The Biography of Albrecht – Prologue

Translator: Nezu

A boy was staring at the horizon outside his bedroom’s window. The dimly lit sky seemed to signal that the morning sun would soon rise.

The boy thought to himself. Until recently, nature was awe-inspiring, full of mystery and secrets but he couldn’t feel the same anymore. Rather, he still admired the beauty of nature, but he knew that the sun, which stretches out from the horizon to the whole world, was a star. He knew that the world was not flat but round. He knew that water vapor gathers and eventually becomes clouds and causes rain.

He was confused. Originally, he was a 30-year-old ordinary office worker who was preparing for a new job in a country called South Korea on a planet called Earth. He got a job that everyone envied, but he needed to work tirelessly day and night. He decided to get a new job where he could have a guaranteed amount of leisure time. It gave less money, even so, it was going smoothly.

He had no intentions of getting married yet, there was also no problem with his finances. The only thing he lacked was time. So when he finally had the time, he planned to enjoy his life playing games, traveling, and meeting with friends…

His thoughts stopped for a while when the door suddenly opened and a skinny old man came in. He had a messy beard and a deep bald head, but the remaining hairs seemed to have grown quickly.

“Young master, you’re awake. I brought you some water to wash.”

“Thanks, Hans.”

Hans was the butler of the family. He wasn’t only a butler but also a person who was responsible for miscellaneous administrative affairs of the estate.

Hans oddly looked at the boy. The boy looked at him and smiled, “Is it so strange that I said thanks?”

“Oh no, young master. I’ll be back when breakfast is ready.”

When Hans closed the door and went out, the boy became a bit serious. It was strange indeed.

He was obviously a stranger, but seeing Hans was the same as seeing someone familiar to him. When he saw him, he unknowingly looked down on him and considered him as one that could be treated carelessly. But words that came out of his mouth were kind.

The boy soon stopped thinking and went to the washbasin on the table to wash his face. He wiped his face and neck with the white cloth that was brought with the basin and then headed to the mirror in the corner of the room. The mirror was kind of dull, not the usual type that is usually seen on Earth but it was enough to see his face.

He saw a boy with short blond hair, his eyebrows were thick, his eyes looked pure, and his nose was straight. Above all, his jewel-like blue eyes were the most attractive.

He looked at the boy in the mirror and spoke.

“Albrecht, this damn worthless bastard.”
