The forest slime king noticed that Ferros, Distere, and I were heading towards it.
The forest slime king quickly got out of the hole that Ferros had trapped it inside by bouncing itself out of the hole on the ground.
It was quite unusual how the forest slime king even managed to bounce itself considering it has a huge body but it should be possible that it used one of its skills to make its body elastic.
As soon as the forest slime king got out of the hole, it moved backward for several meters and then shot multiple balls of sticky slime.
Ferros protected both Distere and me by creating a barrier of destruction which blocked and destroyed the balls of sticky slime that the barrier of destruction came into contact with.
Seeing that the forest slime king needed time to perform its attack again, Distere and I advanced towards the former slime king while wielding our kitchen knife and materialized mana sword respectively.
Distere and I ran towards the forest slime king and focused our eyes on locating where the core of the forest slime king was placed at.
The core of the forest slime king was still moving around rapidly inside its body.
Distere and I wielded our blade and slashed our blade in the air towards the forest slime which creates an air slash.
The air slashes that Distere and I had attacked towards the forest slime king landed a hit on the forest slime king's body which hacked it into four pieces.
Unfortunately, the forest slime king had moved its core away from our air slash attack which rendered us unable to kill the forest slime king at that time.
The hacked parts of the forest slime king's body regenerated and merged into one.
Ferros ran towards the forest slime king and touched its body using his hands that were coated with destruction mana.
The touched part of the forest slime king had disintegrated which partially revealed the forest slime king's core.
I created a mana bullet, aimed it towards the partially revealed core of the forest slime king, and released it at high speed.
The mana bullet headed towards the forest slime king's core but the forest slime king was fast enough to react which allowed it to quickly move the forest slime king's core away from the mana bullet.
The mana bullet was much faster than the speed of the forest slime king core's movement but it still missed the forest slime king's core by a centimeter apart.
The impact of the mana bullet left a crack on the forest slime king's core but as I had expected, the forest slime king quickly regenerated its slightly cracked core.
I controlled the amount of my mana that I would consume to save some of it in times of need which made me unable to add an explosive trait in the mana bullet that I had shot.
Even though I wasn't able to destroy the forest slime king's core, at least I had known that it was possible to destroy the forest slime king's core by exposing it.
"Ferros, destroy the forest slime king's body to expose its core. Distere, you and I would launch our blade attacks towards the forest slime king's core after it has been exposed by Ferros."
I commanded Ferros and Distere and the both of them nodded. They didn't disagree even though I acted as if I was their leader.
It seemed that both of them were aware of the current situation so they didn't bother in quarreling with each other.
A few seconds after receiving my order, Ferros ran towards the forest slime king and aimed his right hand towards the forest slime king's body.
The forest slime king attempted to disrupt Ferros' attack by shooting multiple balls of sticky slime.
Before the multiple balls of sticky slime could hit Ferros, I intercepted it by shooting mana bullets towards it.
Ferros kept on running towards the forest slime king while I backed him up by intercepting the attacks of the forest slime king.
The forest slime king created multiple balls of sticky slime but was twice as huge from its attack before.
Due to the multiple balls of sticky slime being twice as huge as before, the speed it accelerated towards Ferros was cut down by half which provided Ferros a chance to dodge its attack.
Ferros closed the distance between the forest slime king and him by channeling his mana towards his lower body and releasing it on his foot which created a burst of mana that propelled him towards the forest slime king at a tremendous speed.
Ferros directed his destruction mana towards both of his hands and forwarded his arms towards the forest slime king.
The forest slime king did not have any time to dodge Ferros due to Ferros approaching it in full speed but instead hurled a medium-sized ball of sticky slime that was 20 percent of its body size.
I didn't intercept the attack of the forest slime king due to me not being able to destroy the forest slime king's attack and its attack might splatter around the forest if I did not destroy it.
Ferros defended himself from the forest slime king's attack by directing towards the medium-sized ball of sticky slime using his left hand and blocking the forest slime king's incoming attack with his left hand.
Ferros' left hand came into contact with the forest slime king's medium-sized ball of sticky slime which in turn destroyed the forest slime king's attack.
Ferros was only a few centimeters away from the forest slime king so he switched on using his right hand to attack the forest slime king and aimed his right hand towards the forest slime king.
Ferros crashed into the forest slime king's body but instead of being devoured by the forest slime king's body, his right hand protected him which destroyed 40% of the forest slime king's body.
Ferros' destruction magic disintegrated almost half of the forest slime king's body which exposed almost half of the forest slime king's core.
The forest slime king started to regenerate the slime that it had lost from its body but I quickly commanded Distere to join me in destroying its core.
Distere and I released all of our mana and circulated it around our bodies to increase our power.
Some of Distere and my mana were concentrated into our weapons.
Distere increased the attack power of his kitchen knife by creating a sharp edge using mana while I materialized a mana sword and condensed it to the point that it was much harder than titanium.
Distere and I jumped towards the forest slime king at full speed which left a burst of mana into our feet.
The forest slime king had already concealed its core by 80% but that did not stop Distere and me from continuing our attack towards it.
Distere and I aimed our weapons towards the forest slime king and while being suspended in the air and was heading towards the forest slime king, Distere and I performed a series of slashes, thrusts, and stabs towards the core of the forest slime king.
Distere and my series of multiple attacks created an air attack towards the forest slime king due to infusing mana into our weapons and the sharpness of our weapon.
The forest slime king quickly moved its core but it was trapped due to Distere and my assault of slashes and stabs which inevitably hit its core.
A huge crack appeared on the forest slime king's core so Distere and I continued to attack the forest slime king's core until it finally broke.
The forest slime king's body melted after its core was broken by Distere and me.
The forest slime king's body only left a puddle of sticky slime and some shards of its core which was useless to the three of us.
Ferros, Distere, and I lied down on the ground and let out a huge breathe while panting heavily.
The three of us left out a sigh of relief after knowing that the long and tiring battle against the forest slime king had finally ended.
"So what are we going to do now? This Lord of Destruction shall lower his pride and ask the opinion of the two of you who I deemed worthy as my brothers in arms!"
Ferros asked Distere and I about our opinion on how we should proceed after we had killed the forest slime king.
"Let's recover all of our mana and strength first! I have exhausted most of my mana from our battle against the forest slime king and I have only a bit of my mana left. What do you think we should do, Alex?"
Distere gave his opinion and asked for my opinion.
"Let's go with your idea in recovering our mana and strength. After that, the three of us will work together in opening an entrance in the protective array."
I replied to Distere and so Distere and Ferros agreed with my opinion.
The three of us sat down and meditated peacefully to recover our mana until a problem alerted me.
