The ground turn black as Rex activate his Black Field Orko spell, black lightning tentacles appear from the ground before they wrap Maurice's body like a snake pinning him on his spot.

Maurice tries to burn the black lightning tentacles,
But every time he manage to burn one black lightning tentacle, another one replaced the burnt one and this keeps on repeating endlessly.
It's like Rex has infinite mana as the black lightning tentacle keeps this cycle.
Duncan and the woman panic when they saw this,

A katana flew past them before it grazes Maurice's cheek leaving a red line before stabbing the wall behind them, Maurice was occupied by the black lightning tentacles resulting in him opened to any other attack.

All of his limbs are shackled by the black lightning tentacles, he can break free from the black lightning tentacles eventually but he could've just died right there!

But he already poked his eyes forcefully so he can't just stop, Maurice then steeled his will before pulling his eyeballs and yanking them out of their sockets ignoring the pain.

Duncan and his wife look away unable to see the scene where their son turns blind.
"AARGHH!", Maurice shouted after he throw both of his eyeballs to his front, his eyeballs landed right in front of Rex as he look at this scene with calm eyes.
Unknown to them, Rex was quite surprised upon seeing this.
"THERE YOU GO FUCKER! I DID WHAT YOU TOLD!", Maurice shouted with his now hollow eyes.
Blood is flowing down his face from his eyes, it looks as if he's crying blood.
Feeling the throbbing pain after pulling his eyes out that are still stabbing him, Maurice covers his now hollow eyes before he uses his fire element to stop the bleeding.
It was painful as he groans in agony, but the bleeding really stopped.
'I thought he will run away or do something dumb, he's quite brave', Rex thought while nodding his head a little, he's surprised to find that Maurice has the gut to do this.
But this makes Rex sigh, his eyes then lit up as he looks at the woman.
With a wide smile, Rex then said, "Now is your turn, take both of your eyes out"
"Haven't Maurice proven our sincerity?! Don't bring my wife into this!", Duncan rebutted with a hint of anger, he saw how terrified his wife is.
Hearing this, Rex scoffed, "Oh? Are you refusing?"

Duncan gets up before intending to tackle Rex with his body engulfed in fire, the fire that cloaked his body acts as armor amplifying his aura by a notch.
