Chapter 13: Grandmother Approved

Kenzo understood that he shouldn't fall in love but it's his wife and she gave him a good life at the moment. Now, it's time to repay her. He had lots of things running in his head. But right now, they took pictures together and he took pictures of her. A lot of it. She looked adorable and photogenic. Then, they lay down while he charged the phone for four hours. He set an alarm for it.
He spooned her and held the hot pad on her navel and pulled the duvet to cover it to their body.
"I swear, after this period, we will have endless lovemaking."
He chuckled and kissed her cheek. He couldn't sleep at all and he cuddled with her until she fell asleep. He gently took the hot pad and put it away. Then, he lay on his back as he stared at the ceiling. He didn't know what to do to make his life become better. He didn't own a big company. He's an orphan and he's not rich at all. But he needed to do something to be rich so he could fulfill every wants that his wife wanted although she would say that she didn't need it or want it.
He didn't know how long he'd been thinking when the phone alarm. He unplugged it and put the charger in the drawer. Then, he turned on the phone. His wife looked tired from work and she moved sideways to him. He smiled at the adorable wife. Then, he captured a photo of her. They sleep with a lamp on and he could have a wallpaper now. He put away his phone. He went downstairs to double-check every lock although he was sure that he locked it. He unplugged a few things again and a sound of a car that was parked nearby can be heard. He went to the window and checked the car. It looked familiar to him. If this is a threat, he won't let anyone hurt his wife.
The car stayed there in front of their house and he waited for a driver to come out but the windshield on the shotgun seat rolled down a little. Two people are inside and one has a long binocular looking through the house. He hid on the side only peeking by the window. He almost held his breath. They stayed for twenty minutes checking out the house and he made sure that he recognized the car and if there was anything peculiar about it.
The car left. It might be robbers but he will call the security by tomorrow. He went outside and checked the gate and peeked outside if they left something. Then, he went back inside and locked the door.
"Kenz," His wife came down scratching her head.
"I just check on something, V." He carried her in his arms and she gasped.
She flushed from what he did and he grinned as he took her back upstairs to their room. He kicked the door and brought her to the bed. He laid her down and gave her lots of kisses on the face. She giggled and hugged him.
"What were you doing a while ago?"
"I have to check on a few things." He kissed her forehead. "I have to make sure that you are safe."
He kissed more and this time with tongue and she hummed and hugged him.
"Damn the period. We could've done it right away!" She complained.
"Don't worry. We'll have to wait for a few more days." He kissed her lips. "Tomorrow might be the last day of your period." He grinned.
"Let's go back to sleep."
He pulled the duvet and covered it to their body as she snuggled to his chest. She fell asleep after and he thought of those people who were peeking into her house. But he'll recognize them soon.
They both woke up late since it's Saturday. But Kenzo got up at eight and kissed her forehead. He went to the bathroom to brush his teeth and washed his face. Then, he kissed her lips again before going downstairs to prepare for breakfast.
He just saw a taco dough on the fridge. He thought of a taco sandwich for breakfast that he saw from the Internet when he used her desktop. He made his guacamole and prepared other ingredients that he needed. Just in time when he put it in the oven.
"Kenz, we are going to the hospital before we go shopping." She said as she walked toward him and hugged him. "Good morning."
He kissed her lips.
"So, what should I prepare for your grandma?"
"Hmm, something healthy. She loves tacos…"
"It's good that I made tacos. It's very healthy and it's our breakfast."
"No rice?" She grinned.
"No, baby." He kissed her lips. "I'll fill your stomach with food later."
"Make more of those. Grandma would love it."
He wanted to impress her grandma so he sealed it in a very palatable way. He also prepared a very nutritious smoothie. They left at nine-thirty and she drove to the hospital. He's quite nervous to meet her grandmother and when they enter, her grandmother looks at him from head to toe. They are both wearing a white shirt and jeans. Like normal people would.
"Hello, Ma'am. I'm Kenzo." He extended his hand toward her. She only looked at it.
"You are good-looking." She said. "More handsome than the ex-fiance." Her grandmother looked at Victoria. "I won't ask anything for a moment. I want a great-grandchild Victoria. I know that the two of you are married."
Victoria exhaled and rolled her eyes.
"Well, you made a very dumb thing. But he's good-looking." The grandmother commented and winked at her. She chuckled and Kenzo smiled nervously.
"I~~I made some healthy tacos." He said as he pulled out the smoothie and glassware. Victoria quickly arranged the table for the bed and the old woman squinted her eyes looking at the food. "It's super healthy, Ma'am. I made that guacamole by myself."
"Hmm, let's see."
The old woman took a bite on the taco and made a little mess but she chewed on it while staring at Kenzo. Kenzo looked back at her waiting to be judged. The woman hummed.
"It's good that you make four of it. This will be my lunch."
He chuckled and gave her the smoothie.
"This is very healthy ma'am."
"Call me grandma. I won't be very picky even though my granddaughter married someone who was working on a construction site. While my granddaughter works, you can be a househusband."
"I can be both, Grandma," Kenzo said. "Your granddaughter is the first amazing woman that I've ever met. I will be a househusband and I will also provide for us. Soon, we'll have children and I don't want to be a useless man from outside and inside of the house."
"Good thing! Since you can't provide a maid or butler, you can use yourself. I am against both of you but it seemed like you know how to do the chores, so I wouldn't nag my granddaughter to annul you."
"There won't be annulment or divorce, Ma'am. I will do everything to provide for my wife." Kenzo said, sounding like it's his vow since they didn't make one.
"Good." She munched another and they watched as she finished one taco and wiped her lips gracefully. "I'll get discharged this afternoon. I want to see you both at whatever party that your sister is throwing."
"We will be there," Victoria promised her.
"Hmm, good." They watched as the old woman finished the four tacos and since she's too full. She needed to get out of the bed and stood. "Both of you may leave now. And call my nurse. I need to walk around to take a last look at this place."
They left the hospital holding hands together. They smiled at each other as they reached the elevator.
The thorn on her chest has been pulled.. At least, her grandmother didn't go against them or say bad things toward Kenzo.
