Then, she sighed and lay down. She seemed to be slowly relaxing. So, Maverick stayed with her until she fell asleep again. That's when he received Kenzo's report.
He didn't mention what happened to give them a good sleep. Instead, he went to their cabinet where he hid their food and prepared instant ramen for her with eggs on it. He made it palatable so she'll eat it. But seeing her reaction while watching him, just gave him that strong pinched in his heart. She looked pale and he didn't know what she was thinking right now.
"Ramen?" He asked but she didn't answer. He set the ramen on the tray as he approached her. He gently placed it at the edge of the bed. His heart is still aching from what happened a while ago. He kissed her forehead. "Darling?" He called.
"Hmm? She slowly sat up.
"I make ramen. Let's eat and watch something good?"
"Okay,"
She hasn't moved on yet. No one can move on quickly from what happened to her.
"It looks good." She mumbled while looking at the food.
"Yeah, it is. It's instant. I'm sorry. I'll set up a kitchen close to this floor so I can cook for you anytime you want."
"I~I want to cook for you too." She said softly. Like she felt lifeless at that time. However, he wanted to cheer her up.
"How about we'll prepare some dishes for Kaisley's engagement party?"
She smiled and nodded at him.
"I want lobsters. The one you made in the resort with that red sauce and rice."
"Alright," he chuckled and kissed her forehead. "I'll make something special tomorrow. Let's eat?"
He took the chopstick, scooped up the noodles, blew it for her, and fed her like a baby. They also giggled at the movie that they are playing. It's a comedy movie and lifts her mood so she could sleep peacefully without any nightmares.
After eating their ramen, the couple walked around the castle, holding hands together like they were hunting for something. But instead of sleeping in their room, the couple stayed in the greenhouse, cuddled together with thick blankets.
She actually had fallen asleep there peacefully. Maverick closed the whole greenhouse to sleep peacefully. He waited for an hour until she was sleeping and mumbling his name in her sleep.
