FWOOSH

A gust of wind suddenly swirled around me, followed by a sparkling trail of ice.

"It's okay… I'll get her,"

Strangely, out of all the ringing in my ears, I heard Aunty's warm voice.

I looked up before wiping the tears from my eyes.

Due to my hyperventilating, everything was so blue that I couldn't make out even the simplest of shapes.

I even almost fainted but stopped myself by biting down onto my lip.

"H-help me up," I mutter while reaching out for Electra, my hand shaking so fast you'd think I'd implode.

"O-okay," Electra responds as she supports me with her entire body.

I took a step, but my legs felt like jelly.

My face was pale, and the siberian weather didn't help at all.

"Here, let me help," Mia says as she brings a blue flame towards me.

It was warm.

It was really warm.

It was nice.

"HUFF HUFF HUFF… huff huff huff…."

I looked over the edge of the fissure, and my head began to spin.

'Big sis? Why didn't you help me?'

'Big sis? I was calling out for you… Why didn't you help me?'

"N-no… I didn't hear anything… I-I didn't hear anything!"

I stumbled back, tripping on the smallest lump of snow.

My breathing, which I thought I had gained control over, began to speed up again.

'Big sis? Why are you so useless?'

"Hey, what the hell… Do you girls hear that?" Electra asks as she rubs her temples.

"Yeah, and my head is throbbing," Lucy adds.

'Big sis… It's all your fault! It's all your fault!'

"I-I know it is… Please… I'm sorry," I mutter, but my eyes were too dry to drain any tears.

Suddenly, I got slapped in the face.

I didn't know how to react as multiple emotions flowed within and out of me.

I looked up.

"Why?" I mutter, unable to do anything.

I suddenly noticed she was crying after the blue tinge on my vision disappeared.

"Stop acting like this… You're scaring me," Electra says, tears flowing down her cheek and onto her hands.

"Electra… What's the point in living?"

"Stop acting like this!" Electra shouts.

Fwoosh

A calm gust of wind blows us to our feet.

It was chilly yet comforting.

"It's okay… You can cry as much as you want,"

Her legs were broken, and her arms were littered with cuts.

I pushed Auntie away, throwing up into the snow once again. But this time, it was just saliva and fluids from my stomach.

As soon as I wiped my mouth, I rushed over to Nuala's body.

I couldn't tell if she was unconscious or dead, but I just sat there, on my calves, staring blankly at her.

"Don't worry; she's not dead…." Auntie says, but I didn't feel any better.

"Auntie, it hurts," Clio says as she grabs Auntie's trenchcoat.

"What's wrong?"

"My head… It hurts so bad… I feel like throwing up as well,"

"*sigh*... Ethel, you have to learn to move on. The past is a scary thing… It can either make or break you… It's entirely up to you. I've seen many people break from PTSD, but I've also seen many great warriors come out of their cocoons. It is a great metamorphosis,"

"Then how… I can't stop thinking about it… It's all my fault…."

"Big sis?" I hear from below me.

It felt as if the world had stopped, and it was just the girl below me and myself.

"A-are you okay?" She asks.

I couldn't respond.

It felt like the words were stuck in my throat.

"It's okay… This is because of Leyla, right?"

I finally managed to respond, but it was just a slight nod.

"It's okay… I'm sure she's proud to see her big sister so grown up and powerful. Now that I think back on it, you seemed more like the little sister the way she had to keep helping you,"

Nuala chuckled, and so did I.

"Ah, I got you to laugh,"

Suddenly, she began coughing up blood, so I maneuvered around her head and tried to see if I could help with anything.

"A-Auntie, please save her. I'll do anything! I'll go for as many runs as you want! Just please save her!" I beg, tears finally flowing from my eyes.

"It's alright. She's already on her way here,"

A woman dressed in white robes appeared, and she had a glowing aura that comforted me.

Nuala was instantly put to sleep, and strangely, her wounds began to heal at an unnatural speed.

I looked up.

"It's okay… It's okay…" The woman says as she strokes my hair.

My eyes got heavy.

My breathing slowed down.

I laid my head against the woman's stomach.

And after a few seconds, the built-up exhaustion put me to sleep.

…

(Lucy POV)

Mom picked up Ethel, and the Brave of Healing picked Nuala.

White lights that healed our wounds traveled from the Brave of Healings body, and Auntie filled the large fissure with ice.

She then made a house atop the ice-filled fissure, and we entered without hesitation.

"Mom, can we talk?"

"Yeah… Evelyn, you're coming as well,"

"Yeah, I know," The Brave of Healing responds as we exit the icy house.

We sat down on a few chairs made from Auntie's ice before glancing at each other.

"We have to apply pressure on them, and we need time to finish training you girls," Auntie says.

"You have a plan?" The Brave of Healing asks.

"Just announce to the world not to touch us. It will add just the slightest bit of hesitation... Then I'll take it from there," Lucy says.

"Huh? Is that it?"

"Yeah… We just need somebody who can fix magical items,"

"Are you sure?"

"Yes,"

"Evelyn, can you take care of it. I gotta take care of these girls,"

"Sure, sure,"

…

A few days passed, and an announcement on the news basically said,

"All the enemies of the Brave of Ice will be completely wiped out if they even lay a finger on her children,"

The world erupted, and many people from the United Nations came to question Mom, but she gave no answer.

No matter how hard they tried to pressure her, she did not answer.

"Mom, we have to leave soon,"

"Ya," Mom replies while she stuffs her face with rice.

"Don't 'ya' me! We need to leave now! We've stayed here long enough! We need to get going!" I shout, snatching the bowl of rice from her hand.

"Okay fine…"

Soon, she packed all her stuff, and I grabbed onto her shoulder.

Our vision turned, and we appeared in the large metal box we called our base.

"Cool, I'm still hungry,"

"That's all you have to say?"

"Ye,"
