The eyes of the two men, who were firing vicious shots at each other, turned at once to Elusiana.

“W-why are you looking at me like that?”

“Where are you going?”

“Where are you going?”

“Oh, t-that’s—”

The two men stood up from their seats at once as if they had practiced. Elusiana flinched and laughed awkwardly at the appearance of the two men.

What’s wrong with them all of a sudden? Uh, are they going to follow me?!

Elusiana replied with a red face at the sight of the two men seated next to her. “I-I’m going to the bathroom.”

“Ah!”

“Goodness.”

The faces of the two men who turned their heads turned red.

* * *

“Come back, Lusi.”

“I’ll be waiting here. But is it okay if you don’t follow me?”

“Yes! It’s good enough!”

Being seen off by two burdensome men, Elusiana moved to a lounge set up for noble ladies.

“I wish there would be no one.”

But she knew that the possibility of that happening was close to zero. There was no way the lounge, which had only a few rooms, would be empty when there were so many people there.

Elusiana reached its destination, holding her breath as much as possible. Fortunately, other young ladies were so engrossed in their conversation that they didn’t pay attention to her. She hurried out of the lounge after doing her business.

“Phew— should I say I’m lucky? Anyway, I’m glad I didn’t get in trouble for no reason.”

It was when she was sweeping her chest like that. A servant appeared in the distance. The servant, who looked around as if looking for someone, soon found her and ran fast.

Huh? Elusiana looked back, just in case. But there was no one behind her. Of course, next to her too.

“So, it’s coming to me?”

Why? A question suddenly occurred to her, but it was a problem that could be solved by listening.

The servant who came to her asked. “Are you the daughter of Viscount Waieos?”

“Yes, I’m Lady Waieos. But what’s going on?”

The servant, who paused for a moment, replied with a stiff face. “I received a call from the Waieos mansion.”

“…Call?”

Elusiana, with her head tilted, looked at the servant. There was no one at home today. Simon was spending time with the children at Angel House.

He said he would be at Angel House until late today. Could it be that he came back early? Sometimes that happened, so Elusiana thought it wasn’t strange and accepted it easily.

“The Viscount sent a carriage.”

“Carriage?”

“He told you to come back as soon as possible.”

Elusiana couldn’t understand it. The carriage of Grand Duke Sestein was supposed to take her home, so why did he suddenly send one?

“By any chance, do you have a separate letter?

“Here is it.”

The servant handed her a mysterious letter. It was strange too, but once she saw the pattern on the letter was from Waieos’s family. The handwriting on the envelope was undeniably Simon’s. The content was all about returning, as the servant said.

“The carriage is ready as soon as Lady leaves Sapphire Hall.” The servant bowed his head and stepped aside as if he had nothing more to say.

Elusiana hesitated about what to do and hurriedly turned around. Telling her to return quickly would mean that something happened to Simon. Father, what on earth is going on?

Ignoring the numb pain in her feet, Elusiana quickly left the Sapphire Hall.

* * *

It wasn’t until Elusiana’s appearance completely disappeared that Camilla drew her eyes to the entrance to the Sapphire Hall.

“Lady Camilla, where can I get your new perfume?”

“I’ve been asking at the store Lady often visits, but I couldn’t find the same perfume.”

“Can you at least tell me some information about the purchasing route?”

Camilla had been using a new perfume for some time. Even though the subtle scent felt pure, the remaining scent was fascinatingly sweet, so it had a mysterious power that made you look back even if you passed by without thinking. So, the young ladies who had just become adults have no choice but to ask.

“Does it smell good?”

“Yes!”

“Of course!”

“I love it!”

The ladies’ eyes sparkled.

“Please, Lady Camilla.”

“Can’t you tell… where did you purchase it?”

“Do you want it that much?”

“Yes!”

“I want it!”

“Please let me know.”

Camilla comforted them with a kind smile. “This is a prototype. I can get it for the ladies if I want, but I would like to recommend the finished product that will be released soon. It’s a product that cannot be compared to what I have now.”

“T-then, when can I buy that perfume?”

“Soon, it’ll be on the market.”

I just got the last ingredient. Camilla’s eyes flashed magically as she swallowed her words.

* * *

Elusiana quickly crossed the hallway. There were many questions about what the servant said, but she couldn’t help but worry. Just in case.

Even though he had been quiet all this time, Simon had a record she couldn’t ignore. He might have done something out of control again.

He might have done something else he couldn’t handle.’

Just hoping it was no big deal, Elusiana gave strength to her feet as if she were running. Every time she stepped out, her toes and heels tingled and hurt, but now was not the time to care about it.

“Gasp!”

Elusiana, barely out of the Sapphire Hall, found a carriage visible down the stairs.

“Public carriage!”

Elusiana’s scarlet eyes trembled slightly when she checked it. Others might wonder if a noble would ride a carriage like that, but not to Elusiana. As Waieos had already sold off their own carriage a long time ago, the sight of the carriage, which was commonly seen everywhere at rental shops, immediately washed away her doubts about the servant.

“…What really happened? Don’t tell me he has taken a private loan from somewhere else?”

Elusiana, who recalled the lender of ‘Dream-seeking Paradise,’ who came to press for debt, shook her head in surprise. “That won’t be it.”

From then on, Simon shared his opinions with Elusiana and carried out everything she wanted him to do.

“I’ll have to go quickly for now.”

Whatever it was, it was a matter of seeing and judging for herself. Elusiana took a deep breath and went down the stairs without time to think more deeply. And just as she opened the carriage door, a black, rough hand stretched out like the hand of a hungry ghost.

* * *

The two men, Aster and Noel, who came out of the terrace along with Elusiana, were staring at the same place, leaving only enough distance to keep each other in check.

“…”

“…”

However, even after a long time, Elusiana’s appearance was not even visible. The eyes of the two men, who felt strange, clashed once again.

It was Noel who brought it up first. “That’s strange. Even if the ladies stay in the lounge for a long time, they rarely take this long.”

“Something seems to have happened.”

Shortly after the words were over, he crossed the Sapphire Hall without anyone saying it first. There was a small disturbance in the sudden action, but the nobles soon drew attention.

Aster and Noel arrived at the entrance of the hallway with a lounge. Several young ladies were seen coming in and out of the splendidly decorated hallway. At that time, he saw the young lady, who had just come out of the room, getting her hair done again.

Noel naturally interrupted the woman and spoke. “Lady Olivia.”

“Oh my. L-Lord Klaus.”

Surprised, Olivia quickly corrected her posture and held her hands gently in front of the dress. She blushed shyly and said, “This is a place where only women can come, but what is Lord Klaus doing here?”

“Have you seen Elusiana?”

Olivia was horrified by Aster’s sudden interruption of the question.

“If it’s Elusiana… Are you talking about Lady Waieos?”

“Yes.”

Olivia’s expression quickly cooled in response to Aster’s answer. Seeing her open hostility, Noel said, slightly pushed Aster away. “It’s a bit of a problem. How should I say this?”

“…Problem?”

“Yes. In fact,  I have something to get from Viscount Waieos, and I decided to receive it through Lady Waieos.”

“Something?”

Instead of answering, Noel asked a series of questions. “I have to go soon too. Lady Olivia, can you help me?”

“O-of course. If that’s the case, of course, I’ll help you. However…”

Olivia replied after a moment of hesitation. “Lady Waieos has left a long time ago.”

“She left?”

“Really?”

Olivia answered the two men’s sharp questions with a puzzled face. “Yes. She ran over there in a hurry. Perhaps she went to pick up something to deliver to Lord Klaus?”

The two men’s eyes turned in the direction Olivia pointed her finger at. There was an entrance to the Sapphire Hall. The two men’s expressions quickly hardened. When on earth?

Olivia thought she had made a mistake, so she called Noel carefully. “L-Lord Klaus. Did something go wrong by any chance?”

“No. Thank you, Lady Olivia. You helped me a lot.”

Noel left the words and turned away. Olivia reached out in frustration, but the two men were already gone.
