"
Shu Rong used her legs to launch herself forward while crossing her two blades together. As soon as she got close enough, Shu Rong took the blade in her right hand and swung it down toward Zan Rong. As the blade came towards him, Zan Rong gave off a smirk and lifted his hand up to stop the blade. He used only two fingers to stop the knife attack. But as soon as the blade was stopped, Shu Rong used the knife, which was now stuck in place, to swing herself behind him.
She slammed her knee into the back of Zan Rong's head, but that too was stopped by his other alpha dog.
"You're going to have to try better than that." Zan Rong released his grasp upon her and Shu Rong was able to move back a few steps. "But now it is my turn." With those words said, Zan Rong brought back one fist and thrusted it out, releasing a ball of power towards Shu Rong's direction.
She quickly dodged out of the way and charged toward hima second time. Jumping over any fist attacks he unleashed, Shu Rong finally got right next to him and began stabbing the tip of her blades forward.
Left-right-left-left-right-left-right-right-right, she continuously stabbed out several times withlottoe to no success as Zan Rong would quickly knock away her arm. He released his own fist in return and as hushed tried to jump to the side, his other fist swung up towards her face.
She crossed her arms over her face and waited for the impact. The strike knocked her arms away from her face and her defense was broken in only a single punch. Shu Rong spun around midair and landed back onto her feetafter spitting out some blood, she looked up at her targets and took in a deep breath.
Her presence began to feel a bit hazy and weird. Even the people who were watching her directly felt as if her form was disappearing. Zan Rong nodded while saying to herself, "It looks like you are finally giving it your all."
Although he was watching her carefully, Zan Rong had to blink once. As soon as his eyes closed and reopened, Shu Rong had disappeared.
She reappeared right behind him and stabbed both of the knives into Zan Rong's neck, but they struck air and he moved his head aside. After that failed attempt, she flipped back a few times and stared deep into Zan Rong's eyes.
"This is impossible isn't it? I can't win."
"Why don't you use you last trick?" Zan Rong wasn't a fool who let his guard down if his opponent claimed that they have lost. He knew that there was one last thing that Shu Rong could do and he was just waiting for it.
She smiled as the two knives were held up in front of her. The hairs on Zan Rong's arms began to stand on end as the air began to give off an electrifying feeling. Small streaks of energy shot from the blades, into Shu Rong's arms. The air began to heat up as the color of the black knives suddenly became scarlet red.
"Prepare yourself!" Shu Rong gave off a loud shout as two blazing red beams of light shot toward. With a serious expression, Zan Rong brought his hand up slapped the air several time in order to release a current of wind to blow the beams away.
The light slabsed through every current he shot ar it and in the Zan Rong was forced to bring his hands up together and release a resounding clap ~smack!~ which completely obliterated the beams as well as the landscape around him.
"Interesting attack..." Just as he said this, Shu Rong's knife suddenly appeared out of nowhere stabbing into his chest. A field of power bursted out of his body and it knocked Shu Rong aside like a paper bag in the wind. She fell back and almost crashed into the ground before Zan Fu appeared from behind and caught her.
Shu Rong was disoriented for a few seconds, but after noticing the person who caught her, she said in surprise, "Zan Fu! What are you doing here? I'm still in the middle of a fight right now!"
Zan Fu shook his head slowly, "You need to stop, look at your opponent compared to yourself. If you keep doing this, you might be seriously injured."
"I know that I was the only one who was injured in the confrontation, but all I need to do is give him one small cut to claim victory!"
"You won't succeed, Shu Rong." Zan Fu still didn't release her as he wrapped her arm around his shoulders and supported her up.
"And why won't I win?"
"Look at his feet." Shu Rong looked down towards Zan Rong's feet after Zan Fu had said that. She finally noticed something that hadn't even occurred to her before. Zan Rong's feet were exactly in the same spot they were in when they first started. He had not moved an inch.
As the realization struck, a sad expression appeared on Shu Rong's face as she nodded in understanding, "Okay, I concede."
Zan Rong releases a loud laugh as he walked over to them. "You are wrong Shu Rong, I am the one who should be conceding."
He held out the T-shirt that he was wearing that said, "World's #1 Dad" and revealed that a hole was cut into an area of the shirt near his heart. "It seems that your attack speed was just slightly faster than my own defense. Well, I am a fair man and a promise is a promise. Shu Rong, both you and Zan Fu will be joining us on the raid in a few days. Welcome to the party!"
A shock and surprised look appeared on her face as Shu Rong turned her head over to Zan Fu who said, "Congratulations, it looks like you aren't a failure."

But as soon as the blade was stopped, Shu Rong used the knife, which was now stuck in place, to swing herself behind him.
She slammed her knee into the back of Zan Rong's head, but that too was stopped by his other alpha dog.
