I move my gaze towards the rest of the class. I see that most of them swinging their weapon left and right trying their best to create something like Mr. Poe demonstration. But I don't see anything special would happen soon.
I see Anna mingle with her group containing 3 girls and 1 guy; 2 of them are mage classes who use staff and wand as their weapon of choice while the other 2 are frontliner who uses a spear. For a mage, the only difference between staff and wand is only the length of it and even someone who have staff mastery sometimes prefer a shorter one so they ended up choosing wand as their weapon.
It's like cleaver and saber skill although they are categorized into 2 different skill the user still can master the other easily as they similar in how they work. Most mages like a shorter staff as they don't hinder your movement and more convenient to carry; Anna staff, on the other hand, are almost as long as her spear.
The length of her staff is longer than compared to others in her group. And the way she handles it also differ than them. The 2 spear user mostly repeating stab movement over and over while the mage works with their respective skill rune. Anna swings her staff make half circle movement from her back, above her head and finally she would bass the dummy target with it. Her movement is more fluid compared to other students but compares to Mr. Poe it's still nothing.
'Oh, she uses staff instead of a spear. I thought she would focus more on spear skill looking at her class and how she doesn't have any magic based skill. I wonder what's the point of doing that. Well, I can ask her later when we got back.'
"You can ask me if you have any inquiry about what weapon skill to work on; I can give you advice but in the end it still you who decided what path you want to progress."
I look at James, Kana, and Alice already begin their own routine; I observe each of them for a second before I stare at James summoning and banishing his skeleton repeatedly. Kana still struggling to cast any healing spell and Alice turns her left and right-hand green back and forth controlling mana in her body.
"James, why don't you try creating spell using your shield? Seeing that you can already summon your skeleton." I approach James who's been busy with his skeleton.
"You mean attacking spell? Using shield? You serious bro?" James questioning my argument as he doesn't see how that would work.
"No, I mean defensively. Like the instructor who takes Mr. Poe attack in the face. You can also create a defensive spell, right Mr. Hubert?"
"Oh, you can do that? I thought the instructor can take it because of his strong physic." James turns his gaze to Mr. Hubert asking for confirmation.
"Yes, you can create a defensive spell, but it's harder; Unlike attacking to defensive spell have to include 1 random factor. You can't expect your opponent to follow the scenario which you imagine every single time so to create a defensive spell you have to cover more ground, unlike offensive one."
"You failed to land offensive spell that that's one thing you failed to perform your defensive spell than you're dead. So to create a good defensive spell you have to imagine a couple backs up so you can counter or at least come up alive in the end."
"And to train one it's kinda dangerous as you need others to hit you over and over again. If you have an inexperienced training partner it an can hurt both you and your training partner. There's a special device the government created to help you train one but you have to wait until yesterday or try one in the game world."
"Well for now if you really want to train one I can be your training partner if you want. Do you want to try?" Ask Mr. Hubert
"I can try, I guess. What's there to lose? I only can summon 1 skeleton anyway. And it feels like I'm missing something to improve my summoning spell. Might as well do this" James shrugged his hand and get into a stance getting ready to take some hit.
"Try to imagine deflecting or blocking my punch with that shield of yours. And tell me when you're ready."
Seeing Mr. Hubert and James getting busy I also start training using my zither to create a spell. I try to create a spell that can transfer my thoughts to Luna so I can try to command her to do my bidding. I also want to help Kana but I can't do anything about her condition so I decided to ask my father later if there's any record of this thing happen in the past.
Time flash by and the training session without any hitch; None of the students successfully create any rune for weapon spell except Anna. She creates a rune which helps her when she swings her staff bashing the enemy with it. When she swung her staff I can see the staff glowing a bit with white color.
The rest of students are looking at her in awe and some in envy; Her instructor explains how she starts the experiment a week earlier so we don't have to be discouraged if we failed this time. James's are sweating like a camel and Alice is busy turning her skin color like a chameleon.
We clean ourselves and getting ready to go back to my house as the sun already at it's limit. We agree to spend the day at my house to learn more about this project. Anna, Kana, and James already informed their parent and got their permission so we just when on our way. I ask Anna about her new spell and all of us pile up looking at her new spell.
