Several important guests showed up at Leydon's engagement party, including his family, friends, and celebrities from his family entertainment agency.

Catherine showed up, holding Sean's arms. The pair drew lots of attention, and the guests were wondering who they were.

Catherine has got a rough idea of whom Leydon's family associated with at Leydon's grandmother's birthday party. Once she has seen what Leydon's family events were like, she got used to them. Besides, the amount of time she spent with Sean made her oblivious of how others looked at her. If some kept inquisitive looks, she would even smile politely as a response.

Some were astounded by Catherine's bright smile, rosy cheeks, and loveliness since she was a charming girl.

Catherine saw the bride-to-be and the bridegroom-to-be.

Leydon wore the hand-made suit and had a hair-do. He looked so handsome, yet so cold. Catherine couldn't see any ripples in his looks like he couldn't care less about the engagement and had to get through with the ceremony.

"Congratulations!" Sean patted Leydon's shoulders as he said so with a genuine voice.

No matter why Leydon chose to marry Emma, Sean knew he had to say congratulations.

Leydon forced a smile, saying, "Thanks."

Catherine said, "Congratulations. You have a lovely fiancee."

Emma was gorgeous with her perfect bride makeup. Like a flower in blossom, she wore the dress that brought her curvy figure. A beautiful name for a beautiful bride-to-be, Catherine thought. Emma and Leydon were such a match.

Emma knew who Sean and Catherine were. She greeted me with the proper smile, "Thank you for coming to my engagement. Please, help yourself to a few drinks."

Catherine smiled, "Okay. Thanks. I wonder if Clara is coming."

Leydon's look froze.

Emma smiled, "Clara might not make it since she's still at the shooting scene. She loves her work so much and couldn't get back for her own brother's wedding."

Catherine said, "Clara is a driven professional woman. But I think she can make it home."

Emma said, "I should hope so."

Catherine knew neither Emma nor her made any genuine remarks. She just said things normally said at such events. It made her a hypocrite. And somehow, she couldn't like Emma. What she did and said was so proper. Catherine had to doubt whether such perfection existed, or it could be a pretense.

But it didn't matter much to Catherine since she didn't meet Leydon often. Leydon should be the one to figure out what his fiancee was really like.

"Let's come inside," Catherine said.

Sean held her hand and said, "In a minute. Grandma is here. I want to see her first."

"We should," Catherine said.

Ava and Jocelyn, Leydon's grandma, looked blessed, especially the latter, who was joyful and contented. She was saying something to Ava and grinned from ear to ear.

"Hello, come and sit with us." Jocelyn said as she waved at Catherine, "Ava, I like your granddaughter-in-law more and more. I wished she was mine if Sean didn't marry her first."

Catherine forced an embarrassing smile, thinking she couldn't be less interested in Leydon.

"I'll visit you as often as I can. But if I'm your granddaughter-in-law, Sean would cry."Catherine said.

"Really? Is he capable? I haven't seen him cry since he was born."Jocelyn said.

Sean grabbed Catherine's waist in a manner to claim ownership, "Catherine is my wife. So stop it, Jocelyn."

Ava and Jocelyn laughed out.

"Jocelyn, when's Clara back?" asked Catherine.

"She just called to tell me she was off the plane. She'll be here shortly."

Emma and her parents were sitting with Leydon's. They were smiling all the time since they were both pleased with the agreement.

Catherine looked at the guests, most of which were important people from all walks of life. Once Leydon went through with the ceremony, he wouldn't have much opportunity to regret it.

"Have some juice." Sean came over with a glass of freshly squeezed juice. He asked, "What's going on?"

"Nothing."

"Tell me the truth."

"Really. It's the first time I have come to an engagement party. It's such a crowd."

"Fields family is of great significance."

"I see."

Catherine looked at Leydon and Emma, "They are a match, aren't they?"

"I think so."

"Have they set up a wedding date?"

"I don't know."

"Why don't they go ahead and get married?" Both parents would like the agreement better since Leydon has reached the proper age.

"Leydon doesn't want to get married so early."

There wasn't much difference between getting engaged and married. Once they went to the city hall to get registered, they were a married couple.

The engagement ceremony has started, but Clara didn't show up.

"She should be here soon," Sean said.

"You know who I'm looking for?" asked Catherine.

Sean sighed, "Who else could it be but Clara." He was jealous that Catherine cared more about Clara than he.

The host went on and on about the marriage between Leydon and Darby's family. He almost ran out of words to celebrate it.

But Leydon looked impatient. He frowned and looked more indifferent.

Emma grabbed his hand and asked, "Aren't you happy?"

Leydon didn't respond. Emma was displeased, feeling he was holding back on something.

Emma has known Leydon for five years. She had a first-sight crush on him. In the past years, she has been looking for every opportunity to meet Leydon and be nice to his family. Finally, they noticed her.

Emma has been calculating for too long to let her happiness be spoiled, even if Clara, the apple of the eye of her family.

The second Clara arrived, she heard how the bride-to-be and bridegroom-to-be were introduced. She was in acute pain looking at the back of the man. She didn't pull herself together until minutes later. Putting on a smile, she came in.

"Clara." Catherine saw her first. She came to her, not minding what Sean felt.

Clara said with a bit of choking, only she could hear, "I have to come to my brother's engagement."

Catherine didn't know what to say. But Clara was not alright, which she could tell.

"I have to see my grandma. See you later."Clara said.

Catherine looked at her back, lonely, heartbroken, and abandoned.
