Chapter 66: Hippo Brothers!

The eight scrolls float softly from my hands and slink open. The eight scrolls begin to rotate, spinning in evenly spaced circles around me.

I extend my right hand and chant the following command A magic circle is drawn in the air, connecting the eight scrolls.
With each of the eight scrolls as a vertex, an octagonal magic circle is formed.
The scrolls move, and with them the magic circle moves in front of my outstretched right hand.
Then, the claws of a gigantic mole come down upon me.
" Hippopo Brothers!
The claws of the giant mole are caught by the giant forelegs that appear out of the magic circle.
A thumping sound. The wind ruffles my bangs.
The main body of the paw immediately appears from the magic circle. The impact of its appearance is enough to blow the giant mole away.
The one that appears is Hippopo's little brother. It is an eight-legged hippopotamus that looks just like Hippopo, only its body is bigger than the giant mole.
With a "g'moo" cry, the hippopo brother rushes out to crush the giant mole. With each step, the earth rumbles.
But it does not end there. Hippopoblazers of all sizes emerge from the magic circle one after another.
One as small as my waist.
The Hippopo Brothers rush toward the giant mole that is still lying on the ground.
And then the trampling begins.
The first giant Hippopo Bros.
It easily pierces through the giant Mole Modoki and leaves a huge hole in the ground.

The parts that are separated from the main body begin to move. But before they can move sufficiently, the Hippopo Brothers arrive at the scene of the devastation.
Every single one of the countless moles that made up the Giant Mole Modoki is trampled and crushed by the legs of the Hippopo Bros.
It was then that the Hippopo Bros. The Hippopo Bros. are about to escape the trampling and float away from the scene.
It is a mushroom growing on the head of the giant mole.
The mushroom spreads its cap wide open and floats up like it is being carried by the wind.
"Cooooo!"
The sailoak, which had remained perched on my shoulder, lets out a loud cry. The sailoak jumps up softly.
The next moment, I feel a sudden surge of magical energy in the depths of Sailuke's girdle, which opens wide.
The light converges.
"Wait! Everybody get down..." I shouted, and I got down too.
A moment of silence.
And then a light so bright it burns your eyes shoots out of Sailuku's mouth. It reaches the mushrooms in the sky in a straight line, shining brightly around us.
Above the heads of the prostrate Hippopo Brothers, the light penetrates and burns through the mushrooms, leaving not even a charcoal extinguisher, and disappears into the sky.
