Greg crept slowly through the jungle, following the map that appeared in his head as soon as he wished it. He still was puzzled but how and why it worked this way. But some hints made him calm down and throw the random thought aside for now.
It should have been connected with the nanochips that Marina invented. All the signs pointed precisely at that. First of all, the only thing that could link him to the computer was the blood that accidentally spilled on the board. So the strange content of it was just the thing that could explain his power over the suit and how he was able to get all the info from the lab at the same time. Maybe at some point in the fight with Ian, Greg accidentally fell on the semple that his sister left behind and got infected.
He pointed it himself to Marina before that the properties of nanochip can solve some problems with managing an exoskeleton. And now he became the first genuine pig that it was tested on. Joke on him. But anyway this mishap came at a right time.
He could clearly see and avoid all the shifters that were scattered around the jungle on his way to the main aim. It took him just half an hour to find a small clearing on which the map showed a sigh of one special shifter.
Greg climbed a tall tree and tried to approach remaining hidden in the branches. But as soon as he got the first pick at what was happening there, he froze in place dumbfounded by the view.
The grass underneath was covered in a mess of body part and blood making it look like a gorish part of hell. There was no mistake on who was responsible for what happened in the lab, as a few body parts lay here and there still had some white cloth on.
Greg pinched his nose, catching a wif of smell coming from there. It was hideous and almost made him gag. It seemed like this slighter happened not today. The strange thing was that all other shifters according to Greg's map avoided this place. Only one beacon was shining in the far part of the meadow, which belonged to Ralph Benne.
Greg scrolled all the information in his head again, fearing an error. He had never seen this man before. In the past, this asshole attacked from the behind destroyed all the dreams of the young Greg, stealing Lana and the children from him. 13 years, that bastard abused them. Thirteen years he took from them and Greg.
Thinking about this, Greg barely resisted so as not to rush through the clearing to the red icon on the map. Clenching his fists, he exhaled slowly and began to go around the clearing in a circle, coming up from the leeward side. As soon as he got a little closer, someone's voices made him pause. Despite the sign on the map, Ralph was there not alone.

On a small hill in the midst of all this chaos stood a figure of a tall, black-haired man who bent over a guy in a dirty white coat, kneeling on the ground.
"Well, how do you like the view now, doctor?" - Snarled the black-haired man, grabbing the guy on the ground by the top of his white coat. - "Doesn't look so bad, huh? You bloodsuckers should enjoy this kind of things, right?"
The guy whom he had lifted from his knees with one jerk, began to gasp, but never said a word.
"I asked you a question!" - snarled the shifter, showing the scientist with a sharp slap in the face and baring his fangs.
The guy in the white robe gurgled something, but only managed to squeeze out a few words.
"We did not do anything like that!" - He shouted hysterically, squirming in the hands of the shifter. - "We were just following orders. We didn't kill anyone!"
"Yah?!" - leaning closer breathed Ralph in the scientist's face. His face partially transformed and saliva began to run down over long fangs, dripping onto the cheek of the unfortunate victim, that was shaking in horror. - "You all pumped into us some kind of crap! You made me crazy. Look, this is all your work!"
Ralph abruptly pulled the guy up and threw aside, right on the torn corpse of one of the lab workers. The doctor screamed, smacking his face straight into the inside of a big wound and bounced to the side, with shaking hands trying to wipe the blood from his face.
"Here everyone was crazy from the start!" - he cried, crawling back. - "We were just testing ways that could make you stronger! It is even possible to turn you into Alpha!"
" I am already an Alpha!" - Ralph roared, jumping at his victim and tearing his throat with claws.
"I don't need your damn shots! I am the strongest! This bastard - Ian, thinks that he can so easily take away my pack, my family ?! Let's see how he will scream and beg when I'll be wrapping his guts on my fist!" - he exploded while continuing to strike the already lifeless body of a lab worker.
"Pack, family ?!" - Sounded a mocking voice from behind the back of a mad shifter, forcing him to turn around sharply. - "You are so wrong. As much as I hate Ian, but he is clearly not at fault in this case. The one who took away your pack and family was you, yourself!"
Ralph blinked at the man who had entered the clearing. He was dressed in a strange-fitting suit, and his face seemed oddly familiar to the shifter. Although for a long time his brain was as if in a fog and his thoughts were tossing and turning with difficulty, like fat slugs.
"These are all these damn meds," - thought Ralph, releasing his claws.
"Who are you? What do you know about this?" - He said aloud, preparing to attack the unexpected guest. But the guy did not respond to these words, continuing to approach slowly. There was no fear in his eyes, but something else that made Ralph grow serious and take a closer look at the guy.
"I know all about it." - quietly said Greg, stopping from the werewolf in three steps. - "That woman you called your Mate never belonged to you. She was meant for me! Just like Alpha's place has never been yours. The only thief and psycho - here is you! You beat and humiliated My woman. The woman who gave you two beautiful children. You are not worth a single tear of them. I'm here to make sure that your ugly mug will never again make them suffer. They are my family and my pack. And you will answer for all crimes against them."
Ralph's eyes narrowed. Hate like poison spilled through his veins when he finally recognized the face of this man. It was that boy who had dared to spin around Lana in the past. Hoarse laughter escaped through the fangs.
" Aaaaa ... So you are that pathetic kid ?! Didn't I teach you well the last time? What are you doing here? You're just a pathetic human!" - Said Ralph, looking down at the guy's face. Greg shrugged and answered in a calm voice.
"I have long wanted to look into the eyes of the bastard who can only attack from behind and beat women. As expected, you are just a miserable coward. I hope Lana, Vicky, and Nicky will soon forget your ugly face! And I will take care that in their memories you remain just an old nightmare. Something dirty that should be left behind and forgotten. Like trash!"
Ralph scowled at these words. This little man obviously was acting too arrogant for his own good! It was worth teaching him some manners!
Shifter with one jump overcame the distance between them and swung clawed paws at Greg, but the cocky guy did not even move and remained standing, folding his arms over his chest. The claws slashed at the dark fabric and seemed to slip off without leaving a trace. The owner did not even flinch.
Ralph looked at his paw in surprise and at the same moment received a strong blow at the gut. Shifter choked and bent. Greg wasted no time in punching a stunned shifter in the jaw, forcing him on his back. He jumped on top of the werewolf and kept pummeling the beast in the muzzle, neck, and head.
Anger and hatred clouded Greg's mind for a second. It cost him tremendous strength to control himself and start to calculate every blow, not to allow himself to succumb to anger. He slammed his fist into this bastard's ear one more time and retreated before shifter could recover and retaliate.
Seeing all this massacre around, clearly showed how strong this bastard was since he was able to whack a whole detachment of scientists from the laboratory. And they were all shifters. Therefore, it was worth to be careful and not to give in to emotions.
Meanwhile, Ralph had recovered and jumped to his feet again. His body now wholly transformed. Greg recoiled from the astonishment. He expected something similar to what Ian looked like, or at least that were-bear in the jungle. But what appeared before him made the blood freeze in his veins.
It was some kind of zombie-like form of Alpha as if the very body of this monster was against this form. The massive fanged jaw literally tore the skin on the cheeks, which now hung like scraps on the sides, exposing the bones and muscles. There was practically no black fur on this monster, just a bluish-white skin, that showed all the strange angles and ugly bulging muscles. but the claws became the length of the arm. A yellow iris almost sank in the middle of the bloody red eyes with rotten black dots here and there.
Ralph snarled and ducked, preparing to jump. White foam appeared on his torn lips, and his nostrils widened, catching Greg's fear. Monster stuck its claws forward, leaped at its victim.
Greg managed to dive at the last moment and jump aside, but the shifter immediately turned and attacked again, managing to grab the guy by the leg. Greg twisted and kicked Ralph into the ugly jaw, making shifter grit his teeth and at the same time snatching his foot from the grip. Without hesitation, he jumped to his feet and rushed to the nearest tree, hearing the crazy roar of this monster behind him.
Actually, Greg from the very beginning was not going even to try to defeat Ralph in battle. His costume was of course very cool. But the data from the computer and what he managed to analyze in his head was quite enough to understand. These morons from the laboratory still managed to create a monster that by force and speed was quite superior even to Greg's suit. To go against this without weapons is to have strange suicidal tendencies. And since Greg still had a lot of plans for today, it was worth using the only weapon that is difficult to take from him. The brain.
After a little jogging with that bear, Greg had already become accustomed to climbing trees like a monkey. Therefore, after he seized a comfortable branch and, found a liana suitable for jumping onto the next tree, Greg looked around searching for his opponent.
Ralph already reached the tree, but judging by how pathetic his attempts to climb the trunk looked, he did it for the first time. The shifter jumped to a height of about two meters and stuck his claws into the bark, tilting his head at Greg. But as soon as he plunged claws higher and tried to pull himself up, his transforming legs immediately began to slide, slipping from the trunk, not finding support. He began to flounder and in the next moment crashed down with a wild howl. It looked so pathetic that Greg could not help it and sneakered.
"Damn, I did not even think that you would be such a loser." - He shouted, watching as Ralph, with a growl, again tried to climb a tree and slammed down back on the ground, stretching on the grass. The wolf legs even transformed like this clearly was not meant for climbing.
"You know, even an idiot would have understood long ago that despite how awesome and cool the form of Alpha looks, everything always has its limitations. Even in the Stone Age, huge claws and teeth never guaranteed that the predator would be the strongest of all. The human race survived and became dominant on earth without it all. So tell me, do you feel that it was really worth it? Will your fangs bring you more happiness than the smiles of your children? The way, how quickly you can tear other shifters into pieces is more pleasant than the respect and affection of the members of the Benne Pack, your relatives?"
Ralph roared and began to claw at the trunk of the tree. In his head, wild hatred began to mingle with strange flashing pictures from the past. All thoughts stuck together in a brown mess, and only one idea spun there making him rush at this damn tree again and again and again - hatred. Only it led him the last dozens of years. They were all wrong! He was always worth more! Only he could become Alpha! And no one will ever dare to mock him. He will show them! All of them!
Greg smiled sadly, watching the opponent beating in impotent rage. He even felt a little sorry for this lost man. Your eyes can see everything only in the light in which you allow them to see. The brain plays a cruel joke on its owner sometimes. In the same object, one can see something beautiful, and the other will see only garbage, not understanding its value.
Greg's ambitions have always been directed to become the best not just to own, to have more power, or control. Lana's return allowed him to remember again for the sake of what he started his business ten years ago. For friends who were able to accomplish a lot through this corporation, find their way in life. For the sake of the family, his sisters and mother, who was stricken by the death of his father and he had to take his place. He had to pull himself together and lead them on. They say that to achieve something you shouldn't look back. But for Greg, his loved ones always stood behind him. These smiles were forcing him to strive for more, and giving it back to them eventually. Only that kind of circle could make a person content.
Shifter, roaring below, never knew that feeling. Selfishness is insatiable. Fear does not mean respect. And you will never achieve love by hurting.
Greg sighed, making a final decision, tightened his grip on the vine. It was time to end this line of plot. Nick was right - a mad wolf could only have that one end.
