Loa tells me. Roa and I are waiting at the entrance gate of the capital to meet him.
I breathe a sigh of relief as I reflect on the busy days ahead.
After defeating Riharzam, while explaining the situation at the royal castle, I borrowed a communication device and informed Kareen of the success of the mission. And most importantly, I asked for her support.
The reconstruction of the royal city seems to be progressing rapidly.
Even from the entrance of the gate, I can see the residents of the city going about their daily activities.
There is almost no damage to the buildings, and most of the residents seem to have regained their senses soon after the disappearance of the parasitic mushrooms, so that there has been no major disruption.
Some of Riharzam's close associates who had been transformed into chimeras did not survive, though.
It was a good thing that the recovery was so fast, but there was a big problem.
I received solicitation letters incessantly. Not only from the nobility, but also from the heads of various sects and even from the royal family.
They would hail me as a hero of salvation and send me invitations to tea parties and soirees, letter after letter. And so it went on day after day.
It should be a well-known fact that I was working for Kalin, but the solicitations kept coming, regardless of the fact that I was working for her.
They even asked me to be their daughter-in-law.
I guess I'm finally free of this. When Kalin arrives, we can go back to Harbor Fulton.
The past few days have made me realize once again that I am now more at home in Harberfulton than in King's Landing, where I have lived for so many years. It is a little funny to me that the dry air of the frontier has become so familiar to my skin.
Roa, perhaps sensing the change in my expression, looks at me curiously.
"Master Rust, you look happy. Is it because I get to see Master Kalin?
"Did I look like that? Well, I thought I'd finally get to go home."
That's wishful thinking.

Kalin shouts this and leaps down from her simple golem horse.
Behind her, the simple golem horse collapses. It seems to have been the alchemist of one of the accompanying alchemists.
I look around at the faces of the attendants and see the faces of Sherluk and Kot.
"Thank you for your visit, Kalin-sama. The recapture of the capital, as you requested, has been completed without incident.
I kneel down on one knee in formal greeting to the Karin in front of me. I thought it would be a good gesture. I also felt a few knowing glances from those around me. I don't know who they are or where they are from, but they are watching me.
I wonder if someone will report this to the authorities, and I do my best to show them how strong the master-slave relationship between Karin and me is.
Kalene, whether she knows it or not, straightens her posture.
"Master Rust, the hero of our salvation, the slayer of demons. Your work on this occasion is indescribable. You have put a ribbon on an extra-large cake.
Kalin took hold of my hand as I knelt on one knee and pulled me to my feet with a jerk.
"My friend! I'll leave the rest to you."
Karin hugged me tightly.
The sudden warmth in her arms startles me, and I freeze, my eyes black and white.
At close range, Kalene whispers to me.
"You've brought quite a few eyes with you. I'd say you have four or five.
With that, Kalin smirks and moves away.
I finally realize that what I just said was an appeal to the surveillance.
"Well, let's just grab what we can and go home! We have a lot of development waiting for us in the capital. Everyone, let's head for the royal castle!
Kareen steps into the royal city with a big smile on her face.
We followed her majestic back.
