121: Attack The Sword Mountain Monster! (Technicolor)

 By Effugium December 25, 2023

The giant monster Swordminagon suddenly appeared in Tokyo.

It looks like a slime from an RPG, but don’t underestimate its huge body that looks like a mountain.

For example, the giant robot that heroes ride is about 600 meters tall and weighs about 500 tons. In contrast, Swordminagon, a collection of countless swords, is approximately 300 meters long and weighs about 100,000 tons, making it an unbelievably large size.

The way the overwhelming mass crushed the city just by moving was truly a disaster.

The Hero Headquarters was pressed to respond to the unprecedented appearance of the large monster.

「Scout drone unit, shot down!」

「Hey, have you called for a sortie yet? I beg your immediate assessment of the situation!」

「The Chief of Staff was swallowed up, and we don’t know if she is dead or alive! Who should I ask for operational instructions!」

The media battle for news coverage heated up, and news helicopters flew over the scene, ignoring the state of emergency declaration. Breaking news crossed the ocean, and the shock spread not only to Japan but also to other countries around the world.

「Can you see it!? We can see it moving even from here!」

「President, report that our embassy in Japan was trampled by KAIJYU」

「I understand, connect the hotline. and a strong sake.」

While the world was in a panic, there was one man who confronted the monsters head-on. However, he was not a hero, but a “former” hero, Kuriyama Rintaro.

Rintaro, dressed in a green suit and fluttering his large cloak, was smiling grimly in front of the approaching silver behemoth.

A communication from the ground forces entered the communication line of the death green transformation gear.

『This is Samecchi, ssu. The preparation is finished, ssuyo.』

「Okay, then we can start the operation.」

『Aniki, are you sure you can handle this by yourself, ssuka?』

「Thanks Samecchi, but don’t worry. Trust your aniki.」

Once the communication with the sharks was finished, he subsequently connected to the monitor room at the Ark Dominion secret base.

「This is Death Green. General Tagaraak, are you sure you have the right information?」

『We even used a military satellite to scan the interior, no doubt about it. There is a small cavity in the center of that huge mountain. That’s where Minato would be.』

「Roger, please continue to support us…… Now, it’s time for some fun, fun tunnel digging!」

Rintaro was on the observation deck of the Tokyo Tower, 150 meters above the ground. It was a sightseeing spot that offered a panoramic view of the city, but now that the evacuation order had been issued, there was not a single person in sight.

On the ground, Samecchi, Bearion, and several other mysterious beings were waiting. When they received the signal from Samecchi to begin the operation, they simultaneously took a skull-marked pill and put it into their mouths.

One after another, the bodies of the mysterious beings were enveloped in light and swelled up.

「Saaaaaaaameeeeeeeeee!」

「Uoooooooooooooooooooooooooh!!」

The mysterious beings, who had grown bigger to the 60-meter class, all rushed to the Sword Mountain Monster Swordminagon at once…..

……not.

「Hey hey, are you scared?」

「Come on, what’s the matter! Why don’t you try and bite me in the face, oraa!」

They shouted, clapped their hands, and provoked Swordminagon.

「It seems like it is intimidated by Samecchi’s amphibious martial arts, ssune.」

「After all, it’s just a collection of swords. Let’s leave it at that, gahahahaha!!」

Zu, zuzuzugogogogogogogogogogo.

The body of the Sword Mountain Monster, Swordminagon, shuddered and shook as it targeted the mysterious beings. Slowly, but surely, the mountain moved toward them.

「Awa! It’s coming here, ssu!」

「Don’t be scared, Samecchi. This is the moment of truth. Hey, brother, can you hear me? This is Bearion, the first phase of our operation has been a success!」

After receiving the communication, Rintaro looked down from the observatory.

The giant monsters, which looked so big when confronted, looked like toys when seen this way. Then he looked at the other side of the observatory and saw a silver wall about to swallow the entire Tokyo Tower where Rintaro was standing.

Zuzuzu!

–With a violent crash, a collection of swords slammed into the observation deck of the Tokyo Tower.

「Anikiiiiiiiiiiiiiiii!!!」

Amidst the cries of the Samecchi, Tokyo Tower was completely swallowed up, including Rintaro.

Mekimeki…… mishimishi……

Swords were rushing in through the glass to the observatory, which was enclosed in darkness. At this rate, it was only a matter of time before he was crushed by the swarm of swords.

However, Rintaro calmly bent down.

If the mountain of swords moved in one direction, from east to west, even if the east side of the observatory was completely filled, there will be some space on the west side where the swords were less likely to flow in. That was where Rintaro was hiding.

「It’s going well… so far it’s as calculated.」

Minato was inside the huge mountain, at the center of the mountain beyond a layer of steel nearly 100 meters thick. To penetrate the thick barrier, conventional weapons or even nuclear weapons would be ineffective.

As a matter of course, it would be madness to rush in with the flesh. Rintaro’s answer to this problem was a very simple reversal idea.

『If the mountain moves, let the mountain itself dig the tunnel.』

Swordminagon was not a single hard bedrock, but a collection of countless swords, a pile of exposed sand, so to speak. If pierced, it absorbed the impact and cannot be broken or shattered, but it can be waded through.

Then, the sand pile itself should be moved and bumped against the fixed and solid structure. In this way, it is possible to enter the interior of the mountain without moving the structure itself.

The giant swordminagon’ huge body were guided by the giant mysterious beings and hit the most solid and tallest structure in the vicinity.

In other words, like a submarine wading through the water at the bottom of the ocean. Rintaro’s plan was to use the observation deck of Tokyo Tower as an ark to plunge through to the center of the Mountain of Swords.

But that was only in theory.

Mishishi…… Meri…… mekyako……

The interior of the observatory was filled with the disturbing sound of steel frames crumbling under the pressure of the vast number of swords.

No matter how strong he was when using the death-green suit, there was no guarantee of surviving if he was swallowed by the wave of swords. In addition, Rintaro had lost the mask that protected his head in the fierce battle with Retto.

「Oi oi, not yet……? I am starting to get worried…… I am begging you! Please hold on! Waaaah!!」

He should have reached the center of the mountain by now, but the wave of swords showed no sign of abating. Finally, the ceiling collapsed under the pressure, and the space Rintaro occupied was reduced to the size of a tatami mat.

Collapsed walls and countless swords slowly squeeze Rintaro’s body.

「Dah! I think it’s too early! Nooo!! I believe in you, Showa era design engineers!!」

Rintaro, who was being crushed by the darkness, closed his eyes and wondered if it was over.

The next moment – the noise of the many swords that had been flowing around the observatory disappeared.

He must not have gone out through the mountain. But a dim white light was leaking through the gaps in the rubble that covered Rintaro.

When Rintaro kicked up the debris and stepped outside, he found himself in a fairly large space with a circumference of about two or three hundred meters. The floor was covered with swords like tiles, and the ceiling of swords folded into a dome-like shape had a mixture of swords that emitted pale light in places.

It was like a planetarium adorned with swords.

Rintaro’s gaze fell on “the person” at the center of the space.

If anyone could be in such a beautiful and dangerous place, it would be none other than her.

「Minato……!」

The maiden wore her overlapping large and small swords as if they were a dress. And yet, the blades never harmed her long, dark hair or her smooth, white skin.

Her cool, downcast eyes are closed as if in prayer, and the way she slept, trapped by the sword and surrounded by gentle light, was even mysterious.

She looked exactly like a princess from the land of swords, asleep on her throne.

「Geez, there was quite the unexpected Sleeping Beauty.」

Rintaro, a little relieved to see Minato, immediately took out a small bottle of the secret medicine that Zazoma had given him. He was told that if he could pour this on Minato or make her drink it, Minato would regain consciousness and the Sword Mountain Monster would disappear.

「Forgive me for not giving you a prince kiss…」

Opening the lid of the vial, Rintaro walked up to Minato, who was sleeping quietly. A moment later, he was about to touch Minato’s white cheek.

Shubah!!

「Uwah!?」

With a sound that cut through the wind, a sword struck at Rintaro. The sparkling tip of the sword grazed Rintaro’s cheek, and a trickle of red blood trickled from the wound.

「Hey, seriously? You’ve got to be kidding me… After coming this far.……」

Rintaro’s eyes widened, not because of the wound on his face.

The sword had pierced through the vial of secret medicine.
