Meanwhile, in a small city in the western part of Stonecrest region called Kudu City, Shu Liang was participating in an open tournament for young rogue cultivators. And although, it was specifically organized for vagrant cultivators—disciples and heirs of cultivating families (not clans) were welcomed to participate.

Stories were told though that the city was known as such as it was once the home of the Great Woodland Antelope—one of the common bred beast that was known to have ever broken through the Divine realm.

While there were still Woodland Antelopes demonic beasts in the area, none was believed to have achieved the same feat as the Great Woodland Antelope.

On the other hand, said open tournament was meant to give the grand winner a chance to join the Stonecrest region's team that would represent in the sub-competition for young rouge cultivators during the gathering of the Five Great sects.

And even if such sub-competition in that gathering was not sanctioned by the Heavenly Dragon Sect of the Kunlun mountains, it was nevertheless still prestigious in the cultivation world as it would obviously entail bragging rights especially among the community of rouge cultivators.

But in truth, Shu Liang was not really intent on winning the open tournament, she was simply trying to gauge her own strength and trying to have fun at the same time in her adventure.

She was not thus interested in joining the team going to Kunlun Mountains region—and in some sense, winning the open tournament would just be a bonus.

So far, she was having a time of her life in her adventure. As a matter of fact, when she actually joined the contest, she had already broken through to mid Earth stage of the Sage realm which clearly became timely advantageous for her.

'Wooosh,' 'wooosh,' 'wooosh.'

'Baaam,' 'baaam.'

At the moment, Shu Liang was fighting an initial Earth stage Sage Water elemental affinity cultivator.

Her opponent seemingly could not follow her attacks and just stayed on the defensive in one corner of the stage.

By efficiently utilizing her movement skill, Shu Liang appeared to be blindingly fast. Her Wind element together with her flawless combination of 'Cloud Steps,' and the alternate use of 'Wind Claw' and 'Wind Blades,' made her battle a sight to behold which made her one of the tournament favorites among spectators.

In fact, she had not yet revealed her trump card 'Whirlwind,' which she had been intentionally reserving should she meet strong Sages in the succeeding rounds.

'Wabooom.'

And with just few moves, Shu Liang already knocked her opponent outside the platform to the bewilderment of the noisy audience.

A Heaven stage Sage elder in the city then appeared on the stage and gathered his Qi aura to make the announcement.

"Winner of the third match in the second round," the announcer yelled, "the 'Raging Gale'."

Apparently, Shu Liang had already made a moniker early in the tournament attributed to her style of unleashing successive Wind elemental attacks.

"Ra - ging - Gale."

"Ra - ging - Gale."

The cheer was loud.

Immediately after the match, Shu Liang jumped off the stage and proceeded to take a seat in the audience in order to watch the next fight with the noisy cheer still reverberating in the air.

However, before even reaching her spot, another young Sage suddenly blocked her path who emitted an initial Sky stage of the Sage realm Qi aura.

"Ah."

Shu Liang was taken aback by the unexpected appearance of a cultivator in front of her. She thought, it was 'again' one of the clans in the city who were eagerly recruiting her after seeing her fight earlier in the day.

However she was surprised with what happened next.

"What a bunch of trash," the young cultivator suddenly smirked actually referring to the audience. "Adoring such a weakling like you."

Shu Liang smiled and stared at the young cultivator trying to appear unafraid in order to brush the instigation off.

"It's Zhang Xuan," a random spectator suddenly exclaimed.

Apparently, Zhang Xuan was the son of a wealthy cultivating family in Kudu City who was also a contest participant and was considered as the open tournament's the topmost contender.

"Why don't you just go back to whichever backwater village you come from and scram," Zhang Xuan arrogantly said. "You're just going to lose anyway.. so save yourself the embarrassment."

The audience near the two already forgot that the next match was already starting as they were keenly observing the more interesting show unfolding right in front of them.

"Hah," Shu Liang smirked. "Let's see soon who's going to embarrass who.."

She then walked her way passing by on the left side of Zhang Xuan while shaking her head—but before she even got far, she halted for a moment and gave the arrogant 'young master' a parting shot.

"If I were you," she scornfully said, "I'd better tell the organizers of the tournament to rig the matches and make you avoid meeting me early."

The statement was so clear that the spectators' facial expressions was filled with jeers towards Zhang Xuan.

Zhang Xuan was furious.

He would want to land a strike on Shu Liang right there and then but he was stopped by his own reasons and just thought that he would have his vengeance in the match so he just turned his back and went his way.

'I'll kill you,' he thought.
