Chapter 6
While looking into everyone’s face teacher McLane explained the rules in a snappy tone.
Everybody listened calmly to the teacher. There were many students with a tense expression.
This strained feeling lasted until the teacher finished talking and it was time for self-introductions.
They stood up, in turn, starting from the classroom’s back and gave their names.
There seem to be few girls in this class.
Then after having observed the rotation,
“I’m Ace Riot. Please take care of me.”
It was my own turn and after I introduced myself like everyone else, I let out a sigh of relief.
From tomorrow on, classes will officially start – – While thinking “What the heck” I patted the textbook in my hand.
“Well then, it’s over for today, but you should look around the Academy if you’re interested.”
Teacher McLane continued while laughing.
“Because the period clubs wanting to invite new students will start. If there’s something that might interest you, you should enter a club, but you don’t have to if there’s not. Because club activities are not compulsory it’s okay if you want to give priority to studying.”
I see.
I was lost in thoughts a little.
As soon as the teacher left the silence broke. Noise spread immediately.
Everyone started to talk to their neighbours and chatted.
“Which club do you want to join?”
Simon asked.
“If there is something with swordsmanship, I want to do that.”
While I putting the textbook which was lying on my desk into my back he laughed as if what I said was unexpected.
“I can’t imagine that with your appearance.”
“That might be so”
I grinned.
“I’m full of surprises.”
“You see, Ace if we just go by your appearance you have the image of someone just sitting back and letting a girl serve you tea.”
“What’s with that?”
When I glared at him with furrowed eyebrows an unknown voice called out to me.
“Hey, Ace, did you already decide what club you want to join?”
As I said before, there were only a few girls and this child was one of the most gorgeous among them.
Blond, curly, long hair, a cheerful looking smile. How pretty.
“Well, not yet, I guess?”
While I answered like that Simon started to laugh next to me.

When I looked at Simon I noticed the state of the boys around us who listened in on this.
Somehow I had a bad feeling and started to panic.
“Then do you want to look together if there’s a club that interests you?”
After that girl said this, other girls approached me saying “Me too-“.
I see!
It’s what Rachel talked about before, “Arrival of Popularity” or something like that!
I smiled kindly at talked to them.
“I think I might not want to join a club”
“Ehー”
While shaking off the slightly frustrated girls I pack my things together and was about to leave the classroom.
Rachel was standing in the hallway.
I closed the door instantly.
“I came to pick you up”
Rachel opened the door immediately and stood before me. I felt a certain danger I turned to Simon and then glared at Rachel.
“Don’t ask”
“Oh my, you shouldn’t decline a person’s kindness, you know?”
She smiled as she looked at me. This is scary!
“Kindness you say, or do you mean threatening?”
“The words of the seniors are absolutes. That’s a rule of this Academy.”
She put emphasis on the word “rule”.
I noticed that we attracted attention in the classroom.
I broke out in cold sweat. If I didn’t do something quick I would stand out starting from my first day here!
“Ehm Rachel”
I pushed Simon’s shoulder. “I provide you with this human sacrifice or something.”
“Eh, wai-”
Simon who suddenly got involved in this raised a loud voice.
“Oh my, a friend? Okay, I welcome you.”
Rachel smiled and took Simon’s hand.
Even though Simon’s face turned red it soon turned blue after he saw me try to escape from the corner of his eyes and grabbed my arm without letting go.
“Hey, Ace, what’s this about?”
“An invitation to the drama club”
“Drama club!?”
While we were panicking Rachel grabbed Simon’ wrist and began to walk.
While Simon’s other hand grabbed my arm.
It seems like we will be taken to the Drama club’s clubroom after all.
“Haaー”
Simon opens his mouth absentmindedly.
Well, I understood those feelings well. Being at a loss for words, I wearily sat down on a chair.
The Drama club’s clubroom was rather pretty. All of the members were only girls. Judging by their demeanour one could see that almost everyone was a well-off family’s only child.
We who were brought as the drama club’s visitors were told to sit at a table in the corner of the clubroom.
One female student put a cup of tea before us. And on the plates were baked sweets.
The tea came out of nowhere…… When I thought that I saw a female student making a fire on her hand with magic and puts it under the silver pot which made a whistling sound.
“Using fire inside the Academy……?”
While I was sitting in the chair opposite to Rachel I muttered this in a low voice while laughing.
“It’s fine if you’re under the supervision of a teacher.”
“Supervision?”
I noticed a woman in her mid-40s and stared at her she returned with a smile.
She seemed to be the Drama club’s advisor.
“They seem to be students of the Magic Department.”
The advising teacher stood beside us staring at us as if observing us.
“What’s more from the A class. You’ll be very busy studying.”
“Yes”
I showed a drawn smile.
“Therefore our time for club activities isn’t-”
When I tried to talk a girl continued.
“The Drama club is a rather free club. I always drink tea in this club room and do my homework. Because it’s a really peaceful club, other than the time around the school festival, so even students from the Magic Department A-class are able to manage.”
――I don’t want to hear that!
“We aren’t able to decide immediately.”
When I butt in desperately the teacher nodded while laughing calmly.
“Yes, think about it carefully. You should come tomorrow to observe after your lessons again”
“……If we aren’t busy”
Aaah, my smile stiffened!
After I said “The cake was delicious” I seized Simon’s arm who was still eating and ran away from the clubroom.
Before the clubroom’s door closed behind me I heard the members’ voices.
“Rachel-sama is great!”
“She’s not only great but she also has a beautiful figure, beautiful! I look forward to the next school festival!”
What cheerful voices.
……My head hurts. May I cry?
“My~ Isn’t that great?”
Simon talked like it was someone else’s problem next to me.
“It’s like a completely different world in there”
I swear.
If I end up entering the Drama club I’ll drag Simon with me!
And.
On the next day after school.
Rachel came over to the classroom to meet me again.
The atmosphere of the classroom was delicate for me on that day. Indeed, because I made so much noise yesterday I got treated coldly by the students.
“This is the A-class.”
“Club activities are more important than studying, huh?”
That male student intentionally uttered that sarcastic remark loud enough for me to hear.
No, no, no, it’s not like that!
I wanted to shout this!
My purpose for coming to this Academy was to thoroughly study magic and swordsmanship!
I want to catch Gray Sterling and hit him hard!
“Rachel”
I stared at her who stood in front of me to pick me up. I think my eyes lowered a bit probably.
“What?”
She slightly drew in on my eyes.
“Is the Drama club’s advising teacher a magician?”
“That’s right. Her speciality is herbalism.”
“Is that so?”
I looked around incidentally.
I noticed that some male students peeked at us. I grabbed the arm of the male student who gave that sarcastic remark today and continued talking.
“Why don’t you invite another student? If self-study is permitted, it should be fine.”
“What! Me, joining the drama club?!”
The male student scowled at me. I threw a smile at him. I was confident that I smiled without leaking any evil intentions!
“……What?”
While he was still at a loss I handed his arm to Rachel. Additionally, I caught one more of the dumbfounded male students.
“Have a nice day”
I say so without breaking my smile and pushed my classmate to Rachel.
I laughed when I saw Rachel taking those two to the clubroom while Simon clapped my shoulder hard.
“You’re interesting”
Rude! I am more than that!
