Lisa would never believe it. When she divorced, someone had said the same thing to her, and she understood how hurting it was.

"He is right! This girl is cursed! Her mother and her grandfather died because of her, and the Carters were ruined by her. Now she's doing it to my son! I won't let it happen! You hear me?!" Sue glared at both Lisa and Nathalia furiously.

I should have known earlier! I shouldn't have let them be together! What have I done?! She thought remorsefully.

Nathalia was shaking terribly despite herself. She wouldn't allow herself to shed a tear. "As long as he comes back safe, I will do anything you want. As long as he lives, that's all I am asking. Even if I can never see him again."

She blamed herself. Why did I hurry him?!I could wait a few more days! I just want him safe. I just want him home. It's all my fault! I love him so much.

Lisa frowned and said, "Don't be silly, Nathalia..."

"I mean it. As long as Spencer comes home safe, I will leave. I will stay away from him and all of you." Sudden sharp pains struck her heart, and she gasped for breath. I just want him to live! Even if he marries someone else and has a new family, I don't care. I just want him to live!

Sue patted her chest and started sobbing aloud, "Spencer! My boy! You have to live. I can't let anything happen to you! I can't live without you!" Her son had been the hope that supported her all these years. She would have given up long ago if it wasn't for Spencer. God, if you take my boy, I'll take my own life. She thought to herself.

Curt knitted his brows and took Sue to sit down on the sofa. "Sue, listen to me. We are fighting against time now. Every second count! We have to save our son. The airline company is doing the best they can now, and the last thing we want is to waste their time here." He said sincerely and seriously.

Seeing the determination on Curt's face, Sue felt comforted and supported. Yes! Curt's right. He can do anything. As long as he places an order, things get done. He will save our son!

Now that Sue had quietened down, Curt stood up, glanced around at everyone, and said clearly, "Get down to work. Take every possible method, you know. I have to have my son a safe home! If, if anything happens to my son, none of you will get away easily."

One thing he had learned in his life was to hope for the best, do the best, and prepare for the worst. Yet, this time, the worst was too heartbreaking to even think about.

On hearing so, the manager of the airline panicked and had to take a deep breath to calm himself down to speak. "Yes, Mr. Davidson. We will do our best..."

Nathalia sat on a chair, looking ghastly. She clenched her fists tight, praying quietly. Time clicked away, and the sun had slowly climbed above the horizon. Sunlight shone through the window. It was another sunny day.

Nathalia had always loved the morning sun, yet now she felt like she was locked in a freezer. She felt cold. It was a chill that penetrated her heart. Every minute, every second of waiting was torture. She tried to recall the beautiful memories with Spencer, but her mind wouldn't listen.

Lisa sat next to her, keeping her arms around her shoulder. She felt so frustrated that she could feel her pain, but she couldn't do anything to help. "Nathalia, Spencer will surely come back. He loves you, dearly. He won't leave you alone. Trust him. He will come back."

By now, they still hadn't located the exact place where the plane crashed. It was not an easy task, especially as it happened at night time.

Nathalia didn't cry, but she looked exhausted and pale. Her eyes were red from tiredness. "Will he?"

"Certainly." Lisa thought that was the only thing she could do to keep her hopeful.

The door was pushed open, and everyone turned to look. In came the president of Royal Airline. He was wearing a heavy and grim face.

They all jumped up instantly, "Any news?" "What did you find out?"

The president shook his head, looking even heavier. "I'm afraid it's not very positive. It's confirmed that the plane crashed into the Pacific Ocean. We have informed the ferries and cruises around. The helicopters are on the way..." He said sternly.

They had used all the resources and technology they had and found out where the accident happened within twenty hours. It was something extraordinary. But to the family, it was still too slow.

Curt and Sue looked at each other silently. They both had many questions in their mind, but they were too nervous and worried to ask. The Pacific Ocean! That's the most dangerous. Curt thought worriedly. There would be a better chance if it was on land.

Nathalia bit her lips, and with great effort, she asked carefully, "What about the people on the plane? Are they still alive?" All she wished for was to know that Spencer was alive.

The president looked at Nathalia apologetically. "I, I can't promise. I hope you are prepared for the worst, but perhaps, maybe... there's still hope."

The plane sent an SOS, but they lost contact just five seconds after the signal was received. Apart from that, they had not received any signal or managed to trace any contact.

It was more likely that it was doomed, but the president couldn't tell the Davidson family so.
