Chapter 180: The Power Of [Surpass Limits]

I channeled some of my mana into my fist and appeared in front of the huge three-horned horse. I then punched the head of a huge three-horned horse with the use of my fist that was covered in dense mana.
The huge three-horned horse had slightly avoided my fist attack despite the huge three-horned horse still suffering from dizziness and headache from the previous four huge mana spheres explosion. The huge three-horned horse had evaded my attack purely due to its instinct which caused my fist to slightly grazing the huge three-horned horse's face.
Although my fist attack had only slightly grazed the huge three-horned horse's face, my fist attack covered in condensed mana while I was in my [Surpass Limits] status allowed me to obliterate a cubic centimeter skin from the huge three-horned horse's face.
Blood trickled from the wound on the huge three-horned horse's face and the huge three-horned horse backed away from me while glaring at me.
My attack power overwhelmed the huge three-horner horse's defense to the point that I could obliterate the skin of a high-level monster.
The huge three-horned horse raised its vigilance while waiting for me to make my move. I didn't hesitate to attack the huge three-horned horse since a prolonged battle would be disadvantageous for me.
At most, the [Surpass Limits] skill could only last for 2 minutes even though it had reached MAX level.
The only perks I got for the [Surpass Limits] skill being at MAX level were that the side effects were reduced from falling into an unconscious state to having all of my body parts paralyzed and the mana consumption was reduced from exhausting all of the mana in my mana pool to activation of the [Surpass Limits] skill without needing to use any amount of mana.
In other words, the [Surpass Limits] skill doesn't demand any mana to activate so it's free to use. My problem in using the [Surpass Limits] skill was the cooldown time and the side effect. Other than that, I don't have any problem using the [Surpass Limits] skill.
Although, getting used to my temporary boosted power was something I needed to be familiar with. That's one of the reasons why I decided to use physical attacks first instead of magic.
The other reason was that I might not be able to control the mana input when I would cast my magic skills. For example, casting a normal fireball towards the huge three-horned horse might result in a huge explosion that would also harm my teammates within the area of the explosion.
For that reason, my only option was to attack the huge three-horned horse using physical attacks.
I had at least a minute left before the duration of the [Surpass Limits] skill would end so I decided to go all-out against the huge three-horned horse.
I created two condensed mana swords and launched them towards the huge three-horned horse at high speed. The huge three-horned horse quickly dodged the two condensed mana swords by bursting mana towards its hooves to launch itself upwards.
The two condensed swords missed on hitting the huge three-horned horse but I manipulated it using my mana to pursuit the huge three-horned horse.
The huge three-horned horse ran on the air and by using [Mana Sense], I saw the mana of the huge three-Horne horse being channeled towards its hooves which then expelled it a centimeter below to create condensed mana platforms below its hooves.
The condensed mana platforms below the huge three-horned horse's hooves dispersed after it was stepped on by the huge three-horned horse so it seemed that it was only a one-time use condensed mana platform. It must be one of the huge three-horned horse's skills.
The huge three-horned horse then galloped towards me while shooting condensed mana spheres from the three horns that were protruding on its head. Unlike from before, the condensed mana spheres that the huge three-horned had shot towards me were the same size as a baseball.
Despite its small size, I knew that the condensed mana spheres would deal powerful damage to my body if I weren't in my [Surpass Limits] status.
I decided to receive the condensed mana spheres which then exploded after they came in contact with my body that was only slightly covered in mana. I only felt that the condensed mana spheres were exploding rocks that possessed a not that powerful explosion while it was thrown at a low speed.
There wasn't any wound or burn of some sort on my body which just showed how much stat was improved on my defense stat. Although, I'm not sure if I would be able to receive 30 seconds worth of charging time of the condensed mana spheres without improving my defense using mana.
I only had 40 seconds left so I made haste by manipulating the two condensed mana swords towards both of my hands and I held the two condensed mana swords.
I circulated all of my mana throughout my entire body and also improved the durability and sharpness of the two condensed mana swords. I jumped towards the huge three-horned horse and I appeared in front of the huge three-horned horse in a blink of an eye since both my speed, defense, and attack stat of mine was further improved after I circulated the mana throughout my entire body.
The huge three-horned horse was slightly stunned for a while before returning to its usual expression. The huge three-horned horse ran towards the left side to escape from my attack range but unfortunately for it, I didn't plan on letting it escape.
I let out a burst of my mana to my left side to propel myself towards the huge three-horned horse. The huge three-horned was just right in front of me now and I guessed that the huge three-horned horse couldn't use a movement skill anymore since it didn't perform any to escape from my grasp.
With that guess, I decided to attack the huge three-horned horse using the two condensed mana swords on both of my hands and slashed it towards the three-horned horse's behind and waist.
The two condensed mana swords slashed through the huge three-horned horse's skin and bones as if it was butter.
Blood spewed out like a fountain from the major wound that I had inflicted on the huge three-horned horse's skin and bones from its behind and waist.
The huge three-horned horse let out a loud neigh after it felt the pain on the major wound on its body. Afterward, the huge three-horned horse's action became strange as I saw its eyes filled with resolve while it galloped towards me instead of running away.
I used my [Mana Sense] skill again to see what's strange about the huge three-horned horse and found out that the mana inside its body was gathering at its mana core. The surrounding mana also started to gather towards the huge three-horned horse's mana core.
Most magic beasts in the World Of Deus possessed a mana core in their body which was a medium that allowed the magic beasts to efficiently manipulate the mana in their body and surroundings and to also improve the mana capacity on it's the body.
The mana core in a magic beasts' body wouldn't be limited to only one since there were some circumstances that a magic beast possessed at least two or more mana cores.
The magic beast's mana core had different ranks depending on how potent the mana of a magic beast possessed and a magic beast that possessed more than one mana core would have a lesser mana core rank compared to a magical beast of the same species and level.
It's also one of the reasons why most magic beasts decided to form only one mana core inside its body.
In the huge three-horned horse's case, only one mana core was formed inside its body so the huge three-horned horse possessed a better quality in terms of mana since its mana core rank was higher than high-level monsters of the same level and species as the huge three-horned horse.
A high-rank mana core equates to high-quality mana so that's why the huge three-horned horse possessed an absurd strength with just its mana sphere attacks.

I had read from a book that a magic beast gathered mana on its mana core from both the mana from the surroundings and its body even if it exceeded the mana capacity of the mana core for only one purpose. That purpose was to self-destruct...

With that in mind, I quickly improved my mana recovery and halted the mana circulation in my body to reduce my mana consumption. I then thought of ways to contain the huge three-horned horse's possible self-destruction
