Chapter 26: Centipedes

It was currently the next day and I was walking to school. Auntie had left early so I walked by myself but I didn't care. I was just going to make it through this day and do a couple of dungeons after school.

About 30 minutes later and I had arrived at my school with the grand gate and rich young masters or mistresses. I perked up my ears to try and hear anything the school is talking about, but all I could hear were rumors about the Primordial Brave of Ice coming for something.

*sigh*

What is auntie doing? I thought she would make it a surprise…

The day passed quickly with not that many bullies picking on me. The ones that did, I ended up turning the tables with just normal hand-to-hand combat. After that, they ran away in fear... they didn't come back for more.

Right now I was currently in my 7th period or my last period and Auntie was standing at the front of the class. The kind demeanor that I saw her wear yesterday, was completely gone and she was now wearing a cold expression without even taking a glance at me.

"You students must've gotten the slip that you need for the trip we're having tomorrow. If you didn't you can come to get it after class where I will be handing it out PERSONALLY,"

It seems she already knew the poorer students didn't receive the permission slip, I mean it was practically a waste of paper since they couldn't afford to go anyway. Also, the teacher wasn't about to hand out any permission slips to useless students.

"We'll be going near the border between the US and Old Canada," Auntie explains.

The kids in the room had started talking amongst themselves, saying things like,

"Didn't Canada get destroyed by a dungeon raid?"

Or,

"Is it safe?"

You young masters and mistresses shouldn't be worrying about your safety. Your weak ȧss bodyguards will protect you. Not like we're going near any danger.

"You don't have to worry, we won't be going near any danger. It will just be on one of the walls. It is a tourist spot for most people, so bring money if you want to go shopping," Auntie says.

The rich kids made a face of confusion since they could just pay through the transactions app, but Auntie was directing it towards the poorer kids. It seems she wants to help them out, maybe pay for half of the required amount to go.

The rest of the day went relatively smoothly without anybody questioning me about James's death. Mia went to school but avoided being in my line of sight as much as possible which made me smile slightly.

"Shall I do a dungeon? Auntie should still be talking with the headmaster about the safety precautions so… I'll use this chance to slip in a dungeon,"

Instead of going for an E or D-rank dungeon, I was going to try a C-rank dungeon. After about 1 hour of going through alleyways and abandoned houses, I found a dungeon that hadn't been discovered yet.

It was in an alleyway and judging from the mana coming out, it was a B, borderline A-rank. Of course, the mana can change once I enter, so this dungeon is most likely an A-rank.

I took a deep breath in and let it out slowly before entering the portal that was wedged in the wall of a building. It will probably be discovered in about 3 hours so I should have enough time to completely clear this.

VWOOM

It was a desert. The sun was beaming on my skin as my shoes sunk into the soft dune below me. Due to the effect of my passive, I didn't break a single sweat but felt something flow faster inside me.

I first scouted the area and only saw dunes. Sand on top of sand on top of sand… nothing besides sand.

Since I had no direction to head in, I activated [Ice Fossilized Snake Necromancy]. 10s of skeletal snakes came slithering out of the dunes, bowing their upper body towards me.

"Scout the area and kill anything that gets in your way,"

As soon as I said that, I felt the dunes shift slightly.

KEKEKEKEKEKE

I tried to extinguish my emotions to get ready, but I couldn't do it. Something was blocking it.

The centipede lunged its upper body towards me, mandibles spread wide. I tried to jump and failed due to the sand below me, so I was smacked across the dunes, rolling and tumbling until friction finally stopped me.

"Shit, these things hit hard. If I didn't try to jump, I would've been split in half by that thing," I mutter, slowly standing up.

Damn, maybe I could try to use bloodlust.

As the massive insectoid crawled towards me, I tried to release my bloodlust but ended up failing. I had a hypothesis but it was only made within a quick second since I turned in the opposite direction and ran as fast as my legs could take me.

My skeletal snakes couldn't keep up so I ordered them to split up and do recon while I summoned another batch to try and stop the centipede. I grinned slightly when I saw the white bones slip out of the sand, but it quickly turned into a frown as I saw the centipede smash them into dust.

tsk

Aunties ice is slowing me down. Not physically but everything I need to win a battle is locked.

[Lesser Quetzalcoatl's Ancient Fire]

I felt a kindle of flames build up in my throat but instead of spitting it out, I swallowed it. The fire then proceeded to warm up my body. I felt nothing and then a splitting headache made my trip to the ground. I was bȧrėly able to roll away from the centipede's attack which slammed its chin towards me.

"ARGHHHH!"

The headache hurt so much I wanted to kill myself right then and there. As I took out my frostbite from my inventory everything went black.

Darkness.

And then the sun.

I looked down and saw the centipede's corpse? You could hardly call it a corpse. It was shredded in multiple places. Cut marks and frost that was slowly eating away at it, had spread throughout the entire body.

Finally, the head was cut into thousands of tiny pieces.

Suddenly I felt a sticky feeling on my body and when I looked down, there was green liquid coating my body. It was blood. The centipede's blood coated my entire body.

"Didn't Auntie say that when my body "defrosts," all the built-up negative emotion that wasn't able to escape, will come bursting out? I was only in that state for about a day and I blacked out from all the pent-up negative emotions... I can't imagine if I had been in that state for about a month. I could've torn down a city… without me even being aware of it,"

I tried to use my hands to clean some of the green blood off me but greatly failed. Since using my hands didn't work, I reached into my inventory and grabbed the drizzle skill book which I used immediately.

"[Drizzle],"

A dark cloud began to form over me with a light shower sprinkling around a 1-mile radius of me. I used the water to help scrape the goopy green blood off my skin before feeling the sand shift multiple times below me.

The clicking of mandibles could be heard… but not just one. It was 5, 10, 15, 20, 25, it kept increasing. My heart started to race and fear was slowly creeping out which only made me smile.

100s of tan and white centipedes crawled out of the sand as I released my bloodlust. The centipedes froze in fear for about 5 seconds which was enough for me to activate [Royal Ice Crown] and place the crown on my head.

I then extinguished my emotions leaving me with eyes that seemed to look down on the massive army of centipedes. The light rain continued to pour, eventually freezing into snow. It was a strange sight to see, snow in the middle of the desert.

"[Ancient Sacrifice]... [Bloodthirsty Rage],"

A panel with words appeared in front of me with a wave of deep anger trying to claw its way out.

[Number of Souls Sacrificed: 0]

The anger that I was doing my best to suppress went away, then my body was filled with power. Even the sand couldn't support my power as it formed a small crater under me.

I looked up at the charging army of centipedes and muttered,

"Bring it,"
