Chapter 25

Monday, after the chaotic weekend.

Despite becoming lovers with Sasakura-san, because of the distance of our houses, it wasn’t possible for us to meet up and go to school together. That’s why, now I’m on heading to school alone.

I was considering a lot of things, and I thought it might make Sasakura-san uncomfortable from the attention if I openly talked to her in school. So I decided that I’ll just spend my day as usual, an elegant and quiet time without talking to anyone… or at least that was the plan. I entered the classroom when Sasakura-san, who was already inside, noticed me and smiled broadly,

“Ah Shinjou-kun! Good morning!”

…my plan was completely destroyed.

“Yeah, good morning.”

I figured that there’s no more reason to hide our relationship so I casually returned her greeting, much to the surprise of the whole class who suddenly got noisy.

“Shinjou, when did you became close with Sasakura-san?!”

“For it to be Shinjou of all people!”

“Eh, Yumi, when did you become friends with him?”

“He might not be a bad person, but it’s still a bit surprising. He’s a plain guy.”

“Wait! Come to think of it, I thought I saw you guys acting all friendly with each other in town yesterday, but I thought there’s no way that’s possible so I just passed it off as a hallucination, but…”

“Eh, what was that?!”

“No way, are you guys dating?!”

Everyone was so surprised when they saw that Sasakura-san and I gave friendly greetings with each other that they made a huge commotion.

Well, it’s only natural. Compared to me, Sasakura-san is cute, has a good personality, is cheerful, and is also very cute.

Sasakura-san apologetically clasped her hands towards me for the noisy surroundings, but I wasn’t particularly troubled by any of it.

Rather, I actually felt happy that she would think about greeting me first before considering the consequences and that she wouldn’t mind exposing our relationship to others.

But in the midst of such a fuss, talking to her would be like adding fuel to the fire, so I instead just bowed and sat down in my seat.

Naturally, a lot of my classmates came to ask me about what our relationship is, but I ignored them all with all my might.

No matter what they say, I just sat there reading my book without moving my eyebrows. Eventually, they realized that it was pointless to try to force me to talk.

Well, some of them tried to snatch the book I was reading, which I responded to by giving them a piercing gaze, making them immediately back off.

Although appearance-wise, I did not have that much muscles to be called a “muscle man”, the strength training I started in order to match my shape to my physical fitness record gave my body an intimidating aura, so it all worked out smoothly.

Of course, if it was the me of before I might have been a little shaken.

However, now I have gained a rare power that’s unique to me.

I can take such an attitude because now I have the power to do whatever I want to do.

In the end, power is the one thing that’s tremendously reliable for when something happens.

In this classroom, power is everything.

Yes, this was a jungle.

“Shinjou-kun, don’t you think you should be more friendly?”

“Oh, Sasakura-san…?”

While I was thinking of stupid things, Sasakura-san approached and called out to me.

It looks like today my girlfriend has taken the offensive, and whatever happened in this fuss doesn’t matter to her.

“Sasakura-san! What’s your relationship with Shinjou-kun?!”

One of the classmates who saw Sasakura-san come all the way here saw an opportunity and asked her that question.

“Hmm…”

Sasakura-san’s eyes were saying “What should I do~?” while leaking her voice. Then, she nodded.

“Yeah, a lot of things happened but now we’re going out.”

“””What?!”””

Those who heard were surprised by the revelation that was told with a smile while putting a finger on the chin.

I didn’t say anything either, but inside I was surprised at Sasakura-san’s boldness.

From my observations about her so far, I felt that she was not the sort of person that would show off around like this.

Of course, her declaration that she doesn’t have to hide her relationship with me is very delightful that I have no intention of complaining about it.

No matter how much commotion our classmates make, it doesn’t matter if this is what it takes for me to openly be in a relationship with Sasakura-san.

It’s just that the usual Sasakura-san was not like this.

“Well, it became noisier than I expected…”

I thought it would be better if Sasakura-san, who muttered softly, was more aware of her own appearance, but when I think about it, it’s no surprise that she can be someone like this considering the environment she grew up in was an old-fashioned organization that despises her because she’s a woman.

She, who didn’t expect the fuss to become this big, showed an embarrassed look and released her magical power all over the classroom that was filled with an uncontrollable commotion.

The flow of magical power is similar to what I felt at the time of the physical fitness test. Suddenly, my classmates stopped making a fuss and instead started having meaningless conversations, as if everything that happened before was a lie.

“I’m sorry, I made it public but I didn’t expect something like this to happen so I just decided to make it like it never happened.”

Sasakura-san turned around and bowed her head with her hands folded, but since she didn’t really need to apologize for anything in the first place, I just shrugged my shoulders.

“It’s ok, but…is it going to be noisy again if we talk like this?”

“Oh, that’s okay. Not only does my spell affect memories, but it also weakens perception for a while.”

I don’t mind if it becomes noisy again, but Sasakura-san explained that there’s no problem with us talking like this.

“So at last now we can speak normally like this.”

“O-oh. That’s great.”

In the next moment, Sasakura-san happily said that with an angelic smile, which I shyly responded to.

I felt a bit stiff, but Sasakura-san grinned at me unconcernedly.

Although I was relieved to see that, now I’m feeling troubled because even though it’s our chance to have a conversation after all that commotion, no interesting topic comes to mind.

Now, what should we talk about? I continued to ponder in my head.
