Angel shook the bars of the cage one last time before breaking down into a sobbing mess, for the last three hours she had been trying to escape. Once she had blacked out before, she had woken up in this cage in a dusty room. There were shards of glass littered on the floor and rust on the bars of the cage, giving the illusion that it was old. But Angel could tell after hours of rattling the bars that the cage was made from an extremely tough metal she had never seen before, there were other people in the room too.
Well if you could call them people, some had fluffy ears protruding from their heads and others had one eye and long tusks sticking out of their mouths. Angel had tried to talk to them but the only response she had gotten was from a very strange creature with gills, it had told her to be quiet because they might hear her. But who was the creature so afraid of? Angel had no idea where she was and just wanted to go home, eventually though she quietened down and sat down on the dirty cage floor.
Angel winced in pain as something stuck out from her back, slowly she turned to inspect what it was when she gasped and screamed. "N-no no no, this can't be real" she shook her head in utter disbelief as she inspected the feathery black wings on her back, they were soft and light but at the same time when she touched them they became hard and scaly. "oh my god" Angel whipped around to see a creature with long talons for fingers in the care next to her staring at her wings, it looked up at her in astonishment "your the.. oh my god" it spoke again in a raspy voice that sounded like sandpaper on wood.
Angel stared at it "I'm the what?" she snapped at him, the creature seemed to snap out of a trance when it next looked at her "so sorry, I forgot to introduce myself. My name is Abdelhadi but you may call me Abi " he said. Angel looked at him with a puzzled look on her face "why is your name Servant of the supreme leader?" she said. Abi smiled and tapped his nose with a finger and winked " you will find out soon enough, but may I ask how did you know what my name meant?" Angel looked at him confused "you said it? I don't get what you mean" she said.
Abi's eyes widened "you really are her!" he said excitedly, Angel looked at him puzzled again "I'm who?" she said. He glanced at her and smiled again "do you wish to escape this place" he said, Angel stared with a fresh glimmer of hope in her eye "yes I-" she was saying before he cut her off "then you must listen to everything I say" he said. Angel wanted badly to ask how they would escape but instead sighed and nodded her head "good" Abi said before he turned to the bars of his cage and started fiddling with his talons. Then he turned around really quickly and made his talons even longer then he slashed them across the metal, after waiting a couple of seconds he groaned "it's no use I need you to try now" Angel looked at him with an expression of disbelief on her face "w-what do you mean? I can't do that" she said shaking her head. Abi looked at her and nodded " you can" he said firmly, then he pointed a talon at her wings "think of something that makes you scared or angry and focus on that feeling" he said.
Angel felt like she should listen so summoning up all her courage and started thinking about how she had been thrown in a van and carried somewhere far away from her mum, and how angry that made her. Suddenly she heard a large snap, when she looked around she saw Abi jumping around in excitement "You did it!" he pointed at her wings again with a trembling talon. Angels almost fainted when she saw that her wings had become as sharp as daggers, they were pointed up dangerously and spread out in a fan of sorts. Abi turned to her still very excited "now drag them across the metal! " he said. Angel whipped her wings across the bars, she let out a yelp of excitement when the bars broke and clattered to the floor. "I'M FREE" she yelled and jumped from the cage with her wings spread wide, just then a door burst open and a lady with a lab coat dropped a platter of something on the floor, she said something in a language Angel didn't understand then she ran out of the room "oh shit" Angel said as she heard the sound of heavy footsteps...
