Everyone turned to each other, surprised at the words the old woman revealed. For a moment there was chaos in the crowd and Enoch had to silence them.

"Why do you all look surprised?" Illa Durray chastised everyone then. "Our title above the ground was determined by our relationship with the universe. The highest princess seat was meant for the first born daughter. That was how things should work as that was how the universe made it so and yet you all did not heed it,"

"But Illa Durray, Princess Tang was the eldest daughter of the old Chieftain and yet—" Someone from the crowd tried to negate her words but she spoke to cut him off completely.

"We all know that isn't true. Princess Tang wasn't the first born princess," Illa Durray reminded all of them.

"Are you talking about the cursed child that was born? Illa Duray that child was basically a monster!" There was chaos in the crown when they were reminded of such a child. The one they all not speak about and they all tried to erase from history.

"If she is a monster then that perhaps explains why everyone who covets her seat becomes a monster too," The old woman concluded and chose to close her eyes as if retreating. Whenever she does that, it only means she has nothing more to say about the recent subject matter.

"Illa, if the Highest Princess seat was indeed cursed, should I just leave it empty then?" Enoch asked, hoping he can be aided in these mysteries. He didn't know how to deal with this part—about the highest princess and how it came to be but he hoped he could settle it out so as not to cause any more chaos.

"That is for the Chieftain to decide," Illa Durray answered, "I am only telling you what I have seen. The decisions of course should be on you,"

"Illa Durray, how come you only told us these things now?" Baruk Tsu, the baruk from the Tsu Village asked her. Few leaders were present there, especially those who were close to Professor Owens. They knew that the healer and the professor think alike and so they knew if he was alive, he would also recommend everyone to see Illa Durray to clear things out.

Illa Durray laughed, eyes closed. She then sang a comical hymn for a few minutes before she answered. "I had long been telling you people and yet you did not heed me. Do you know why seers stopped seeing visions? Because you all refused to believe it and so the universe decided not anymore to let us see,"

Everyone quieted at this. The seers of the Manggan Island had a long history and the last few decades, things didn't go well for them. There had been a political battle between them and the Messa's, the tribe's priest and priestess.  Since the two sectors were both important in the Manggan Island's community, they became integral to the island's political theater that for once, especially the last decade, they battled against each other on whom to reign. Most of the Messa's were from the Nan people while the seers originate from different tribes so they were not as organized as the Messa's. This and many more were the reasons that for the last few decades, Messa's stood into the island's political theater and became the most powerful sector in the community. Because of this, the seers had been deprived and most of the visions they had seen had been neglected. To make it short, for the last few decades, they weren't considered as significant anymore in the community and their visions had been taken for granted specially that the most powerful and respected seer, Illa Durray had stopped seeing visions too.

"Let's not dwell on some of the things Illa Durray says," The Messa of Illa Durray's tribe interjected. He felt like Illa Durray casted a shame on the Messa's reputation and so he went defensive. "Illa Durray is a good seer but she's old. How are we to know if she was telling us a vision or just hallucinating? Her old age had come upon her and made her mind weak. She cannot—"

"Messa Sudan. I would appreciate it if you could just stop intervening," Xhemin asked him politely. "It was me who came and asked about Illa Durray's vision. I came here willing and I allowed all of you to come along. It would be a total disrespect if any of my company will say i'll things about our host, so please, save all your disposition for other times. I came here to listen to Illa Durray and not to question her. Anyone who cme for other reasons, please leave and set another appointment with the Illa Durray,"

"Forgive me healer," The Messa apologized immediately. He had seen how everyone gave him an eye for his words and knew it wouldn't be wise to go on slandering Illa Durray. The healer too was right, this was not a venue for raising concerns about the old seer's credibility so he just let it go. Illa Durray's glory had long been gone anyway and her visions don't mean a lot anymore to the population of the Manggan Island.

"Illa Durray, I believe you when you say the Highest Princess seat is cursed," Princess Lana started her pleas again. "You are right, I feel it. Indeed it was cursed. Look what happened to me, few weeks ago you saw a vision about me siring the hero a child but when I followed your words and offered myself to the hero, something happened and I was sent to another household instead of the hero's house,"

"Princess Lana stopped it!" Princess Song tried to shut her up.

"What?" Princess Lana glared at her sister. "Can't you see everything Illa Durray says make sense? The thing that happened to me in the Baruk household was brought by a curse and so you should not take it against me. Insead you all had to rectify the situation and bring me to the hero's house where I am meant to be!"

Maru almost lost it and squeezed herself out from Baruk Tam's grab. She really wanted to kill that shameless woman but her husband was stopping her. Helpless and almost exhausted, Baruk Tam whispered, "My wife please get a hold of yourself. She's the highest princess,"

Princess Lana however does not care about anyone right then. All she ever wanted was to bear Darryl's child and take her place in his household. She held onto the fact that one she get was she wanted, it would be easy for people to respect her again and love her specially when they will all realized she was destined to become the mother of the moon child.
