Lana arrived at the house and immediately scanned the surrounding area. Greg's car was not in the parking lot yet. The children, too, were now away with his parents. So she quickly slipped into the house and looked around.
Frank already told her that their plan was a success and even sent a video, which Lana had to pause several times just to laugh it out, so dumbfounded was the face of her father and his subordinates on that. But still, she needs to proceed cautiously. Although Sophia assured her that there was definitely no tail behind them and they were lucky not to meet anyone on the way out of the dungeon, but who knows when the Watchers will find the mayhem they caused and find out who did that.
Besides, she did not want Greg to see her in this state. The wounds after a fight with Sybil were almost healed, only the deepest one on the shoulder was still a little bleeding. But all the clothes looked as if she had been in a meat grinder. Greg surely won't be happy to see her like this.
As soon as Lana was utterly sure that there was no one in the house, she immediately rushed up the stairs, but before she could reach the last step, an engine growl came from the street. Lana instantly realized that it was Greg with his friends. She darted off and raced to the bathroom on the way, tearing off her dirty clothes. That was one of the quickest wash. Fortunately, the girl still managed to clean off the layer of dirt and blood before the bathroom door quietly opened and she heard soundless steps. It seems Greg again wanted to scare her or snick on her. "So childish!" She thought to herself, intercepting the shower handle more comfortably and smiling slyly.
Greg cautiously crept close to the bathtub and got ready, not taking his eyes off the shadow falling on the curtain from the other side. Delicious forms danced on it as a shadow, stirring his imagination. He had already stretched his hand and was ready to pull the curtain sharply, but Lana was there first. Greg did not even have time to react before cold water sprayed him in the face. The man shrieked, slipped and fell on the rug.
"Gotcha, pervert!" - Lana screamed triumphantly, and quickly jumping out of the shower, she hurried to wrap around the towel so that Greg would not notice anything. - "There you go for snicking on me!"
Greg found Lana with his eyes. A slow smirk appeared on his face, and he slowly began to rise, not taking his eyes off her, like a predator that was not letting his prey out of sight. Lana instantly halted and took a step back. In the same moment, he darted off and caught the girl in his arms, squeezing her to the wall with his body.
" I have every right." - He muttered in her neck, slowly sweeping his nose on the delicate skin. - "You're mine now. Every cell, every curve. And you cannot forbid me to admire this perfection because it will be just a crime."
"God, Greg, how can you be so cheesy!" - Lana giggled, trying to shove the guy off, but he didn't budge, and his face became unusually serious.
Greg peered into her face, without uttering a word. He inspected it so long as if seeking to print her image somewhere deep in mind, to capture every line and mole. That made Lana a bit flustered, and she tried to turn away. But Greg stopped her, putting a warm hand to her cheek and slightly raising her face up.
"What?" - Finally, she couldn't take it anymore.
"You know, today I was petrified. Until now, I have always tried to convince myself that I am strong enough. I have a lot. I built a whole empire that is not so easy to conquer. I have friends, my family, which has always been my main stronghold. But just one thought was enough to make me tremble with horror today, as a little boy from heavy thunder. Do you know what thought it was?"
Greg's voice was hoarse, and she could even hear a slight tremor in it. Lana could not stand it, she stretched out her hand and stroked his disheveled, damp hair, from which water was still dripping. Then she ran her fingertips along his eyebrows as if trying to remove those wrinkles between them and with it all the dark thoughts from his head. She didn't want to ask, as she already knew what was he talking about. After all, precisely the same nightmare was hunting her for a very long time now.
"Sometimes it seems to me that this is not a blessing, but rather a punishment. As if you are thrown to the heavens, and they forgot to tell you that you'll have to fall too. And you keep guessing at what point your flight will reach a peak and you will drop down." - She said softly, gently weeping up the droplets of water from his forehead - "This is so strange. But if love could be measured by fear, then I would tell you every day that you frighten me to death."
Greg grinned at her words and kissed her tenderly, barely touching.
" You also terrify me, my love." - He whispered into her lips. In the meantime, his hands had already begun to slip lower, trying to grope the edge of a wide towel.
"Wait!" - Screamed Lana, clinging to his wrists with both hands. At that moment, the edge of the towel, which covered her neck on the other side, slipped off and exposed a small wound. Greg immediately froze, not taking his eyes off the bite.
"What the hell?" - He growled, throwing off Lana's arms and grabbing her by the shoulders to get a better look.
" Oh! That's nothing much!" - Lana replied, unsuccessfully trying to escape. But Greg's face was already dark, and the eyes flashed with a dangerous glint.
"What happened?!" - He demanded. - "You wrote that everything went according to plan?"
The girl grimaced, but there was no choice. She had to admit it all.
"We've already found everything and wanted to come back when Sybil discovered us. She is the father's assistant. This woman attacked us. I had to fight to distract while Sophia was preparing the trap. She blew up part of the stands and Sybil was stoned. I'm not sure if she is dead. But I really hope that she is." - Lana tried to explain so that Greg could not guess how hard this fight actually was. - "It is just a small bite. After a couple of hours, you won't be able to find it at all. Don't worry!"
Greg narrowed his eyes, gazing with suspicion at Lana's face.
"Is there any other wound anywhere? - He finally asked.
"No." - Lanna hurried to assure him, shaking her head. - "There were a couple of bruises and cuts, but not even a trace of them left now. Would you like to check?"
The girl smiled cunningly and leaned closer to him. Greg's eyes immediately flashed, but the suspicion on his face did not disappear yet.
"Did you tell me everything?" - He asked with a severe expression, although his hands had already begun to descend down resuming the search for the edge of the towel. Lana's eyes shone in response. she stood on tiptoes and purred to his lips.
"I'm ready for the examination, Dr. Wells. Where do we start?"
Greg shivered not expecting Lana's sudden attack. Without wasting a second, in one motion, he grabbed the girl in his arms, draped her over his shoulder and dragged her into the bedroom.
Only there his plan was not destined to come true because right at the exit from the bathroom they were ambushed by Brian with a face that did not promise anything good and embarrassed Risa.
"You have to postpone your games, Dr. Wells." - Snarled Brian, and instantly turned around leaving the room. Neither his tone nor his stiff back that disappeared behind the door with a bang promised anything good.
