Chapter 15.1: Keep Yourself Chaste for Me
The morning sun’s rays shone in through the water curtain and although it was not as bright inside the cave compared to outside, it was brighter than it was at night.
Xuanyuan Mo slowly came awake and saw that tiny face peacefully asleep beside him, his eyes flashing with a ripple of emotion.
Although he had been unconscious last night, he was aware of the things she had done last night. When he recalled how she had fed him the medicine last night, Xuanyuan Mo’s face could not help but flush a bright red.
Duanmu Xi was awakened by the fragrant scent of cooking meat, and she discovered that her body was covered with the youth’s black outer robe again. She was in a surprised daze when a succulent and mouth watering rabbit leg appeared before her eyes.
“Thanks.”
Duanmu Xi woodenly accepted the rabbit leg.
“Here, return you your robe.”
Duanmu Xi stood up, and brought the robe over to the youth.
Xuanyuan Mo looked at the ill fitting white clothes on Duanmu Xi and his face flushed a faint red before he quickly averted his eyes.
“You wear it. I have other clothes to wear.”
Duanmu Xi then saw that the youth was no longer wearing the white inner robe anymore, but was dressed in another black brocade robe.
Seeing his face glowing red, Duanmu Xi felt rather speechless against how conservative ancient people were and was rather amused by his bashfulness.
“In that case, thanks!”
She suddenly remembered that the Vast Heaven Continent seemed to be a world where women reigned. No wonder the youth was blushing so easily.
It was only after he saw that Duanmu Xi had put on his clothes that Xuanyuan Mo turned his eyes back.
The corners of Xuanyuan Mo’s eyes were slightly raised, as seeing her wearing his clothes somehow made him feel rather happy.
After the two of them finished breakfast Xuanyuan Mo then took out a black half circle jade pendant with a carving of a wolf on it and gave it to Duanmu Xi.
“Xuanyuan Mo is my name. This is for you. Thank you.”
Duanmu Xi took the jade pendant. The jade pendant was black as ink, so fine the grain lines were mutton fat, smooth and lustrous.
[Is this a token of appreciation for her? Shows quite a not of sincerity at least.]
Duanmu Xi toyed with it in her hand for a moment before she kept the jade pendant away in her clothes.
When Xuanyuan Mo saw her accept his jade pendant, a sliver of delight rose up in his heart.
“I need to go.”
Duanmu Xi stood up and adjusted the black robe that was a little too big for her.
“Go where?”
Xuanyuan Mo was a little confused by her sudden and abrupt statement.
“Home.”
“Then I’ll send you back.”
Xuanyuan Mo instinctively did not feel like parting with her so quickly and just blurted out those words without a thought.
Duanmu Xi’s mouth tugged slightly. [Are we on such familiar terms? You want to walk me home?]
Lan Ze sneered inside the dimensional space as well. [You clearly just kissed the guy last night and now you’re claiming you’re not on that familiar terms.]
But as she was completely not familiar with this world at all, it would be good to have him accompanying her anyway, or at least she would not lose her way and go around in circles.
“Alright then. Thanks.”
The two of them then got up and walked over to the mouth of the cave.
