"HUFF HUFF HUFF… This is harder than I thought… Also, what the hell are you eating for your necks and body to be so fuċkɨnġ tough," Mason complains as he charges forward once again.

The guard who lost his hand was in the back as the remaining 2 guards charged forward, fists ready to block or punch anything that comes their way.

The other guard, who just had his knuckle cut, stepped back, taking a short breather before charging right back in.

Mason wiped a drop of sweat from his chin before hoisting his spear over his shoulder and charging in as well. And since he knew he couldn't beat the men directly, he jumped up and did a front flip, stopping in the air and trying to swing at the top of the guard's heads.

SHING

Mason's spear left only a slight scratch that didn't even draw blood… I finally understood what he meant by that earlier comment.

These guys were almost as tough as the guard Abigail had fought earlier. If they had actual good weapons, Mason would've been dead long ago.

After Mason landed back on the ground, the guards were still in the process of turning around, so he kicked the ground below him while readying his spear behind him.

SHING

His spear had collided with the scratched hand of one of the guards, immediately cutting it off. The guard winced in pain while taking a few steps back, blood dripping from his open wound.

On the other hand, the other guards continued to charge towards him and readied a punch that probably had the force of about 100 boulders behind it. But… those punches were slow, so all Mason had to do was take a few steps back, dodging the slow punches before slamming the silver blade against the rock-covered knuckles.

The demonic flames bȧrėly did anything, so he decided to deactivate it to conserve energy.

Using a power stone's ability grants the same fatigue as going for a run. It's just that they have better "stats" than a normal human, so the fatigue bȧrėly shows.

BAM BAM BAM

Mason continued this run and gun game as the guards chased after him across the dark hallway. It was only illuminated by a few lanterns occasionally… it looked like a literal dungeon.

"It seems this fight is going to end soon," I mutter.

Not only has Mason been fighting, but the other members were fighting with their lives on the line as well. They had pretty much taken care of the other guards, but this floor had sacrificed the most guards.

"So, what are we going to do about the children?" Clio asks.

"I don't know… I think they're too traumatized to be ȧssimilated back into society, but we can't just leave them," Celestine says.

"How about we take them in?" Electra suggests.

Everybody stares blankly at Electra. It was well deserved as it was the dumbest question said yet at this meeting.

"Maybe if we were older, but we aren't even out of school yet. No, we're not even in college or university," I say.

Electra shrugs it off before slumping down into her chair.

"Speaking of uni, Lucy, where are you going for college or university?" Mia asks.

"Why would I be thinking of that now?" I reply.

"You should be… or are you going to tell me that you are not going?"

"Why would I need to go? I'm planning on getting a dungeon running license a few years after high school ends… since we still have to deal with the underworld situation,"

"I won't allow that. How about you come to the university I'm going to in London. It's not cheap in the slightest, but I think you can afford it, and if you can't, then I'll pay for it," Mia suggests.

"I'm good-"

"You're not good. I want you to go to university… I know you're smart, but I don't want you fighting all the time. If you start to fight and grow your notoriety, governments or countries will come after you to try and bring you with them. That's why I want you to get another job as well," Mia cuts me off.

"Uhhhhh…. How about if Tolf becomes successful, I can do it as my job?"

"Nope,"

"Why?" I complain.

"Cause I said so… oh yeah, what are you girls doing after high school?" Mia asks after raising her head.

"I'm going to uni in London as well. The universities in the US are good, but they don't match up to the top tier ones in Asia and Europe…" Nell says.

"Same, but I was thinking of going to a university somewhere in Asia; I've always wanted to visit Korea or Japan. Sadly, Thailand was completely wiped out from a Z-rank gate a couple of years ago, so the university that my family had decided on was gone as well,"

"Wait, I thought Korea was split into two? Did you mean South Korea or North Korea?" I ask as I didn't know much about the geography of the world.

I didn't find it as fascinating as other things such as math or dungeon history.

"You do know Korea was joined back together when the United Countries was made, right?" Charna responds.

"Then why did you say you're from South Korea?" I ask.

"Did I?"

"I think so… maybe I just imagined it?" I mutter to myself.

"Where is everybody else going after high school?" Mia asks.

Everybody responded with countries in Europe and Asia, but there was one anomaly that sort of shocked us.

"Celestine and I are going to Egypt. I've always wanted to go there since I was a kid, and apparently, there is an excellent university there, so I might attend it," Clio says.

"What's so interesting about Egypt? Isn't it just sand?" I ask.

"What are you talking about? Don't you know about the pyramids?" Clio responds.

"Uh, didn't we find out they were built by aliens years ago? What's so special about them now?"

"That's what's so special. We still haven't found any information on those aliens, and I really want to see what makes the pyramids so structurally different from modern-day structures,"

"You want to be a construction worker or something?"

"Nah, I'm just really invested in them right now," Clio responds.

Just as we finished our conversation, I scanned my eyes up to the large screen in front of me.

I saw Mason standing on top of the 3 large guards' bodies. Their hands and arms were completely covered in cuts, leaving a massive pool of blood lying below them.

They actually bled to death… what a fuċkɨnġ menace.

As the drone camera moved towards the front of Mason's body, we saw that his eyes were peeled white, signaling how he was knocked unconscious… he actually finished the fight in such a badass position.

The other guards had been wiped out as well, leaving only 5 members remaining. The rest were on the floor, dead.

"Did you send the location to the other commanders?" Amanda asks Ethel.

"Yeah- oh, speak of the devil, here they come," Ethel replies.

The medics had run down the dark and creepy hallway, immediately tending to the members and Mason, who had just bȧrėly survived. And not long after, the rest of the commanders and a few members had come as well.

They checked on Mason before continuing down the hallway. It seems we weren't the only ones who suspected that something was down the hallway. I couldn't judge it from the drone, so it was up to the commanders whether they would like to test it or not.

Tup Tup Tup

The echoes of their footsteps resounded through the hallway, and it only grew creepier. Also, the number of children kept in metal cells rapidly increased.

Tup Tup Tup

How many children have been seen so far? A thousand? Two thousand?

Tup Tup Tup

Finally, they had reached the end of the hallway and right in front of the commanders was the target that we initially set out to kill and 4 small fry guards…

The commanders looked down coldly at the burning man before turning away, deactivating their demonic flames and spray painting the word "Tolf" all over the floor.

They also decided to unlock the children's cells by just slicing or bending holes through the metal bars. The commanders collectively decided to take care of the children and join Tolf even without our decision.

But in the end, we agreed as the commanders were much older than us.. In fact, they were already young ȧduŀts.
