On the 88th floor, it was quiet. The sun shone through the floor-to-ceiling windows onto the spotless floor. By imposing a massive desk in the office sat a handsome figure, working hard on some documents.

Someone pushed the door open, casually, like he had done it many times before. He sat onto the grand desk, looking jolly. "Spencer, it's lunchtime. Let's go. I've booked a table at The Capital Grill." Steve Walken grinned.

He was one of Spencer's besties. They had been friends since childhood.

Spencer Davidson had just returned from a trip abroad and was busy dealing with some company matters. He had totally forgotten about time. "What brought you here?" He looked up from the thick pile of documents.

He knew Steve well. He must have a hidden agenda.

Steve smirked. "Hahaha. Can I borrow your new Porsche?" He loved supercars. Whenever he heard about a new one, he would not miss it.

Spencer had guessed it and wasn't surprised at all. He rolled his eyes and sipped his tea. Impatiently, he said, "It was only delivered here yesterday. Where did you get the news from?"

"Well..." Steve smiled broadly. "It doesn't matter. What matters is I treat you to lunch, and you lend me your car. Deal."

Spencer was speechless.

As Steve was waiting for Spencer to get ready to leave, he picked up the remote control and turned on the TV.

"Isn't that Nathalia Carter?! Wow. Shit. She's taken a good beating from her brother. Poor girl." The news was on, and the video clip was playing.

Even though he had only met Nathalia once briefly, he remembered her as calm and smart from the party and took pity on her.

Spencer stared at the screen, astounded and furious. He smashed his teacup onto the wall and cursed madly, "Bastard!"

"Animal!"

"Barbarian!"

Steve was startled and bewildered. Then he suddenly remembered what Spencer had gone through and immediately switched off the TV. The TV was off, but Spencer's anger was still rising. Steve grew worried and tried to distract him, "Come, Spencer. Let's go for lunch."

"I need to make a phone call first." Spencer picked up the phone, dialed a number. He looked cold and stern.

"Stop all the business with the Carter's right now." He demanded.

You stupid girl. Why didn't you ask me for help?

Why did you have to go that way?

Stupid! Stupid! Stupid! He screamed in his mind.

He thought angrily and worriedly.

Just in a few minutes' time, he seemed to have changed to a totally different person. He was fuming with anger.

Steve let out a deep sigh, thinking He hasn't got over it yet. To show support, he made a phone call and made the same order to his staff, no more business with the Carters.

Steve patted him on his shoulder and explained without explaining, "Spencer, you are my best friend."

Spencer looked into Steve's eyes, and anger slowly disappeared from him as he rested his hand on Steve's and said, "Thank you."

Half an hour later, both the Davison Group and the Walken Corporation held an impromptu press conference to announce the decision. It was shocking news in the business field. Instantly, all the other companies followed suit. More press conferences were held, and the same decision was made public.

The Carter's was crushed, quick and sudden. Their stock price hit the circuit limit two weeks in a row. The once Miami's No.1 enterprise was now tumbling down.

All the staff grew worried and restless. Anxiety and tension filled the air.

The shareholders were vexed, and all blamed Frank Carter for their loss. Everyone pointed their fingers at him, demanding a solution from him.

Frank tried every possibility he could think of. He had been running about, seeking help but had no luck. All the banks refused to give him a loan. Worried, and sleep-deprived, he looked like he had aged vastly in just two weeks' time.

Meanwhile, Anne Carter and her two children had been hiding at home. As soon as they left the house, they were surrounded by the paparazzi and attacked by scolding from the public. Some had even thrown bottles at them. So, they had learned/ been forced to stay in.

Evette felt really sorry for herself. She could not understand why she had to take the blame as well. I didn't do anything wrong. Why do I have to be involved in this shit? Again and again, she complained and even blamed her brother, Zack.

It was because of Zack. I can't even go out, can't go to school, can't answer any phone calls. This is like being in prison!

I've had enough. This is driving me crazy.

Despite his age, Zack was a child and a helplessly spoiled one. Expectedly, he would never take the blame. He would not even listen to his parents, let alone his sister. The two of them end up arguing the whole time they were confined to the house.

Anne Carter had no idea what to do. She loved both her daughter and son. She couldn't just stand by one's side and neglect the other. At the same time, neither of them listened to her. The house had turned into chaos. Everything and everyone was in a mess, except Nathalia.

She stayed in her room, left in peace and quiet. Anne Carter was exhausted, trying to have some quiet time from her two spoiled children and had no time for Nathalia. The only one that would go into Nathalia's room was the housemaid, bringing food and drinks regularly. She enjoyed her own space.

They must be in a mess now. Nathalia thought, pleased with herself.

You deserve it. All of you. I am just beginning to collect all your debt. Soon all of you will regret making my life miserable.
