Chapter 292: Werewolves Vs Vampires

"What happened here?", a woman asks after she saw blood covering the surroundings.
The man beside the woman also frowns after he saw the blood, there is even a corpse with its guts scattered everywhere and by the looks of it, its deaths are still recent.
With the corpse and blood, the man felt the bad omen, "I don't think we should continue"
"This is wrong, we need to go back. These corpses are high rank Awakened", the man said, he then went to his knee and inspect the corpse in front of him, "Whatever kills him, it happened so fast since there is no sign of struggle"
The man can feel the powerful mana leftovers from the corpse, the corpse is definitely a high-rank Awakened that got attacked by something.
Knowing this, the high-rank Awakened should be able to defend himself.
But the surrounding stated otherwise, the trees around this place are still intact and the ground doesn't have any signs of a battle. With a sixth rank power, destroying this place should be easy.
Hearing this, the woman also hesitated to continue.
But then she suddenly shakes her head, "He might be around here, we need to help him!"
After saying that, the woman runs forward following the trails of blood that should guide her to whatever powerful creature caused all of this.
Seeing this, the man widened his eyes as he follow the woman, "Wait! It's too dangerous!"
The more they travel deeper into the forest, the blood trails, and corpses increase.
It pummeled the woman's will to keep going further, but when the man was about to convince the woman to go back since this place is obviously dangerous.

A crashing sound suddenly can be heard from their front,
Then the sound of many trees broken as something crashes through them can be heard from the right, it piqued their attention and without much thinking, the woman runs in the sound direction.
"NO! STOP!", the man shouted and grab the woman's arm.
Feeling the tight grab around her arm, the woman looks back at the man and said, "He might be in danger, shouldn't we help?! The city's people said they went this way!"
"I know, but you know that we can't do anything to help him", the man said convincingly.
But the woman only shakes her head stubbornly, she then twists her arm breaking free from the man's grab before she runs away completely ignoring the man calling for her.
It didn't take long for the two of them to exit the forest,
When the woman went through the forest, she saw a huge cliff in front. There are also Vampires around the place that makes the woman gasp in surprise.
But then, her eyes landed on a man that has his neck choked by a Vampire.
"Rex...?", she said lightly after she realized who the man is.
A honeyed voice suddenly calls out to Rex from the side, the voice is very familiar to Rex and he's hoping that he heard it wrong since the situation is not good.
Rex tries to turn his head to the side under Ana's grip.
After he manage to look to his right, his eyes widen as he saw two familiar faces.
He can't believe that the both of them arrive at a very bad time, there's a Seventh Rank Vampire holding his neck and he can't do anything about it.
The two familiar faces are Rosie and Edward.
Both of their body stopped when they saw Rex get held up by a Vampire.
They also saw Kyran and Adhara lying on the ground unmoving, the leftovers of battle can be seen around this place as both of their eyes widen.
"Another snack?", Ana suddenly said with a creepy smile.
Hearing this, Rex struggles even more as he said chokingly, "Don't! Leave them alone"
"You know them? This might become more fun than it already is", Ana said as she glance at Issac and signals him to bring Rosie and Edward to her.
Issac then looks at both of them with a fierce glare.
By the aura Edward and Rosie emitted, both of them are not as strong as Rex and the others.
The realization that Edward and Rosie are weaker makes Issac smile brutally, his confidence shot up as he walks pridefully towards them.
"You want me right?! Then take me!", Rex shouted desperately.
But hearing this makes Ana's smile even wider, by Rex's reaction she know that these two humans are something to Rex and this makes her delighted.
She then said, "Let's play a bit more, that expression of yours is tempting"
Rex struggles to break free as he uses all of the skills in his arsenal, he even uses the Berseker Curse as a red crescent moon symbol appeared on his forehead.
Even with all of that, Ana is still stronger than him by a mile.
"Keep struggling, I like it that way", Ana said as she looks at Issac who is approaching the two.
Seeing Issac coming at them, Edward steps forward to shield Rosie before his body burns with a dark fire that shocks Rosie since she has never seen this before.
Her eyes widen as she can feel Edward's power already reaches fifth rank and even more.
This makes her bite her lips as she looks at Rex, Edward, and the others one by one in thought.
"Rosie, run away from here right now and ask the city to bring reinforcements. I'll hold this one down, hurry!", Edward said while he went into his battle stance.
Right after he said that, "Going somewhere so soon?"

Issac propelled himself forward like an arrow of blood, his speed is fast that it is slightly faster than a peak fifth rank Awakened.
CLANG!
His claws were met with Edward's daggers as they locked in a struggle.
But the red scales suddenly started to appear on Issac's arms as Edward felt Issac getting stronger, Issac's increase in strength can be clearly seen since Edward got pushed slowly back by Issac.
Knowing that he will lose in a strength fight, Edward parries his claws and send a rising knee to Issac's chin.
Issac saw this coming as red scales covered his face, and when Edward's knee landed it got blocked completely by the red scales that didn't make Issac move ever a bit.
Seeing this, Issac smiles lightly and sent a roundhouse kick to Edward's head.
BAM!
Edward raises both of his arms to block the kick, but even so, the kick is very powerful that it sends him crashing away as his arm started to throb making the daggers in his hand flung away.
After getting rid of Edward, Issac smiles as he looks at where Rosie runs off to.

He dashes into the forest with an evil smirk as follows Rosie's trail.
This happened while Rex is still got held by Ana, he wanted to use the Invincible item but he's worried that Ana already know of his bluff.
Even the demons know about his bluff against the Shapeshifter at Faraday University.
So there's no guarantee that Ana who seems from a high-ranking family of Vampires didn't know, especially since the Vampires and Demons are the ones who coordinated an attack at the Great Barricade and successfully breached it.
The alliance between both of them is strong, and this makes Rex worried that if he uses the Invincible Item then it will be wasted.
But there's a part of him that says otherwise.
Rosie might be in danger, he needs to do something to help her.
If Kyran and Adhara got stabbed or beaten up, Rex is not that worried since they both are Werewolves, and if not fatal both of them will heal.

Seeing this, Rex's eyes widen as anger bubbled inside of him.
The state Rosie is currently in pain himself, she even started coughing blood as she lies on the ground weakly with many injuries.
By the look of her arm that is twisted, it seems she struggles from Issac but Issac broke her arm.
His berserk stats started to increase by the second as his eyes went red in anger.
