Emily's eyes turned red, and her voice trembled. "It's really you..."

Estelle's heart ached. "I'm sorry, I let you down. It's all my fault. I will accept any punishment from you."

Hearing this, Emily closed her eyes. So what if she punished her? Now, punishment meant nothing. What distressed her most was not the losses incurred by the company, but that the person she had trusted the most had betrayed her from the very beginning. She had treated Estelle with great love and compassion, but Estelle had made a fool of her.

What was even more horrible was that perhaps Beryl, Emily's daughter, had also been kidnapped by this woman whom she had trusted so much...

"Did you…kidnap Beryl?"

"No, no, I didn't mean to get Beryl involved in this!" Estelle hastily denied, but then she explained, "But I had no choice. I'm just an insignificant chess piece in Ethan's hand. My family is still under his control, and our lives and prospects are in his hands. I really couldn't do anything about it..."

Before she finished speaking, Estelle choked on her sobs. Although she had been confused and manipulated at that time, she had just wanted to complete the task assigned to her by Ethan. She had never wanted to hurt Beryl. Although she had tried her best, she had still been unable to stop Beryl from being taken away...

"Just stop talking!" Emily shouted at Estelle, who was lamenting sadly.

The safety of her three children was her bottom line. Therefore, Estelle had crossed the line that she would never allow anyone to breach.

Jacob held Emily, who was trembling in anger. After she finished speaking, he gestured to the people behind him, and then, two men stepped forward from both sides to lift Estelle up.

Despite this, there was no fear on Estelle's face. She seemed to have accepted that she was guilty.

As she was about to be dragged away, Emily finally couldn't help but say, "Let her go."

Those men paused upon hearing this. Then they looked at Jacob, who hesitated for a moment before he waved at them. It was at that moment that they finally let go of Estelle.

Estelle hadn't expected th

dark. And though it wasn't fully furnished, it was clean and tidy. There was even a faint whiff of perfumed air freshener in it.

When Beryl heard a noise at the door, she turned her head and, seeing them, she ran to them. "Dad, Mom, Uncle David!"

She threw herself into Jacob's arms and began to sob. "I thought you didn't want me anymore. You didn't come to pick me up for such a long time. I was so scared..."

Jacob scooped Beryl up, hugging her gently as he comforted, "Don't be afraid, Beryl. I am here now, all right? I'm here with you. No one can hurt you."

Jacob felt so relieved to hold Beryl in his arms. With the people in this world, it was always a case of tit for tat. Therefore, his daughter, Beryl, was so unfortunate to have suffered a lot, and it was all because he had failed to protect her.

Emily also cried then. She looked Beryl over and saw that her clothes were still clean. Then she checked her body. After she found that there were no signs of injuries, she was finally relieved.

"Tell me, has anyone bullied you while you were here?" Emily asked gently.

Hearing this, Beryl turned her attention to Emily. Her small face was full of tears, but she shook her head gamely. "No one bullied me, but that uncle is so horrible."

With that, Beryl pointed to Ethan with her right index finger, and her body couldn't help trembling. After all, she had seen him feed a man to a dog.
