Veras quickly calms himself and studies the spear in greater detail to see if he can gleam some knowledge of its origin from it .As he carefully notices a small mark on the flat of the spearhead that should be a touchmark he ponders if he's ever seem one similar before and in the end can't recall any so he stands up from his chair and walks over to the bookshelf behind his desk and runs his finger over the spines of several books until he stops on the book titled (KNOWN SMITH TOUCHMARKS AND THEIR AFFILIATIONS). He pulls it off of the shelf and places it on the desk , he then opens it and begins looking for any touchmarks that match the one on the spear and after about 5 minutes later he stops on the last page where a small line of text next to the bottom of the page catches his eye. (For whomever it may concern the touchmarks found in this book are not every touchmark known as some known marks bear restrictions and thus can't be list .)
veras's eyebrows crunch together in frustration after he can't figure out if this mark is good or bad , he signs deeply and rewrapped the spear up then pulls out about 2000 gold and hands it to the guard then says"take this to my son and tell him I'm buying the weapon from him instead." The guard takes the money and goes to walk out the door when veras then says "also keep this weapon a secret for now don't want the other clans getting a hold of this information ." the guard bows and says "of course my lord" then walks out of the room. After the guard leaves veras lightly calls out "shadow." And a darkness creeps out of the ceiling and seems to congeal into the shape of a man.
The man wear a full body leather suit with a mask that covers all but his eyes. "Yes my lord ?" the man ask while kneeling. Veras looks at the man then says " status report". The man stands up and begins speaking "the organization in question is planning on attacking you today during the auction in order to make less of a commotion." Veras nods and then says " its lucky my son is going to the auction then since I don't want him to see what I'm going to do to those bastards." "Indeed it is fortunate the young master is out lest he be impacted by what is to come."
Meanwhile the guard arrives back at Nick's courtyard.
"Young master lord veras has given you 2000 gold for your weapon which is a good amount I might say." The guard says while handing nick the money. Nick takes the money with a stupid grin on his face. "Well then let's go then." Nick says while walking out of his courtyard. The group make their way into the city which can be seen to have a decent size making the large buildings of intricate design rather odd.
