Zoe didn't get upset as she knew why Mrs. Davidson was angry. She replied patiently, "I bought it, especially for you."

Though Mrs. Davidson was almost fifty years old, as she had been spoiled and loved since she was born and rarely socialized with people, she had maintained the innocence and naivety of a child.

"You bought it, really?" Mrs. Davidson asked, half convinced. Stubbornly, she thought that it must be Nathalia who bought it and she would not accept that.

"Really! I went out to buy it for you." Zoe smiled. She's just like a lovely little child. I know she knows that it's Nathalia who bought it and she wants it, but she needs an excuse.

Mrs. Davidson pouted her lips, hesitated a bit, and said, "Alright. I will have a bite then as it's you that bought it."

She ended up devouring the whole sandwich and downed the glass of milk. Zoe was very pleased. This was the first time she had eaten so much. Mrs. Nathalia Davidson is so clever. She always knows what to do.

Nathalia went straight to bed after she returned home and woke up the next morning to receive a message from Spencer saying he'd arrived safely. It made her smile. Then she saw the empty space on the bed and was reminded that she was alone and heaved a sigh.

I miss him! I miss him! I miss him very much! It's only been one day.

She went to class as usual, though her heart was not there at all. She sat by the window in the classroom and daydreamed, not listening to the professor at all.

The bell rang, and everyone left. Nathalia was tidying her bag slowly when a girl came to her and said, "Hello, Mrs. Nathalia Davidson."

Nathalia looked up to see a pretty face with big eyes and a pointed chin, dressed trendily and expensively.

"Yes?" Nathalia was a bit puzzled and surprised as she never socialized with other students. It was mainly because they did not have much in common. Most students were into celebrities, but she was not interested at all. And the films and TV shows that everyone was talking about, she found them immature.

She didn't take the initiative to socialize with others, and others tended to keep a distance from her, so she hadn't really made any friends.

The pretty face smiled at her and asked, "Do you know who I am?" She seemed to be purely curious and with no bad intention.

"Hmm?" Nathalia hesitated. "Sorry I don't think so. I guess you are in the same class as me?"

It was as the girl expected, so she didn't seem disappointed. With a smile, she said, "I'm Katie Ford, Nicolas Ford's daughter."

Nicolas Ford? Ah. I see. One of the shareholders. Nathalia didn't know that Nicolas' daughter was also in Queenland.

"Nice to meet you, Katie." Nathalia smiled.

Katie had, in fact, known Nathalia for over two years and had met her a few times, but they never really spoke to each other. It was obvious that Nathalia didn't remember her. She felt a bit hurt, but then thought that was what Nathalia was like and wasn't bothered about it.

"What are you going to wear to the party tonight?" Katie asked.

"Huh?" Nathalia was confused. "Party?"

Katie was surprised by Nathalia's reaction. Everyone says she's smart and intelligent, but she doesn't even remember the party tonight?

"Yeah. The welcoming party for Mr. Nate Morgan. I heard that you are invited to. Our family is attending as well." Nicolas Ford, her father, was part of the board of the Carter's Company, and her mother owned a big department store, which was a family legacy. It was reasonable that the Fords were invited.

Nathalia then realized the party was tonight. "Ah, I see. I don't feel very well today, so I don't think I will go to the party."

She had no intention of attending at all. She had met Nate Morgan, and she did find him good looking, but it had nothing to do with her.

Concerning business and the company, she knew it wasn't her responsibility. And The Trend wasn't invited, so she didn't need to worry about it.

"That's a shame, but I hope you get better soon." Katie felt relieved hearing Nathalia's answer, thinking if she attends, she gets all the attention, and the rest of us will just be ignored.

Nathalia said thank you politely and bid her goodbye.

Her driver was waiting at the gate. He opened the door for Nathalia. Nathalia got in and felt a sudden sense of frustration. What's wrong with me? She felt like a lost ghost wandering about aimlessly.

Life seems to have lost all the colors without Spencer around. Come on! Nathalia! You were not like this. You used to enjoy life on your own. She scolded herself silently. I've grown used to being with him.

The driver watched her quietly for a while, awaiting an order, but not receiving any, he asked, "Mrs. Nathalia Davidson, home?"

Nathalia thought for a while and told the driver the name of a place. She didn't want to go home. A home without Spencer seemed so empty and cold. She realized once again, how important Spencer had become in her life.

Looking out of the window, wandering in her random thoughts, Nathalia caught sight of two familiar figures. She smiled and said to the driver, "Pull over here."

It was Daniel Brown and Zack Carter. They were walking down the street together, chatting and laughing. They seemed to be enjoying each other's company.

Nathalia watched them observantly. Daniel was carrying a big shopping bag full of stuff. He seemed to be in a very good mood. Zack was wearing new outfits, a blue shirt, and jeans, and he looked very well, much better than when she last saw him.
