"Clara isn't Leydon's biological sister. Have you known about it?" asked Catherine immediately.

Sean looked up at her and shortly answered, "Yeah."

"I'm surprised you know."

"Don't you think what's going on between them-"

"Leydon sees her as a sister."

"So you know there's something between them. Is it obvious? But Brad seems to miss it."

"He pretends he doesn't know. It's best to keep it under the rug."

"Poor girl. Her parents died before she could remember anything. She must be feeling harsh despite the fact that Field's family treats her nicely."

Sean wasn't pleased about the amount of attention Catherine paid to Clara. He knew she was her friend, still, he got jealous.

"Leydon sees her as a sister. She shouldn't have liked him."

"Why not? He's not her biological brother. When you like somebody, you want them to see the best in you. You want to change for them. You get worried when it rains, or the weather shows the slightest change."

"It's their matter. We shouldn't judge."

Catherine got sullen. Since Leydon and Emma got engaged, there was a good chance they got married. It all came down to misplaced feelings. Maybe Clara would quit her job a few years later. She must be worn-out by then. And where would she go then?

Sean c.a.r.e.s.sed Catherine's cheek and said, "Unhappy?"

"A bit," Catherine said.

"Just mind your own things."

What Sean didn't say was Leydon didn't come home last night. He was drinking at Brad's place all night and must be having a hangover at the moment.

Catherine knew not to meddle, nor there was a way to interfere. It is the hardest when feelings are involved. But if Clara needed her, she would be there. She just wanted her friends and families to do better than in her last life.

As it turned cold, Catherine went back to her normal life of taking lectures in school.

Due to Margo's help, she made leaping progress in design. No matter what she saw, she would draw it as inspiration.

"Catherine, it's Professor Blair's class. You can meet him again."Ethel said.

Catherine didn't raise her head, "Yeah. We're only apart for two days."

Catherine had two calculus classes every week. And she spent weekends at home. So she met Sean more and more often, like they were never apart.

"Catherine, Pearl," Ethel said.

"What?"

Catherine looked up as Pearl and Iris came through the back door. The class turned quiet.

"What's she doing here?" asked Ethel.

"Who knows."

Sean was a celebrity professor at Kings College. A lot of students came to him. Whenever it was his class, there were no spare seats. There were even students standing in the back. But most of the students were female.

When Pearl and Iris came, there were no seats available. Iris tried to ask whether they should wait for the next class. But a guy stood up and gave Pearl the seat. He was from Catherine's class.

"Thank you." Pearl smiled at the guy. He was overjoyed and couldn't stop giggling.

"How embarrassing!" Ethel said.

Catherine smiled, "Really? You might be like him when Elliot shows up."

Ethel whispered, "I won't. But you're right, Catherine. Elliot shows up."

"What?" Cecil said, "What day is it?"

Elliot came with a calculus book, wearing jeans and shirts. He went straight to Catherine's seats.

"He's coming over," Ethel said.

Catherine pretended she saw nothing.

Elliot came to Ethel but looked at Catherine, "I'm here for the lecture."

Catherine wished he never came.

Ethel stood up and tried to give Elliot the seat. But Catherine kept her down, "Sit down."

Anna sat behind them. She stood up and said, "Elliot, why don't you take my seat? I'll stand up."

Elliot looked at her and said, "It's okay. I'll stand."He thought he was better than taking the seat from girls.

"It's okay." Anna got blushed, and her voice turned gentle.

"Anna, sit down," Catherine said.

Anna looked at Catherine meaningfully.

"He must know how popular this class is. Since so many are standing, he could too."Catherine said.

"Okay," Anna said.

Elliot smiled, "Catherine's right."

Catherine found it annoying that Elliot said her name like they were old friends.

Sean came in as the bell rang. He wasn't surprised seeing the crowd since he was used to it.

"Be quiet, class," Sean said.

The class turned quiet immediately. Everyone was sitting properly and wouldn't dose off, in case Sean asked them to leave.

Last week, a student took a call during Sean's class. He threw him out by the collar and warned him not to show up.

They liked Sean's lecture as well as afraid of his temper. Since he was such an indifferent man with a volatile temper, a lot of girls were afraid to ask him on a date, even if they wanted to.

Before the class, Sean and Catherine exchanged looks for a second and looked away. This has been an unspoken habit.

Ethel smiled, noticing their interactions. She felt the class turned romantic all of a sudden.

Sean looked around the class and frowned when he saw Pearl and Iris.

Pearl sat with her back up, but her heart was racing. Sean's look was stomping on her heart. He wore blue shirts and had his hair combed back. The indifference in his looks didn't diminish his dignity and handsomeness.

Iris wasn't guilty at all. If others could come, she could either. Seeing Sean up there, looking like a real professor, her eyes were sparkled. It was a look of admiration and pride.

Sean's voice was magnetic. Before he started the lecture, so many girls had drowned in it. They couldn't stop staring at his face.

"We talked about limits in our last period and talked about derivatives just now. Do you get that?"

"Yes, Sir."

Sean wrote a string of numbers on the board fast, "I need a volunteer for the question."

There were some hands raised. But most girls' looks changed and kept their heads down. They wanted to be called but were afraid if Sean did.
