"National Intelligence Ranking… First place," She muttered.

The girl she had been trying to deceive was actually first for intelligence in the United States of America.

"B-but why did she end up like this?"

Lucy might not have the highest Battle IQ out of her peers. She may not be the best at fighting. Her control over weapons and magic is still mediocre.

The only thing allowing her to keep up with her peers was her overpowered sword and skills provided by the system.

But something nobody could beat Lucy at, even before she obtained the system… Was intelligence.

…

"Tsk,"

I clicked my tongue after scanning my test, which I had just received through our online classroom.

My computer updated me every time I received an email so I could check it almost instantly whenever one of my ȧssignments was graded.

It was my geometry/trigonometry ȧssignment… But the grade wasn't what I wanted.

"An F again," I muttered to myself.

To be honest, I don't even know my national ranking, but I'm confident I'd be at least top 1000 in the country… if it wasn't for my school.

They don't want somebody as smart as me but has no big family, being in the ranking.

"Tch,"

I clicked my tongue once again before opening a free course that Harvard gives to the open public.

Most of it was on coding, but there were also chemical and physical biology courses that took time to time as, in my opinion, it was my worst subject.

"Oh, I don't know this," I mutter as I scrolled through the ȧssignment.

Learning something new was a treat now as I never really forgot things due to my photographic memory.

…

"Okay, we need to settle this," Charna announces to the group.

We had been split up for a while, and any longer would've hurt our relationships long-term, so Charna decided it was best to settle this.

"Alright, let's settle-"

"Oh, can I go to your side,"

"Same,"

"Me too,"

"Yeah, I'll go over as well,"

"Ditto,"

"Same,"

"*sigh*... I thought about it a lot actually I would like to proceed," Clio says before skipping over to our side.

Oh, that was easier than I expected.

"B-but… It took me so much time to think of reasons to persuade you," Charna says, dripping a few tears of disappointment.

We all chuckled to ourselves a bit, and even Charna began to giggle.

And we blinked once.

Our eyes widened even farther than usual as we reopened them.

I looked down to see I was a bit shorter than usual and my hands were tanned. No, my entire body had been tanned.

I blinked again.

This time my skin was pale white, and the hair that flowed to my waist was a fiery red.

I blinked again.

When I opened my eyes, all I saw was darkness.

It was dark but strangely comforting.

"Huh?" Twelve voices resonated.

The darkness below us suddenly lit up with a small rippling wave that washed up against our feet as if a pebble had dropped in a pond.

"So this is the darkness I heard about," We all muttered, but I didn't mean to say that.

"W-whats happening-"

"It's comforting here-"

"Strange,"

Strings of words that formulated sentences flowed from my mouth but were quickly interrupted by another series of words.

I blinked again.

"HUFF HUFF HUFF"

"W-what the hell was that," Amanda mutters in between desperate coughs and gasps.

Everybody jolted up and began to look at each other and even began to glance at their hands, checking to see if we were ourselves… including me, of course.

"Hey, Mia. You know something, right?" Ethel asks with a glare.

Her killing intent showed her raw emotions.

"Y-yeah, but I didn't expect it actually to happen," She replies.

"What is it?" Celestine asks.

"My family said that once you achieve full hivemind, your whole world will change. Your world will revolve around whoever you are connected to. I think… we can finally draw out each other's power to our fullest capabilities," Mia says with a smile, but I was still suspicious.

"What's up with your family?" I ask.

"Mine?" Mia asks, pointing to herself.

"Yeah,"

"What do you mean?"

"Why is your family so weird. They rarely appear publicly. Very minimal information is known about them publicly. And most of all… how does the rest of the world not know about this," I reply.

The white training room we were in was dead silent.

Mia's face remained unchanged, but I could feel eyes of curiosity crawling all over my skin, but most of them were actually just grazing past me and were directed at Mia.

"A dungeon that belongs only to you… Bullshit," Charna adds.

She was right.

Dungeons appear everywhere at any given time. They also always have a double, including the highest of S-rank gates… So it was suspicious.

I just passed over it at that time because I thought she just didn't want us to know, but now I couldn't ignore it.

"*sigh*... Fine… I'll tell you-"

BEEP BEEP BEEP BEEP

An alarm suddenly went off, and the lights also flickered off.

…

(Unknown POV)

"HUFF HUFF HUFF HUFF… I have to run," I mutter, leaving behind my siblings to get slaughtered behind me.

My long, tannish-pink hair fluttered behind me as I ran as fast as I could.

They were chasing after me and at an incredible speed.

A sudden burst of blood ŀust activated my instincts, causing me to jump backward, just bȧrėly dodging ten swords made from something akin to steel.

It looked similar to it, and the shine was almost identical but judging from how they didn't even pierce the floor below me… They were something made from a power stone.

"A metal-related power stone," I mutter before turning the other way and avoiding the figures cloaked in shadows.

Their black ȧssassin attire helped them blend into the shadows of the now dark mansion, so I had to be extra wary.

The chase continued for a few more minutes before I ran into my room.

I locked the door immediately and pressed the emergency buŧŧon that helped reinforce not only the doors but the ventilation system and the walls.

This wouldn't last long though, as they had metal-related power stones, so I quickly moved to my emergency escape shaft.

I jumped down after grabbing a bottle of medicine from my counter.

BAM

After slamming another buŧŧon towards the bottom of the escape shaft, the hatch closed above me, and I made my way down the long metal hallway.

Just great. This place is entirely to their advantage.

My legs began to hurt from running so much.

I regretted not working out more, but that was the least of my problems now as I had to find them… Tolf. They are the only ones who can help me now.

"HUFF HUFF HUFF,"

My ċhėst began to burn up, and my tannish-pink pupils were now surrounded by bloodshot blood vessels.

*gulp*

I swallowed another dose of medicine from the bottle that I tightly gripped in my right hand.

My blurry vision returned to normal but to my surprise, a man cloaked in darkness waitied in front of me.

Tch

Bzzzt Bzzzt

Lightning crackled in my hand and I shaped it into a spear that I through directly at the shadow.

It hit the target directly on, but I knew the man was bait… I mean… This was the famous Write family after all.
